If the handle is aligned properly on the vacuum base, you should be able to push the screw almost entirely into the hole until only the screw head is visible. Tighten the screw with a Phillips head screwdriver by rotating the screw clockwise. Attach vacuum 4, hose_ clips & tools 1. Attach the extension wand clip by inserting the clip into the back of the vacuum base and twisting clockwise. Mount the extension wand (with crevice tool inside) on the back of the vacuum. 1, 2. Snap the upper cord wrap into the socket located above the extension wand clip. Wrap the power cord around the cord wrap clips. 3. Attach the Twist 'n Snap T" hose by lining up the tabs on the cuff with the corresponding notches on the back of the vacuum. Twist the Twist 'n Snap hose clockwise to lock the hose into place. 2, 2, 4. Slide the end of the hose wand into the hose wand base, and fold the hose over the upper hose wrap. 3, 3. 1, 4, ACAUTION Power switch The Power switch on model 9595, 1816, 3918, 4207, 24101, 7482 series is located on the left side of the vacuum. Push the rocker switch "ON" (I) to vacuum, and "OFF" (0) when cleaning is complete. The Power switch on model 2412 is located on the front of the handle. Push the button (_ once to vacuum, and push the button (_) again when cleaning is complete. Before using v0urvacuum, make sure thatthedi_ tankisinthe10(ked position andthatbothfilters (prem0t0r andp0st-m0t0r) areinplace. Donot operate v0urvacuum without these filters. NOTE: You can find your model number on the back, bottom side of the vacuum on the white sticker by the UL rating. Handle position Press the handle release to place your CleanView three cleaning positions. 1. Upright - For storage cleaning with tools. 2. Normal cleaning for household floor pedal with your foot vacuum into one of and above floor - Press handle release cleaning tasks. 3. Low cleaning - With the vacuum in normal cleaning position, press handle release pedal again, use for reaching under low furniture such as tables, chairs or beds. Height adjustment There are five height settings available for various floor surfaces. Turn the dial on the foot of the cleaner to the desired setting. Lowest setting - For low pile carpet or bare floors. To pick up debris, it may be necessary to move up one setting. Medium setting Highest setting shag carpet. - For medium pile carpet. - For high pile and most NOTE: For optimal carpet cleaning performance, adjust to the lowest practical setting. If your cleaner is difficult to push, adjust to the next higher setting. Brush Roll On/Off (On model series: 7482 & 2412) The rotating brush On/Off pedal is located on the front of the vacuum base. You can use your foot to engage or disengage this pedal (a). When the brush roll pedal has been engaged, the brush will start rotating. The brush roll should be turned on for most carpeted floors. To turn the brush roll off, disengage the pedal by pressing on it with your foot. We recommend turning off the brush roll for bare floor cleaning to prevent scatter or for other delicate surfaces. Transportin_l a. cleaner 1. To move your cleaner from room to room, put the handle in the upright position, tilt the cleaner back on its rear wheels and push forward. 2. The cleaner can also be moved carrying handle. Suction Power by using the Indicator (On model series: 2412) The suction power indicator tells you when the air flow in your vacuum is reduced due to dirty filters or a clog in the hose. The suction power indicator will remain green until the airflow is reduced. At that time, it begins to change to red. When it is fully red, the airflow is significantly reduced by a dirty filter or clog. Follow the steps on page 12 for clearing a clog. Follow the steps on pages 9 and 10 to clean your filters. All filters in the vacuum should be cleaned or replaced when the clean filter indicator turns red. NOTE: When your vacuum is turned off, the suction power indicator will go to the green color setting. The suction power indicator only detects reductions in airflow when the vacuum power is on. To access the post-motor filter, remove the filter tray located below the Easy Empty dirt tank. When the filter becomes dirty, push the filter through the bottom of the tray to clean or replace the filter. Lid Release Button NOTE: The pleated post-motor filter may NOT be washed with water or detergent. If dust and/ or debris accumulates on the filter, gently tap the filter on the side of a garbage container. Note: More frequent filter cleaning or replacing may be necessary if you are vacuuming new carpet, fine dust, or have allergy concerns. Follow the instructions on the following pages to perform these simple maintenance steps. Rinse well, then air dry thoroughly before replacing the filter. Make sure all components are completely dry before replacing. 3. The inner cyclone may also be removed for cleaning. With the bottom of Easy Empty dirt tank open, reach up into the dirt cup and grasp the cyclone. Twist the cyclone clockwise to unlock and pull straight down to remove. The inner cyclone and dirt cup may be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Make sure all parts are dry before replacing. 3, NOTICE Donotplace thedirttankorotherproduct components inthedishwasher. Handwashonly. Replacin_l the post-motor filter Use only a genuine BISSELL replacement post-motor filter in your BISSELL CleanView vacuum. 1. Unplug the cleaner from electrical 2. outlet. 2. Checkin_l rotatin_l floor brush and drive belt You should check your vacuum cleaner's rotating floor brush and drive belt regularly for wear or damage. You should also clean the brush and brush ends of strings, hair and carpet fibers. These can wrap around the brush and hamper its ability to effectively clean your carpet. Also remove any debris that has accumulated under the brush cover. 1. Unplug cleaner from electrical 3. Brush Cover outlet. 2. Grasp rotating floor brush at both ends and lift straight out of the vacuum foot. Slip off the belt. 5. Unplug cleaner from electrical outlet. 2. Reposition the brush cover and screw all seven screws back into place. If you notice a change in the sound of the motor or a reduction in the spinning action of the dirt or brush roll, check for clogs. 1. Unplug cleaner from electrical outlet. 2. Remove Easy Empty dirt tank from base and empty dirt and debris. vacuum 3. Remove inner cyclone from Easy Empty dirt tank (see page 10) and check for debris build-up or clogs in the upper tank. 4. Check the suction inlet for a clog. 5. Grasp the hose wand to separate from the hose wand base. Check for a clog in the base, the wand or within the hose. 6. Remove the screw attaching the hose wand base to the vacuum. Straighten the hose wand base and check for clogs with a long, narrow object such as a broom stick. Do not use sharp objects like a clothes hanger, as these may puncture the hose. 7.
