FCC ID: BSDH212 2.1033(c)(3) MANUAL TELEX Owners Manual/Operating Instructions Telex Model Evi HTV Transmitter General ...... The Telex Evi HTV is 3 Handheld Transmitter operating within the VHF FCC Part 74Wire1ess Microphone frequency range. ( 174.0 to 186.0 MHZ ) The transmitter is especially suited for use wherever a small, reliable wireless microphone is required. Please note that each transmitter requires a matching receiver on the same operating frequency. The Telex Evi HTV Series features single channel crystal controlled units for the ultimate stability and clarity as well as economy. A separate switch is provided for Power and Mute functions. SETUP: Before setting up the transmitter, it is necessary to set up the receiver or at least check the receiver operation if the receiver has been installed previously. Place the receiver in an area where the antenna is in clear view of the transmitter operating area if possible Connect the receiver audio output to the audio input of the VCR, mixer, amplifier or other device. Turn the input to these items down at this point. Telex Evi Model HTV continued. Page 2 Apply power to the receiver. Note that there should be no "Carrier" relay activated in the receiver at this time. If the relay is activated, this indicates RF interference to the channel and the interference must be eliminated or you should consider changing the channel frequency. If the interference is not severe, suitable operation can sometimes made possible by adjusting the internal squelch control until the carrier or RF light goes out. If the light cannot be made to go off by adjusting the squelch control, then the channel should be abandoned. Set the mixer or other audio device input volume control to its normal setting. If the input volume is still excessive, the internal receiver volume can be adjusted. Open the transmitter battery door and install a fresh 9 volt alkaline battery. Place the transmitter and microphone in the position desired and turn on the power switch. Both of the battery lights should come on. If the Green Light does not come on, the battery is weak and should be replaced. The Red Light may get weaker with battery use and the transmitter will still function but the battery should be replaced as soon as practical after the Green Light extinguishes. The RF or Carrier light on the receiver should be ON. You are now ready to use the microphone. Talk in your normal tone and volume. If the audio to the mixer or amplifier sounds distorted or clipped, try reducing the input volume of the mixer or amplifier first, or turn the volume down in the receiver. If the audio is still distorted, adjust the transmitter microphone gain control located inside of the battery compartment. FCC REGULATIONS: The Telex Evi Model HTV is Type Accepted under United States Federal Communications Part 74. Licensing of Telex equipment is the users responsibility and licensibility depends upon the users classification and the frequency selected. Telex strongly urges the user to contact the appropriate telecommunications authority before ordering frequencies other than factory preset frequencies. CAUTION: Changes or modifications made by the user could void the users authority to operate the equipment.
