Troubleshooting Guide
Problem
Possible Solution
Power indicator does not turn on.
— Check the AC powercord; is it
connected properly?
— Rotate VOLUME clockwise until it
'clicks" to turn unit on.
Cannot receive response.
— ls intercom set to designated channel?
— Release TALK when not talking.
— It the intercom is locked, release lock by
pressing TALK or CALL.
— FIotate VOLUME clockwise to
increase sound level.
Cannot talk to other intercom.
— Are both intercoms set to the same
channel?
— Wail until other user has finished
talking.
Strong. continuous "beep" sound.
— Move intercoms further apart to
eliminate audio feedback.
Unit doesn't work.
— Try units in a diIIerent location. II the units
work in a difterent location but not in your
home, there is a problem with your home
concrete wall.

4-CHANNEL FM WIRELESS INTERCOM
Thanks Ior purchasing this 4-channel FM wire-
less intercom ModelAF411. This is an "IN-
STANT' intercom system. Simply plug the
intercom into standard AC outlets. and you're
readyto send and receive calls orto monitor
the room where the stations are installed. All
the saiety and operating instruction should be
read belore the appliance is operated and re-
tained for Iuture relerence.
Features
The intercoms use radiu rrequencies (452-467 MHz)
called channels to communicate with each other.

are transmitting to other stations.

Follow these steps to prepare the stations tor use.
1. To turn on the intercom, rotate VOLUME
Clockwise until it clicks. The CHANNEL (But-
ton) lights. Set VOLUME to mid-range.
2. Set CHANNEL and CALLING tor each sta-
tion to the appropriate channel, as roiiows:
* If you want all the stations to communicate
with each otherat the same time. set all sta-
tions to the same channel.
. it you want to setup separate communica-
tion systems. set each station to a different
channel.
Forexample. at home you could setthe
kiIchen's staIion to channel A, the Iamily
room‘s station to Channel E. the bedroom's
station to Channel c, and the garage to
Channel D. The kitchen can communicate
with the family room by setting CHANNEL
to e and with the bedroom by setting

Calling
FHS Frequencies: WALL MOUNT Follow these steps to talk to another station.

Monitoring
Pressing LOCK has the same elfect as hold-
ing down TALK. Use LOCK to set the inter
corn for monitoring another station's location
(such as a nursery or playroom). or when other
one-way communication is needed.
Follow these instructions to monitor another
location.
1. Press LOCK on the station in the area you
want to monitor.The talk indicator lights.
2. Listen trom your station.
3. To release the lock. press TALK on the
monitored station, The talk indicator goes
out.
Note : You cannot call or talk to the locked
station while LOCK is on. Remember to re-
lease the lock when you tinish monitoring.
Using additional stations
You may add additional stations to the system.
Any A-Channel intercom that transmits on the
same lrequencies is compatible.
CAUTIONS
The tollowing suggestions will help you care

- Keep the station dry, It the station gets wet,
wipe them dry immediately. Liquids might
contain minerals that can corrode the elec-
tronic circuits.
' Use and store the stations only in a normal
temperature environments. Temperature ex-
tremes can shorten the me of electronic de-
vices, damage batteries, and distortor melt
plastic parts.
Dropping them can damage the circuit boards
and can cause the stations to work
improperly.
- Keep the stations away trom dust and dirt,
which can cause premature wear cl pans.
- Wipe the stations with a damp cloth occa-
sionally to keep them looking new. Do not
use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or
strong detergents to clean the stations.
- Moditying or tampering with the station's in-
ternal components can cause a maltunction
and might invalidate the intercom's warranty
and void your FCC authorization to operate

lerence even when it is operating properly. To
determine whether youiintercom is causingthe
intarieranca, turn on the stations, ii the inter-
terence goes away, your intercom is causing
the interlerence. Try to eliminate the
interlerence by:
~ Moving your stations away trom the receiver.
- Connecting your stations to an outlet that is
on a dilferent electrical circuit lrom the re-
ceiver.
It you cannot eliminate the inlerterence. the
Eco requires that you stop using your intercom.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by
the party responsible iorccmpliance could void the
user ‘ s authority to operate the equipment.
The antennas used tor this transmitter must be installed
to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from
all persons and must not be oo-located tor operating in
conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
Important: Do not hold down CALL tor more than In
seconds. The FCC does noI allow you to send a
continuous tone tor more than 10 seconds at a time
on FFtS Ireguencies.
