instruction manual to make sure that your VIZCAM moon is compatible with this adapter.

Cleaning — Unplug this equipment from
the wall outlet before cleaning.
Wipe the equipment with a clean soft
cloth if necessary, put a cloth in diluted
neutral detergent and wring it well
before Wiping the equipment with it.
Finally, clean the equipment with a
clean dry cloth. Do not use benzene,
thinner or other volatile liquids or
pesticides as they may damage the
product‘s finish. When using chemically-
treated cleaning clothes, observe those
precautions accordingly.

not recommended in this manual as

Power Sources k The AC Adapter
should be operated only from the type of
power source indicated on the marking

Grounding — This equipment is
equipped with a 3-pronged grounging
plug (a plug having a third grounding
pin).
The 3-pronged grounding plug will fit
into the power outlet. This Is a safety
feature. If you are unable to insert the
plug fully into the outlet, contact your
electrician to replace your obsolete
outlet. Do not defeat me safety purpose
of the grounding-type plug.
Power Cord Protection — Power cords
should be routed so that they are not

when it is left unattended and unused
for long periods of time. disconnect it
from the wall outlet and disconnect the
antenna. This will prevent damage to
the equipment due to lightning and
power-line surges.
Overloading — Do not overload wall
outlets and extension cords as this can
result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
Object and Liquid Entry — Never push
objects of any kind into this equipment
through openings as they may touch
dangerous voltage points or short out
parts that could result in a fire or electric
shock. Be careful not to spill liquid of
any kind onto the equipment.

When Connecting the VIZCAM 100001 to an Existing CanoMedia System

The CanoMedia 1.5 software is needed to use this product. Pieter to the CanoMedia Installation
Guide lor information on upgrading your software.
1. Switch your computer and the CanoMedia camera aft.
2. Unplug the Ac adapter from the power outlet. Then unplug the AC adapter
cord from the CanoMedIa camera and plug it into the DC iN socket on the
VIZCAM 100011.
3. Unplug the camera cable from the CanoMedia camera and plug it into the
BOARD socket on the VIZCAM 10mm.
4. Plug one end of the CCU cable supplied with the VIZCAM 100011 into the
CAMERA socket on the VIZCAM 1000a, and then plug the other end Into the
CAMERA CABLE socket on the CanoMedia camera.
5. Plug the AC adapter back into the power outlet.
When Installing the VIZCAM 100m and the CanoMedia System at the

Same Time
1. install the CanoMedIa hardware and software.
Reter to the Installation Guide supplied with CanoMedia tor information on installing the CanoMedie
system.
2. Check that your computer and the CanoMedia camera are both switched
off.
Check also that the AC adapter is disconnected.
3. Plug one end of the camera cable supplied with the CanoMedla system into
the BOARD socket on the VIZCAM 10000: and then plug the other end Into
the CAMERA port on your computer.
4. Plug the Ac adapter supplied with the CenoMedia system Into the DC IN
socket on the VIZCAM 1000a.
5. Plug one end of the CCU cable supplied with the VIZCAM 10000: Into the
CAMERA socket on the VIZCAM 1000a, and then plug the other end Into the
CAMERA CABLE socket on the CanoMedia camera.
6. Plug the Ac adapter back into the power outlet.
Switch the computer and the CanoMedia camera on
and start up the CanoMedia application program.
The tally lamp on the VIZCAM 100011 lights and the image from the
CanoMadia camera appears m the viewer window on the monitor.
When you switch the computer on, the status of the LEDs is as follows:
0 CAMERA button LED : Off (CanoMedia camem image)
0 EM button LED : Off (actor image)
0 BRIGHTNESS button LED : On (brightness adjustable)
2. Press the CAMERA button.

camera appears in the viewer window. If you press the button again,
the LED goes ofl and the image lrorn the CanoMedia camera reappears

3. Turn aperture ring and set aperture to 2.8.
Alter turning the power an, the equipment will adjust brightness
automatically; set aperture to 2.8 tor nomral shooting.
4. Point the camera head at the subject. Refer to the Image
in the viewer window on the monitor when you are
adiusting the camera head angle.
A caution Always hold base firmly In place when adjusting the position
of the camera head.
Failure to hold base in place may result in injury, if the equipment
drops or tips over.

Taming the focus ring fully clockwise (distant) may cause the entire
image plane to become detocused.
The “no" mark on the locus ring indicates the approximate location
for infinite distance focusing.

A A Caution For safety reasons, always unplug the Ac adapter from the
power outlet It the equipment will not be used for an extended
period.

Advanced Operation
The functions described here can only be used when the image from
the VtZCAM 100011 camera is displayed.
Capturing Still Images
1. Press the SNAP SHOT button.
When you press the button. a snapshot (still image) at the current screen
image is taken and a tile name Input window appears.
2. Type in a name and save the Image.
Refer to the CanoMedia User's Guide tor details.
Displaying an Image in Black and White
1. Press the EM button.
The E/W button LED lights and the image appears in black and white,
It you press the button again, the LED goes oft and the color image
reappears.
Adjusting the Brightness
1. Check that the BRIGHTNESS button LED is lit.
It the LED is not lit, press the BHtGHTNESS button.
2. Turn the BRIGHTNESS adiustment knob until the Image
on the monitor is set to the desired brightness.
it you press the BHIGHTNESS button again. the LED goes off and you
can no longer adjust the brightness,

Shooting Lanscape A4 Size Originals
Adjust the angle between camera head and upper arm, and
the angle between upper arm and lower arm. so that both
are 90°. This allows 3 horizontal A4-size original to fill the
monitor screen.
Shooting Vertical A4 Size Originals
An entire AA~slze portrait original will not fit within the monitor
screen at one time, but placing the original to the side at
the equipment makes lt easier to move the original lor
viewing the desired ponion.
Shooting Small Subjects, such as
Postage Stamps
Moving the camera head close to the subject can darken
the image, as insufficient light reaches the equipment.
Please use external illumination in such cases.
Shooting Human Subjects
Rotate camera head and aim at subject until subject appears
