The TC-925 has 30 channels with Optimum Channel Memory. Optimum Channel Memory
provides fast and clear channel selection The scanning circmt scans all 30 channels in your
neighborhood to find the best available channel, Once it finds clear channels, it selects and
remembers the three best channels. When you press TALK to call out or receive a call, the unit
automatically provides you wl|h the best channel. Whenever you place the handset in the base

SWITCH SETTINGS
The TC-925 has one switch on the side of the handset and three switches on the back of the base
unit.
POWER SAVER/RINGER ON-OFF
The TC-925 is shipped with the HANDSET RINGER SWITCH set to “PWR SAVER” (the ringer is
off) When set to PWR SAVER (power saver), the battery power is conserved. Turn the handset
to “RINGER ON" before use.
RINGER ON — The ringer is on and the handset will ring when an incoming call or paging signal is
received When the handset is out of the cradle, the rechargeable batteries will last up to seven
days in this mode (the PWR SAVER is off).
POWER SAVER (PWR SAVER) ON - When an incoming call or a paging signal is received the
handset will not ring, but all other handset functions will operate. The rechargeable batteries Will
last up to 2 months in Ihts mode (the ringer is off),
RINGER ONIOFF
Set the RINGER ONIOFF SWITCH on the base to control the telephone ringer. The base ringer ls
preset to "ON "
ON = Base ringer is turned on
OFF = Base ringer is turned off.

The answering machine is shipped With the RING SELECT SWITCH set to 4 rings, Set the RING
SELECT SWITCH to 2. 4 or TS (Tollsaver) to select the number of rings before the TC-925
answers.
2 = The TC-925 will answer on the second ring.
4 = The T0925 will answer on the fourth ring.
T8 = When calling to retrieve messages from a remote location, Tollsaver will help eliminate toll
charges by letting you know if there are any new messages before the TC-925 answers,
When set to T8. the TC-925 answers on
Second ring = NEW messages
Fourth ring = NO new messages. Hang up after three rings to avoid toll charges.
- NOTE: Afler you have retrieved messages, «mm a remote location or at the machine) Tollsaver will reset to answer
on the fourth rlng until a new message is recorded.
TONE/PULSE
This switch configures the TC-925 to dial out with either louchtone or pulse signals to match the
service supplied by your local telephone company The TC-925 is shipped with the TONE/PULSE
SWITCH set to “TONE." If you have rotary or pulse service, set this switch to “PULSE.”
PULSE : for Rotary dialing or Pulse services
TONE = for Touchtone service
DIGITAL OUTGOING AND INCOMING MESSAGES
The greeting and incoming messages are recorded on a digital chip, which reduces mechanical
components and increases reliability. The T0925 allows a total of14 minutes of recording time
for your greeting and incoming messages. Install a 9 volt battery in the base unit to protect your
greeting and incoming messages in case ofa power failure. (See batten installation gage xx)
Otherwise your greeting. incoming messages and the time/day will be lost, even during a short
power failure. (The W battery is not included.)
Your all digital answering machine provides you with the following advantages:
1. Reliability: There are no moving parts to break The use of electronic components effectively
increases the life of your machine
2. Operational Ease: There is no tape to rewind or entangle. You no longer have to worry
about replacing worn or damaged tapes.
3. Instant Access"- to Messages: All messages are recorded digitally and therefore can be
accessed instantly for playback In addition, other features such as Message File, Skip &
Repeal and Selective Save 8. Erase are only possible on all digital machines.

those recorded on a microcassette.
GREETING BYPASS
Frequent callers can skip yourgreeting when they call to leave a message. Instruct them to press
# on their touchtone keypad any time after the TC-925 answers their call.
AUTO EXTENSION DISCONNECT
You can answer a call from any extension phone connected to the same line as the TC-925. Pick
up any extension phone after the T0925 has answered a call. The unit will automatically stop
playing your greeting or recording a message If it does not stop. briefly press and release the
HOOK-SWITCH on the extenSlon phone.

After TALK is pressed. the TC-925 selects the best available channel. If you hear noise or
interference while uslng the T0925, press CHANNEL on the handset to manually change
channels.
MODEM MONITOR”
Modem MonitorTM constantly scans the telephone line and protects the modem and fax
connections when a call attempt is made from the TC-925 or any phone that includes the Modem
MonitorTM feature. It distinguishes between data and standard voice communication and allows

The indicator reduces unwanted interruptions.
STANDBY MODE
When the handset is in the TALK mode and placed in the cradle, it will automatically disconnects
the call and returns to Standby Mode. It is not necessary to press TALK to end a call when you
return the handset to the charging cradle.
RECORD GREETING
You can record a greeting up to 20 minutes In length. The greeting is recorded on a digital chip,
Be sure the TC-925‘s INDICATORS are lit or flashing.
Set the VOLUME CONTROL at midpoint (located on right side of T0925).
l NOTE The sound level is automatically adjusted when the greeting is played over the pndne Iirle

You Will hear a beep and “re" (record) Will appear in the display.
Speak loudly and clearly about 7" from the microphone located at the lower right hand corner of

You can listen to your greeting anytime when the T0925 is turned on.
Press GREETING CHECK. (located under the lid of T0925)
The TC-925 will play your greeting and reset to answer new calls.
SET THE TIME/DAY
Set the current time and day. The TC-925 will stamp each message with the time and day.
Press TIME SET (located under the lid )You will hear:

Press SKIP or REPEAT(on the handset or the base) until the correctday is announced.

