l‘or charging COWON J3 DMB, you should use the USB cable to connect the player to a
PC or charger.
I. Connect between PC and tJSB/EX'I' usrng the USB cablel
The battery will be fully charged in about 5 hours
2. Use the USB Power Adaptor and USB cable to connect to the USB/EXI’ port:
the battery will be iully charged in about 3 hours.
7 When charging the player for the first time or the player has not been charged
tor an extended time‘ Iuily charge the battery bolero use.
COWON JS DMB has built—in Lithium Polymer battery. and it is recommended
to charge the devrce frequently than to fully drscharge and charge the device
to extend the battery lite.
7 When connected to a USB hub, the player may not be charged from the USE
power. Make sure you connect the player directly to the USB port of the PC.

Use the USB cable to connect COWON JG DMD to the PC,
COWON JS OMB displays the tollowing image if properly connected to the PC
(Picture 2)
Also make sure to check My Computer or Wrndows Fxplorer to see ‘rl COWON JS
DMB rs properly connected to the PC (Picture 3).
Copy vrrleo. nutsir: or other files to COWON JS DMD (Picture 4).
When done, ClICk the ' on on the tray bar to safely remove COWON J3 DMB
from the PC.
Click the popup message.
Safely remove the hardware and disconnect the USB cable.

firmware is an embedded software within the hardware, and upgrading it further enhances

system stability and teature sets. Be adwsed that Beta(unoltlcial version) firmware may
cause system malfunctions.
How to upgrade the firmware

Downlead the latest firmware ft'om the SUPPORT section of the Website

Use the USB cable to connect COWON J3 DMB to the PC.

Perform "Safely remove the hardware" function on your PC and disconnect the
USB cable.
When you turn on the product, the firmware upgrade process will start,
the current firmware versron can be checked in Settings ,. System 7 Information.
Fully charge the player before upgrading the trrmware.
Do not turn oft the player betore firmware upgrade is complete tt may
damage the product, and will VOId any warranty.
* Back up any important data before the firmware upgrade as the data in the
memory may be deleted during the process. COWON is not responsible tor
any toss of data, it not backed up.

Music Alarm will play music, and FM Radio alarm will start radio broadcast at the
last tuned frequency.
Scheduled recording for FM Radio will record the last tuned frequency during the
set time, Scheduled recording for tit/l Radio requires more battery power than usual.
Check the battery Status before performing this function.

Automatically turn ott the device after the specitied time even if a tile is being
olayed at that time.

Search for tzluetooth headsets in COWON JS DMB’S KerleIty. Be sure to have the
Bluetooth headset in pairing mode, Pair the COWON JS DMB with the searched
llluctooth headset to use.

* Use
Turn on/oil the Bluetooth mode. Enabling Bluetooth feature may reduce the battery
capacity at a faster rate than usual,

Delete the selected Bluetooth headset Deleted headset must be re searched and

This feature is only compatible with Bluetooth headset.
Once paired, Bluetooth lunclion wrll remain in operation even the Setting mode is
