Telex Model LT-IOO Transmitter
Owners Manual (Preliminary)
The Telex Model LT-lOOE is a 100 Channel Beltpack Synthesized UHF transmitter
operating within Television Channels 47/48 and 58/59. The LT-lOOE is intended for us
with the Telex Model USR—IOOE Receiver to form a Professional Wireless Microphone
System for voice use.
FEATURES:
0 Simplicity of operation.
0 100 RF Channels the user can select to aid itinerant operations or to avoid
interference as well as to facilitate frequency coordination for multiple system
operation.
- Economical operation from two AA size batteries.
0 Fuel Gauge to monitor battery life
0 Silent Power ON/OFF switch.
0 Premium Microphones.
OPERATION:
1.Determine the RF Channel that the companion USR—IOOE receiver is set to or will
be used on. ( For initial channel selection, choose a channel that has no active local
TV stations. If all TV channels are in use, choose a channel that is at the farthest
distance from the area of use.)
2. Set the LT-IOOE Transmitter RF Channel to the same channel selected in 1. above.
3. Install fresh AA Alkaline batteries in the LT-lOOE.

4. Slide the Power ON/OFF switch to the ON Position.
5. Press the Battery Check switch to test the new batteries under load.
6. Talk into the microphone at the level you intend to use. Observe the Audio lights on
the USR-lOOE. Normal voice levels will cause the -20, —10 and occasionally the -5
lights to be on‘ Adjust the Microphone Gain Control as required. If loud speech is to
be expected, adjust the Microphone Gain Control such that average speech level
causes only Audio lights -20 and -10 to come on. Occasional flashes of the 0 and +5
Audio Lights is acceptable.
If the Audio Lights on the USR-lOOE receiver are reacting normally and the audio
sounds "clipped" or "noisy", you may have to adjust the “audio adjust" on the receive
to prevent over or under driving the audio system the USR— lOOE is attached to.
7. "Walk Test" the system by walking around the area the microphone will normally be
used in. This will assist you in finding "trouble areas" to avoid. Trouble areas if any
can sometimes be corrected by moving the receiver antennas to a different position
or location. These trouble areas are usually caused by complete cancellation of signal
from reflections and no diversity receiver, regardless of manufacturer can correct this
8. To shut down the transmitter after use, you should always reduce the volume control
on audio amplifiers or deselect the line from mixers, before turning the transmitter of
This will prevent extraneous noises such as handling noises from being transmitted
when the transmitter ON/OFF switch is operated.
The LT—lOOE Transmitter ON/OFF switch can now be set to the OFF position.
