AUTO DIALER – MODEL SD-001 / SD-001R  1. Introduction Congratulations on your purchase of the Auto Dialer Model SD-001R. The SD-001R is an advanced emergency dialer which is connected to a phone line for assistance to monitoring station during emergency thru 2-way voice conversation with Contact ID compatibility.  Warning:  This system is designed to be installed and programmed by trained professionals. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MODIFY ANY SETTINGS BY YOURSELF.   The RS232 interface is used for update by maintainer. The NC/NO terminal is for the maintainer to install the hardwired device for troubleshooting.  No service parts for the end customer. . Consult with your installer or dealer if you experience any problems with the system.  In this package, you should find the following: ․One Auto Dialer Model SD-001R ․One Telephone Cord ․One AC adapter ․One Rechargeable Battery for the Auto Dialer ․One User’s Instructions  2. Main Unit Following diagram shows several key features on the main unit.  Emergency Dialer Speaker LED Indication CANCEL Button. URGENT Button Siren / Buzzer Microphone Front URGENT Button – Press this button to activate the emergency call CANCEL Button – Press this button to terminate or cancel the emergency call LED Indication – Displays the status of the dialer Speaker – Speaker for 2-way voice conversation Microphone – Speak to this microphone during 2-way voice conversation POWER LINE PHONE  Back On / Off – Turn the dialer On / Off Power – Connect AC adapter for power Line – Connect telephone line Phone – Connect a telephone to share the same phone line NC/NO - The NC/NO terminal is for the maintainer to install the hardwired device for troubleshooting.  Warning: DO NOT TURN OFF THE MAIN UNIT. IT SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT FUNCTION DURING ANY EMERGENCY SITUATION. DO NOT DISCONNECT ANY OF THE PHONE LINE OR POWER ADAPTER. IF YOU SEE
ANY LOOSE CONNECTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR INSTALLER IMMEDIATELY.  3. Remote Control (Optional Accessory)  LED Speed Dial Button Panic Button Panic Button– Press this button to activate the emergency call Speed Dial Button– Press this button to activate a speed dial call  4. Operation Under normal standby condition, the green LED on the dialer should be on constantly. If the red LED flashes constantly, that means you are having some failure issues. Please refer to section 5 for System Failure.   During Emergency – Press URGENT Button  During an emergency, you may initiate a call by pressing the “URGENT” red button, this will initiate a call with the monitoring station. You will hear the dial tone that the dialer is calling. Once the line is picked up by the monitoring station, you may start the voice conversation with the operator at the monitoring station. You can speak when the orange LEDs are flashing, indicating the microphone is activated. After the call, there is no need to disconnect the line. The operator will disconnect the line for you. If you initiate a call by accident, press the “CANCEL” green button will stop the call from dialing to the monitoring station.  Remote Control (Optional Accessory)  You may also initiate a call by pressing the large red button on the remote control. When the button is pressed, LED on the remote will flash indicating a signal is being transmitted to the dialer. Just wait for the operator to pick up the call before you can start the voice conversation. The speed dial button allows you to call a pre-programmed phone number (not monitoring station). When the speed dial button is pressed, it will dial to this phone number. Please consult with your installer so they can program a suitable speed dial number for you.   5. System Failure The system will monitor itself for failures, such as: 1) AC power failure (No AC power from the adapter) 2) Phone line failure (No phone line is connected) 3) Backup battery failure (Backup battery is low) During a system failure, the dialer will beep for 20 seconds and the red LED will flash. When there is a failure condition, you should consult with the installer. You can disable the failure beeping while it is sounding if you press the “CANCEL” green button.  6. FCCThe Auto Dialer is approved by the FCC and it complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Its operation is subject to the following two conditions : 1. This device may not cause harmful interference. 2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undersired operation. WARNING: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

WARRANTY If, within one year from date of purchase, this product should become defective (except battery), due to faulty workmanship or materials, it will be repaired or replaced, without charge. Proof of purchase and a Return Authorization are required.  8.
