INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of (25-123 Citizen's
Bond Worlike-Tolkie, It is a portable, user-friendly
2-woy CB radio, convenient to use for any outdoor
activities. lt is best used around the house, in your car
or yacht, or on comping trips.
The unit is powered by one 9-volt battery (not
included).
A crystal has been pre-instolled at the factory so you
can send and receive transmissions on Channel 14.

Commission (FCC) to operate this walkie-talkie. However, you
are required by FCC to read and know Part 95 of FCC Rules.

PREPARATION
lNSTALLATiNG/REPLACING THE BATTERY
The 05-123 uses one 9-volt battery (not included) for power.
Follow these steps to install/replace the battery
I. it the walkie-tolkie is on. turn EH fully upward until it clicks to turn it
off.
2. Press down on the battery door and slide it off in the direction of the
arrow.
3‘ install a fresh battery by connecting the battery‘s terminals to the
battery connector inside the battery compartment. The battery fits
only one way.
4. Place the battery in the battery compartment and replace the
battery door.
Caution :
0 If you do not plan to use the walkie—talkie for several weeks, remove

OPERATION
Please read the intormation contained in the “CB Operation i'ips' before
using this device in order to use it effectively and courteously. This will
help you get more enjoyment from using your walkie talkie.
RECEIVING TRANSMISSIONS
l. For the best performance, fully extend the attached telescoping
antenna before you operate the walkic—talkio.
2. To turn on the walkie~talkie. turn @ downward until you hear it
click.
3. Adiust E to a comfortable listening level.
4. To turn off the walkie-tolkie, turn NOE] upward until you hear it click.

TRANSMITTING
NOTE : it‘s better to try receiving transmissions before you transmit.
. Follow steps 1-3 under ‘Receiving Transmissions'.
Hold the walkie-talkie 20 to 30 mm from your mouth. Then press and
hold down push button on the left side of the walkie~talkie and
speak into the speaker/Microphone in a normal voice.
NOTE : Speaking loud does not enhance your signal and may distort
your transmission.
3, When you finish transmitting. release the push button to hear a reply.
4. To turn off the walkie-tnltrie, turn E upward until you hear it click.
B OPERATION TIPS
0 Wait for a pause in someone else's transmission before you ask for a
break.
0 If you do not receive an answer to your call after a second attempt.

called dead keying)
TRANSMISSION RANGE
The maximum range and quality of CB transmissions vary depending on
following conditions :
0 Amount of power in the battery.
0 How far the antenna is extended.
0 The surrounding terrain — mountains and tall buildings limit the
range.
0 Weather conditions.

NOTE : Your walkie-talkie's transmlssion range can be 1/2 mile or
farther.
USING COMMON lO-CODES
Citizen's band operators have largely adopted the lovcodes for
standard questions and answers. These codes allow faster
communication and better intelligibility in noisy areas. This table lists
codes adopted by the Associated Public Safety Communications
OfficerslAPCO).