ONIOFF
Press ON/OFF (located under the lid) to turn the answering machine on and off. The
MESSAGE/ON-OFF INDICATOR on the base will light, and "0" Will appear in display when the
TC-925 is on The speakerphone and ringer will operate with the unit off. but no messages will be
recorded.
TALKING CLOCK
The TC-925 also functions as a clock. Touch one button for the synthesized voice to announce
the time and day.

CALL SCREENING
Call Screening allows you to hear who is calling before you answer the phone.
Set the VOLUME CONTROL (located on the right side) to midpoint.
The TC-925 will answer yourcall and play your greetings through the speaker. You will then hear
the caller through the speaker.

Hi John, this IS Bob...
If you want to speak to your caller. pick up the handset and press TALK. press
SPEAKERPHONE on the base. or pick up any extension phone connected to the same line
as your T0925. The TC-925 will automatically stop recording. (See page xx for Auto Extension
Disconnect )
MESSAGE/ON-OFF INDICATOR
The MESSAGE/ON—OFF INDICATOR on the base has four settings:
1. OFF = the machine is off,
2. ON with “0” in the display = the machine is ON but no messages have been recorded.
3. Light flashes quickly = new messages have been received and not yet played.
4. Light flashes slowly = messages have been played and saved

MESSAGE COUNTER
The TC-925's digital display shows the total number of new and saved messages received, (This
does not include MESSAGE FILE messages.)
PLAY MESSAGES
The MESSAGE/ON-OFF INDICATOR on the base flashes quickly when new messages are
received. The message count for the total number of messages will appear in the display
Adjust the VOLUME CONTROL (located on the right side).
PLAY NEW MESSAGES
When messages have been received and not played yet, the MESSAGE/ON-OFF INDICATOR on
the base will flash quickly, The total number of new and previously saved messages will be
displayed

total number of new and previously saved messages (not including Message File messages) will

SKIP FORWARD
You can skip forward through messages. The message number will appear in the display.
Press SKIP (on the handset or base) once to skip forward to the next message
VARIABLE SPEED PLAYBACKTM
Variable Speed PlaybackTM allows you to play your messages 50% faster or 50% slower. You
can swnch between slow, fast or normal speed during message playback.
Slow Playback: From Normal Playback, press SLOW (on the base) onoe. The TC-925 will play
your selected message 50% slower than normal.
Fast Playback: From Normal Playback, press FAST (on the base) once The TC-925 will play
your selected message 50% faster than normal.
Normal Playback: To return to Normal Playback speed from Slow Playback Mode, press FAST
once To return to Normal Playback from Fast Playback Mode, press SLOWonce.
Once the selected message has played in fast or slow playback speed. the TC-925 will resume
normal playback speed.
PAUSE MESSAGE PLAYBACK
You can temporarily pause message playback ug to 5 minutes The TC-925 will not answer calls
in the pause mode.
Press ALL or NEW(on the base) during message playback The MESSAGE/ON—OFF
lNDlCATOR on the base will flash slowly and “P" (pause) WlII appear in the display.
You have 3 options during pause:
Press ALL or NEW again to resume listening to messages.
Leave the ”TC-925 in pause mode. It will automatically reset to answer calls after 5 minutes All
messages Will be saved.
Press ON/OFF (under the lid) twice to end pause. All messages will be saved.
REPLAY ALL MESSAGES
To replay all received and saved messages.
Press the ALL button on the base after hearing:
End of messages,
AUTOMATIC SAVE
If you do not press SAVE/HOLD or ERASE/FLASH while listening to messages or after playing
them. the TC-925 Will automatically save all the messages You will hear “End ofmessages"and
the display will show the total message count
ERASE INDIVIDUAL MESSAGES
You can erase specific messages while saving others
Press ERASE/FLASH while listening to a speCific message.

Message File offers a convenient way to store important messages. long messages or separate
messages for business. personal use or for other users,
MESSAGE FILE INDICATOR

RECORD A MEMO
You can record a memo for another household member or as a reminder for yourself. A memo
can be recorded up to 5 minutes in length and played at the machine or in remote operation. The
memo will be stamped with the time and day it was recorded.
Press MEMO/CONV.
You will hear a beep and "re" (record) will appear in the display.
Begin speaking into the microphone (located at the bottom right-hand corner) about 7" from the
base unit.
Press MEMO/CONV to end the recording
RECORD A CONVERSATION
The TC-925 allows you to record important telephone conversations while using the
speakerphone, The conversation will be stamped with the time and day. A conversation cannot be
recorded from an extension phone
Press MEMO/CONVany time during a speakerphone conversation.
When “rc” (record) appears in the display‘ the T0925 begins recording
Press MEMO/CONV, SPEAKERPHONE or hang up to end the recording,

PLAY, SAVE & ERASE MEMOS or

ERASE MESSAGES page xx.

