For all other forced air furnaces, the power unit is normally placed on the supply plenum. If installed on the return plenum, connect the unit to service hot water (140 degrees Fahrenheit maximum) to provide a heat source for evaporation. Using a level, position the template at least 1-1/2" above the furnace housing or cooling coil {if applicable) for clearance of the drain line.Trace around template edges. Remove template. 2. Accurately cut the plenum opening 14q3/16"Wx14-1i4"H, being careful to avoid injury from sharp edges. 3[] A. Unlatch humidifier cover assembly from base assembly at the bottom of the cover, lift and set aside. B. Pull out the evaporative assembly by grasping at the top and tipping out. . Position the top two plastic hooks along the top edge of the plenum opening, Push base up to engage the two hooks and sheet metal along the top edge of opening. Push base in and slide down so ._?._:. that the bottom four hooks engage the sheet metal at the bottom edge of the opening. Secure base to opening using top three screw holes in housing. An additional hob is provided at the bottom for securing _ /.._: the base to the plenum. READ HUMIDISTAT INSTALLATION FOR MANUAL HUMIDISTAT The humidistat is designed for low voltage service to control humidification equipment. An increase in relative humidity expands the nylon ribbon that opens the control switch to stop operation on the humidifier. A decrease in relative humidity reverses the process and closes the control switch. Install the humidistat. DISCONNECT TH E ELECTRICAL BEFORE PROCEEDING. While pressing the base against the plenum, reach through the center opening and turn left and right swing latches down to secure the plenum onto the base. 6_ Reinstall the evaporative assembly complete with the Humidifier Pad into the base assembly. Push the evaporative assembly in at the top between the retaining ribs that hoid the assembly in place in a vertical position. Reinstall the cover assembly by hooking at the top of base assembly and latching at the bottom. 10006725 B2203908A 10.05 POWER TO FURNACE SiDE FIRST ] TO INSTALL ON STEEL OR BRASS PiPE a} Turn off water. b) Drill 3/16" diameter hob into pipe where saddle valve will be placed. c) Place rubber gasket in center of hole in top saddle clamp. d} Place top saddle clamp assembly over hole so that lance fits into hob. e) Place top and bottom saddle clamp around water pipe. f) Screw valve body into opening in top saddle clamp and tighten. NOTE: For pipe over 1"O.D., use 1/4"-20, 1o3/4"long bolts. LOCATION a) Locate on inside wall of living area approximately 5' above floor, or in the furnace return air plenum or duct. For return air plenum installation or Humidistat Adapter Plate, Totaline Part #4402 (not included). b) Do not locate control in the direct path of furnace discharge air or drafts from open doors and windows. c) Do not install where operation might be affected by lamps, sunlight, fireplace registers, radiators, concealed air ducts and pipes, or room occupants. d) The basic rubs for location of thermostats also apply to humidistats. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS a) DO NOT ATTEMPTTO REPAIR OR RECALIBRATE CONTROL. Controte requiring service should be returned to your distributor. b) Control must be installed using 24 volts! c) Make sure no bare wires are exposed or insulation damaged. Insulation on wire should extend to head of binding screws. d) Make sure all splices are mechanically and electrically secure. e) To remove dirt or other foreign matter from nylon ribbon and control interior, dust lightly with a fine soft brush. HUMIDISTAT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HUMIDITRAC HUMIDIFIER CONTROL TM For detailed humidifier control installation and wiring instructions, see Form IM°AHC-01 included with humidifier. 1 Wire an electric outlet box to power source other than furnace fan motor circuit. Outlet box can be powered off of the 120 VAC line before it enters the furnace. If furnace accessory terminals are 120 VAC, outlet box can be wired from this location. See manufacturer's recommendations for wiring. Do not use extension cords. 9_ 5. INSTRUCTIONS REVERSE [ 1 0. Connect 1/4" O.D. copper tubing (not furnished) from the saddle valve to the inlet side of the solenoid valve. DOUBLE WRENCH TO PREVENT LEAKING AND VALVE BREAKAGE! Turn on water (Steel or brass pipe), You are now ready to pierce the pipe (copper or plastic pipe).Turn handle until spindle is firmly seated into valve body. The water pipe is now fully pierced. Turning spindle in shuts valve off. 1. Connect 1/2" I.D, plastic hose (not furnished) from unit to floor drain. Be sure drain hose has continuous slope. Use caution if hose damp is used to not over tighten and crack drain spud. NOTE: Do not sweat or directly attach metal drain line to fitting. Do not use somventtype adhesive when connecting pmastic drain hose, since damage to fitting could result. 2 [] Open saddle valve completely and turn on furnace. Turn up humidifier to operate uniL Allow unit to run for five minutes or until water is observed coming out of drain line. Check water connections to see if unit is water tight. Reset humidistat to recommended levek Tap into a water supply line with the saddle valve furnished. The humidifier will function with cold, hot, softened or unsoftened water. The use of service hot water (140°F Max.) and constant blower operation will provide maximum evaporative capacities. NOTE: The saddle valve is designed to be fully opened or closed. Do not use it to regulate water flow. TO INSTALL ON COPPER OR PLASTIC PIPE a) Place rubber gasket in center of hob in top saddle clamp. Place top and bottom saddle clamp around water pipe. Using bolts, tighten saddle clamps evenly - damps should be parallel - DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN. b) Screw valve body into opening in top saddle clamp and tighten. c) Tighten gland nut onto valve body.
