Battery power is consumed whenever the handset isoff of the base unit, even when the handset is not in use. The longer you leavethe handset off of the base unit, the time you can actually talk on the handset willbe shortened. Actual battery performance depends on a combination of howoften the handset is in TALK mode and how often it is in Standby mode.≥If the battery is fully charged, you do not have to place the handset on the baseunit until “RECHARGE” and “ ” are displayed. This will maximize the battery life.≥If you want to keep the battery fully charged at all times, place the handset onthe base unit when handset is not used. The battery cannot be overcharged.≥Clean the handset and the base unit charge contacts with a soft, dry clothonce a month. Clean more often if the unit is subject to grease, dust orhigh humidity. Otherwise the battery may not charge properly.Standby Mode (While the handset is off the base unit)The handset goes into the standby mode after you finish using thehandset (making/answering a call, viewing the Caller List or phone booketc.). The display shows “STANDBY”.The battery operating time is conserved in this mode.Operation Operating timeWhile in use (TALK) Up to about 5 hoursUp to about 5 daysWhile not in use (Standby)Ringer SelectorSet the RINGER selector to ON or OFF.≥When set to OFF, the unit will not ring.PQQX14062ZA-2 04.2.5 10:25 AM ページ 9
