TheMseriestelephoneisdesignedforusebehindaregisteredPBXsystem. Thetelephoneuser
orsysteminstallermustsupplyanRJ‐11modularwalljacktoconnectthistelephonetothePBX
system.ThePBX“stationport”typemustbe“IndustryStandardAnalog”or“POTS.”This
telephonecannotbeusedwith“digital”PBXstationports.
ConnecttheoneendofsuppliedcoiledhandsetcordtoHandsetjackontheleftsideinthefrontof
baseunit.Connectthefreeendofthecoiledhandsetcordtothejackontheleftsideofhandset.
Placethehandsetinitscradle.Connectthesuppliedstraightmodular cord to the TEL LINE jack
locatedontheFRONTofthetelephone. Connecttheremainingendofthiscordtothetelephone
systemRJ‐11walljack. Liftthehandsetandverifythatdialtoneispresent.

•Neverinstalltelephonewiringduringalightningstorm.
•Neverinstalltelephonejacksinwetlocationsunlessthejackisspecificallydesignedforwet

TheMseriesisdesignedtooperatebehindPBXtelephonesystemsratedbetween24voltsand48
volts.Thelinevoltageselectionoftelephoneusestheautodetect,withoutneedingtosetthe
switches.
MessageWaitingSelectors
Thistelephoneautomaticallyrespondstoboth“NEON”orlow‐voltage“LED”signalsviathe
“TYPE”settingwhichisthedefaultatfactory.Ifthereversepolaritymessagesignalingisselected,
justmovetheMWswitchto“LR1”or“LR2”(LRmeans“linereverse”).

1.SpeeddialMemoryKeys:5or10user‐programmablespeed‐dialkeyswith32 digitcapacity.
[FLASH] is storable. Speed‐dial memory is non‐volatile EEPROM, so programming is retained
withouttheneedforbatteries.
2. FLASHKey:Generates a 600ms (0.6S) hook flash at the programmed flash time of
100ms‐1000ms(thedefaultis600ms).Thekeyis locatedbeneathPVCfaceplate,soyouneedto
removethefaceplatetoaccessitforediting.
3. HOLDKey:Functionsas“localhold”key.PressingitallowsHoldLEDtoconstantly blink or

youneedtoremovethefaceplatetoaccessitforediting.
6.MUTEKey:Mutesthespeakerphoneandhandsetmicrophoneduringcall,pressitagaintoturn
onthemicrophone.TheMUTELEDislocateddirectlyabovethe[MUTE]key. Indicatesthestatus
oftheMutefunction. ThemicrophoneismutedwhentheLEDisturnedon.Youcanhearthe
voicefromotherpartyofcall,buttheycannothearfromyou.Pressitagaintoresumethecall.
7.SPKRKey:Activateordeactivatethespeakerphonemode.Pressitonce,theSPKRLEDisturned
on,itmeansthatthespeakerphoneisactivated.Pressitagaintodeactivatethespeakerphone.
8.LINE1Key:WhenpressingLINE1key,theredLEDonLINE1keyturnson,itmeansthatLINE1

(onlyfortwo‐linemodel).
Usethenumericdialpadtodialnumberorpressaprogrammedmemorykeytodialoutit.
Note:Theusercanfreelyselectthelinetomakeacall.Youjust need to press the key of
correspondinglineafterliftingthehandset(onlyfortwo‐linemodel).
AnsweringCallsbyUsingHandsetorSpeakerphone
Whenthephonerings,youcanliftthehandsetorpress[SPKR]keytobegintheconversation.
YoucanalsodirectlypresstheLinekeyofthatringingline,the phone will activate the
speakerphonecall(onlyfortwo‐linemodel).
UsingSpeakerphone
The M Series speakerphone is equippedwithasuperiorspeakerphone feature allowing the
handsfreeoperation.Whenmakingor answeringacall,youcanpress[SPKR]keytoactivatethe
telephoneline.ThelitupSPKRLEDshowsthatthespeakerphoneisINUSE.Pressitagaintohang

Bluetoothdevicethathasbeensetrecently.Clickthedevicenameforconnection.The
turningoffofBTLEDrepresentsthatthepairingsucceeds.
c. Clickthemusicplayonmobilephone,thespeakeroftelephonewillgeneratethemelodious
music.
d. Afterthemobilephonesucceedsinpairingwithtelephone,ifthereisanincomingcallon

interfaceconfiguration.Also,unlessthedefaultgatewayofallcomputerswithinLANissetasthe
newIPaddress,theywillnormallyaccesstheInternet.
Subnetmask:ThesubnetmaskofLANwiththegateway.Usually,itis255.255.255.0.

Thewirelessnetworkswitch:Withtheswitchturnedoff,thewirelessnetworkcannotbeused.To
usethewirelessfunction,theoptionmustbeenabled.
Mode:Thewirelessoperationmodeforconfiguringthegatewayhave5optionsof11b/gmixed
mode,11bonly,11gonly,11b/g/nmixedmodeand11nonly(2.4G)etc.The11b/g/nmixedmode
isrecommended.
Networkname:Alterable.Itisusedtolabelthewirelessnetworkandindicatedinthelistof
wirelessnetworkslocatedbythewirelessnetworkadaptor.
Infavorofrecognition,it’srecommendedtochangeitintoothername.Thereareseveralsetting
options.
Broadcastnetworkname:Thegatewaywillstopbroadcastingitsownnetworknametothe
wirelesshost.Ifthereisarequestforwirelessconnection,youneedtomanuallyfillinthenetwork
name.
APisolation:TheisolationrelatestoeachwirelessstationofAP.
Frequency(channel):Thedatasignaltransmissionchannelthattakestheradiosignalasthemedia.
Theselectionscopeis1~14.
IfyouselectAuto,theAPwillautomaticallyselectabestchannelaccordingtothesurroundings.
Channelbandwidth:Theoccupiedchannelbandwidthwhensettingthewirelessdata.Theoptions
