- Adjustment pin (provided with valve set)
VALVE INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
1. Fit the transmitter’s circular face to the round valve
stemhead and hand tighten the attachment screw two turns.
Insert the valve stem Into the wheel valve hole with the
appropriate washer (flat or beveled). Hand tighten the valve
anchor nut. The valve adjustment hole must be visible on
top. (See Fig.4)
Note: The attachment screw can only be used once due to the
thiead-Iocldng adhesive.
2. Confirm that the valve transmitter will fit on this particular
wheel. Pivot the transmitter, checking that both contact pads
rest in the drop centre well of the wheel and that there
is a gap at the top of at least the thickness of the adjustment
pin (See Fig.4). If the transmitter cannot be made to sit
flat the SmarTire strap mount transmitter must be used
instead (See Fig.5). .

3. Use the 11 mm socket and torque wrench to tighten the
valve anchor nut to 35.4 Ibt.in (+I-.44) or 4 NM (+I-.05).
Use the valve adjustment pin to ensure the valve stem
does not turn while tightening. (See Figs)
4. Hold the transmitter so that it sits flat in the drop centre well
at the wheel. Use the T20 TORX bit and torque wrench to
tighten the transmitter attachment screw to 31 Ibfin (tl- AA)
or 35 NM (+/- 05). Use the valve adjustment pin to ensure
the valve stem does not turn while tightening. Thread the
corresponding colored washer on the valve stem to match
the colored dot on the transmitter. Screw the dust cap on the

Note: If the tire slips several inches on the wheel dun'ng the
installation process, stop and reposition the transmitter/wheel
back to 90' in front of bead guiding shoe.
7. With the bottom head in place, again position the wheel
with the transmitter located 90‘ in tront oi the bead guiding
shoe. Depress the head into the drop centre so that the
traction point is 3" (8 cm) betore the transmitter. Use the
bead guiding shoe to guide the rest of the top bead over
the flange and onto the rim.
Note: If thel tine slips several inches on the wheel during the
installation process, stop and reposition the transmitter/wheel
