Description
The BluTower ESP_PIT AMR meter is for PIT INSTALLATIONS ONLY.
The ESP-PIT AMR meter sends meter data via radio frequency (RF)
signal to a receiving unit: HandTrackIT
®
, FastTrackIT
®
or Concentrator.
This innovative meter includes an electronic register designed to give you
the information you demand coupled with an easy to use AMR system
that is integrated into the electronic register. With no wires to connect and
no radio setup procedure, Blutower has taken the complexity out of AMR.
Installation Instructions
The ESP-PIT AMR meter comes to you pre-set at the factory ready to
install in the field. Simply install in the service line with the directional
arrow in-line with the flow of water. The meter should be oriented so the
register is vertical.
Operational Information
The ESP-PIT AMR meter is designed to operate with BluTower’s
stationary Data Collector. The meter will transmit reading, tamper, and
data logging information at 30 second intervals to the Data Collector for
billing and usage analysis purposes.
Maintenance
Metering Element:
A rebuild kit can be purchased through BluTower or your distributor to
allow you to replace the internal metering element to bring your meter up
to like new performance. If the meter is still within its warranty period,
please contact BluTower or your distributor before attempting to repair the
meter.
Meter Register:
There are no user maintainable components in the BluTower ESP-PIT
AMR meter register. Please contact BluTower or your distributor
regarding maintenance issues.

This sheet provides instruction needed to successfully connect, configure
and read the ESP-PIT AMR water meter register. This sheet is merely a
supplement to training in the operation of the BluTower AMR system. For

FCC Information
This device complies with Part Number 15 of the FCC Rules, ID
MS8ESPH. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this
device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must
accept any interference received, including interference that may cause
undesired operation.
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the
limits for a Class B Digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment
generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not
installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee
that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment
does cause harmful interference to radio or television receiption, which
can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is
encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from
that to which the receiver is connected.
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for

Interference Causing Equipment Regulations,, Operation is subject to the
following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful

RF Exposure
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for
an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and
operated with minimum distance 20cm between the radiator and your
body. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction
with any other antenna or transmitter.
The term “IC:” before the radio certification number only signifies that
Industry Canada technical specification was met.
Typical Pit Mounting Examples
The ESP-PIT AMR Meter is only approved for use in the following type of
below ground installations. Placement of the ESP-PIT AMR Meter within
the enclosure is important for satisfactory performance.
Round Meter Pit:
The round meter Pit includes a metal lid and a composite tube measuring
18" wide by 24" deep. The ESP-PIT AMR Meter is mounted in the center
of the bottom of the pit with the Register facing the direction of the reader.
