Theyinclude fueling areas such as gasoline or petrol stations; below deck on boats; fuel or chemicaltransfer or storage facilities; vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas, such as propane or butane;areas where the air contains chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust, or metal powders; and anyother area where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine.Do not use the phone on your BlackBerry smartphone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.Leave the area and, if the phone is available and active on your BlackBerry smartphone, make thecall from a safe location.Blasting areas: When in a "blasting area" or an area that indicates that two-way radios should beturned off, to avoid interfering with blasting operations, turn off all wireless connections on yourBlackBerry smartphone and obey all signs and instructions.Operating and storage temperaturesDo not use your BlackBerry smartphone in surrounding temperatures that exceed 95°F (35°C). Useabove this surrounding temperature could cause your BlackBerry smartphone to become hot, whichcould result in serious injury, death, or damage to property. Do not store your BlackBerrysmartphone in surrounding temperatures that exceed 86°F (30°C).Keep your BlackBerry smartphone or BlackBerry smartphone accessories away from heat sources,such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.If you are not going to use your BlackBerry smartphone for more than two weeks, turn off theBlackBerry smartphone power and remove the battery. Clean only with a soft dry cloth. Disconnect any cables fromthe computer and unplug any charging accessories from the electrical outlet before cleaning eitheryour BlackBerry smartphone or the charging accessory.If it is necessary to clean the battery cover on your BlackBerry smartphone, remove the batterycover carefully and keep your BlackBerry smartphone away from all liquids. Clean the battery coverwith a soft cloth that is dampened with water and mild liquid detergent. Verify that the battery coveris completely dry before you put it back on your BlackBerry smartphone.Repair: Do not attempt to disassemble your BlackBerry smartphone or any charging accessory. Onlyqualified service personnel should perform repairs to your BlackBerry smartphone. If any of thefollowing situations occur, disconnect the power supply cables from the computer or electrical outletand refer your BlackBerry smartphone or charging accessory for service to qualified servicepersonnel:• the power supply cord, plug, or connector is damaged• liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the BlackBerry smartphone or chargingaccessory• the BlackBerry smartphone or charging accessory has been exposed to rain or water• the BlackBerry smartphone or charging accessory becomes very hot to the touch• the BlackBerry smartphone or charging accessory has been dropped or damaged in any way• the BlackBerry smartphone or charging accessory does not operate normally by following theinstructions in the user documentation• the BlackBerry smartphone or charging accessory exhibits a distinct change in performanceTo reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, adjust only those controls that are covered in the userdocumentation for your BlackBerry smartphone. An improper adjustment of other controls mightcause damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore yourBlackBerry smartphone, charging accessory, or any other accessory to normal operation.Failure to observe all safety instructions contained in the user documentation for your BlackBerrysmartphone will void the Limited Warranty and might lead to suspension or denial of services to theoffender, legal action, or both.Smartphone and battery disposalDo not dispose of either your BlackBerry smartphone or the battery in a fire. The BlackBerry MVS isnot designed or intended to be a replacement for traditional telephone service. Additionalarrangements must be made, separate from the BlackBerry MVS, for you to obtain access totraditional fixed or wireless telephone services, such as emergency calling capability. RIM and itsaffiliates, and their respective officers, directors, and employees shall have no responsibility orliability whatsoever for any personal injury, death, or damages arising out of or in connection with theinability to access emergency call services (for example, 911, 112, 000, or 999) through theBlackBerry MVS. By using the BlackBerry MVS Client, you agree to the above. If you do not agree tothe above, remove the BlackBerry MVS Client from your smartphone.Compliance informationExposure to radio frequency signalsThe BlackBerry smartphone radio is a low power radio transmitter and receiver. (15 mm) from your body when the BlackBerry smartphone istransmitting.To reduce radio frequency exposure consider these safety guidelines:• Use the BlackBerry smartphone in areas where there is a strong wireless signal. The indicatorthat provides information about the strength of the wireless signal is located in the upper-rightcorner of the home screen and displays five ascending bars. Three or more bars indicate a strongsignal.
