Battery Insertion and Replacement
The remote control uses a CR-2 type battery. To insert a new battery:
•Gentlyslidethebatterycoveroff.(A)
•Makesurethatthe“+”signonthebatterymatches
withthe“+”signinthebatterycompartment.
•Placethebatteryinthecompartmentmakingsurethatthebattery
isproperlypositionedatbothends.(B)
•Replacethebatterycover,thenslideitclosed.

Battery Insertion and Replacement
Please note:
•Thebatterycovershouldneverbeforced.
Ifforceisrequiredtoclosethecover,checkthealignment
and reposition it so that it slides into place easily.
•Batterylifewillvarydependingonconditionsofuse.
Askyourhearingcareprofessionalformoreinformation.

Operating your Hearing Instrument
with the Remote Control
Your hearing instruments can be operated by using the buttons on
yourremotecontrol.Ifyouhavehearinginstrumentsttedtobothears,
the remote control will adjust both at the same time.
Operating Distance
Withtheremotecontrol,youcanoperateyourhearinginstrument
fromadistanceofupto1meter(aboutthelengthofyourarm).
Adirectlineofsightbetweentheremotecontrolandyourhearing
instruments is not required.

Lock Switch
Your remote control is equipped with a lock switch to prevent
accidental operation.
•Positiontheswitchto“unlock”withthegreendotvisible.

Volume Control
The volume of your hearing
instruments may be adjusted
as follows:
Program Cycle Button
To cycle through the hearing
instrument programs with the
remotecontrol,pressthe“●”
button. Each push will advance
the hearing instruments to the
next program in the cycle.
Press“+”toincreasevolume(louder)
Press“–”todecreasevolume(softer)
Increase volume
Decrease volume

Favorite Button
The remote control is equipped with a Favorite Button.
Bypressingthisbutton,theremotecontroldirectsthehearing
instrumentstoapre-determined“favorite”setting.
The function of the Favorite Button has been
programmed by your Hearing Care Professional.
Press «✱» button to directly access your
favorite function.

Status Light
The status light indicates remote control operation.
It will blink after each button press. Two possibilities will be seen.
Red blinking indicates that the remote control is locked.
Green blinking indicates that the remote control is unlocked
and has sent a command to your hearing instruments.

If the light does not blink after
abuttonispressed,thebattery
needs to be replaced.

Lanyard Ring
Foryourconvenience,itispossibletoattachtheremotecontrol
toalanyard.Inordertomountthelanyard,pullouttheringwhich
is found near the battery compartment.
Thread the cord through the ring
to attach it to your remote control.

Care of your Remote Control
•Whenchangingthebatteryorcleaningtheremotecontrol,hold
it over a soft surface to avoid damage if it is accidentally dropped.
•Cleantheremotecontrolregularlywithadryclothortissue.
•Avoidgettingtheremotecontrolwet.
•Neverattempttodrytheremotecontrolwithahairdryer,
in a microwave oven or with any other heating devices.
•Theremotecontrolshouldneverbeexposedtoextremeheat,
such as on the dashboard or in the glove box of your car.

Environmental Protection
Help to protect the environment by not disposing of your
remote control or batteries with your unsorted household
waste. Please recycle your remote control and batteries or
return them to your hearing care professional for disposal. Contact your
hearing care professional for more information.

•Adeadbatteryshouldberemovedassoonaspossible.
•Usedbatteriesshouldbereturnedtoyourbatterysupplier
or hearing care professional.
•Neverdisposeofbatteriesbyburningthem.
There is a risk that they may explode and cause injury.
•Neverdisposeofbatterieswithhouseholdwaste.
They can cause environmental pollution.
•Nevertrytorechargenon-rechargeablebatteries.
•Keepnewandusedbatteriesawayfromyoungchildrenorpersons
ofmentalincapacity.Ifswallowed,seekimmediatemedicaladvice.

•Theremotecontrolisnotapprovedtobeoperatedinexplosive
environments. Do not use it in mines or other environments
withexplosivehazards.
•Theremotecontrolusesdigitalinductivesignalstotransmit
commandstothehearinginstrument.Althoughextremelyunlikely,
concerns have been raised that this signal could interfere with
medical devices such as pacemakers.
•Asanadditionalprecaution,weadvisepacemakerrecipientsnotto
carry and use the remote control in a breast pocket or around the neck.
•Attention!Theremotecontrolisnotatoyandshouldunderno
circumstances be passed on to infants or small children
(under36month).
•Forsecurityreasonsthelanyardshouldneverbetiedtogether.

International warranty
TheBernafonRemoteControliscoveredbyalimitedwarranty,
coveringdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanship,foraperiodof
12 months from the date of delivery. This warranty covers the remote
controlitself,butnotaccessoriessuchasbatteries.
This warranty becomes invalid if a defect is a result of misuse
or maltreatment.
Thiswarrantyisvoidifnon-authorizedpersonnelhaverepairedthe
remote control. Please review the warranty card with your hearing
healthcare professional and make sure that your warranty card is
completed correctly.