CALL SCREENING
When the phone rings, the TC-925 will answer the call. You may use the handset to screen your
phone calls.
Be sure the MESSAGE/ON-OFF INDICATOR on the base unit is on.
Press SCREEN/REMOTEIO listen from the cordless handset. You will hear the TC-925 play
your greeting and your caller leave a message.
To speak to the caller, press TALK on the handset. The unit will stop recording.
I NOTE: DO NOT press ONIOFF on the base unit as you may disconnect your caller
To hang up, press TALK or return the handset to the base unit The unit will automatically reset
to answer new calls.
HANDSET MESSAGE WAITING INDICATOR
In the Standby Mode, If you have messages. the MESSAGES INDICATOR on the handset
flashes for 7 plus seconds after the handset is used. (In the Standby Mode the TALK INDICATOR
on the handset Is not lit.)
NOTE
I The MESSAGES INDICATOR on the handset does hot flash for messages stored In Message File.
MESSAGE PLAYBACK FROM HANDSET
You can play messages through the handset. Make sure the handset is in the Standby Mode and
the base unit is “ON."
Press SCREEN/REMOTE and then PLAY(3 on the keypad). You will hear a beep.
After listening to messages to exit the retrieval mode:
Return the handset to the base cradle.
OR
Wait 7 seconds
OR
Press SCREEN/REMOTE again.
NOTES:
I if you hang up during handset message retrieval. all messages will be saved
I If you do not have any massages, you Will hear four beeps.
REPEAT MESSAGES
You can repeat the current message.
Press REPEAT (* TONE key) once to repeat the current message.
SKIP BACKWARD
Skip backward message by message
Press REPEAT (* TONE key) twice to skip baclwvard to the previous message. Press
REPEAT each time you want to skip backward through a message.
SKIP FORWARD
You can skip forward through messages.
Press SKIP (# key) once to skip forward to the next message.

Messages may be erased wrthin 7 seconds after hearing the last message and “End of
messages. ”
Press ERASE (4 on the handset keypad) after hearing "End ofmessages.”
ERASE INDIVIDUAL MESSAGES
Erase specific messages while saving others.
Press ERASE (4 on the handset keypad) during a specific message.
AUTOMATIC SAVE
Ityou do not press SAVE(1 on the handset keypad) or ERASE (4 on the handset keypad)
while listening to messages or afler hearing "End ofmessages, " the TC-925 will automatically
save all messages.
ANSWER A CALL DURING PLAYBACK
Ifa call comes in while you are playing your messages through the handset. the answering
machine Will not answer the call. Your phone will ring if the ringer is set to “ON."
Press TALK on the handset to answer the incoming call.
To hang up and continue listening to your messages, press TALK, SCREEN/REMOTE and
then PLAY(3 on the keypad).
After listening to messages, return the handset to the base or wait 7 seconds to exit the retrieval
mode
FORWARD MESSAGES TO MESSAGE FILE
To store messages into Message File
Press SCREEN/REMOTE on the handset and then PLAY(3 on the handset keypad) to
playback your messages.
Press M. FILE (6 on the handset keypad) during message playback, The green MESSAGE FILE
lNDlCATOR on the base will flash quickly to show that a newly transferred message has been
saved in Message File.
NOTE.
I If SAVE is pressed at the end OI message playback, than all messages will be saved in (he mam Inmhon, and the
messages that were forwarded during playback wIII also be saved in Message File

When playing messages in Message File, you can utilize the convenient playback features such
as: Skip/Repeat, and Selective Save/Erase,
Press SCREEN/REMOTE on the handset and then M. FILE (6 on the handset keypad)
Messages stored in this location will be played. You will hear tour beeps if no messages are in
Message File After the last message |s played you will hear two beeps
To SELECTIVE SAVE/ERASE messages. see page xx and xx
SAVE ALL or ERASE ALL messages. see page xx and xx
RECORD A MEMO
You can record a memo up to five minutes in length. Recorded memos will be played along With
the incoming messages in the order in which they were recorded.
Be sure the TALK INDICATOR on the handset is not lit (The handset is in the Standby Mode)
Press SCREEN/REMOTE on the handset,
Press MEMO (2 on the handset keypad),
When the RECORD/PAGE-INTERCOM INDICATOR above the 2 button stops flashing on the
handset. the TC-925 will begin recording.
Press MEMO again to end the recording.
CONVERSATION RECORD
The TC-925 allows you to record important telephone conversations.
Press SCREEN/REMOTE on the handset during your phone conversation.
Press CONV(5 on the handset keypad).
When the RECORD/PAGE-INTERCOM INDICATOR above the 2 button on the handset keypad
stops flashing, the T0925 will begin recording,
Press CONV again to end the recorcung.
NOTE: In certain states, it is unlawful and may lead to criminal penalties to record any
telephone conversation without prior consent of all parties.
TELEPHONE OPERATION AT HANDSET
CHARGING THE BATTERIES
Charge the cordless handset batteries for 12-15 hours before using the handset for the first time
or after installing a new battery pack. The handset is always charging while it is in the base unit
and cannot be overcharged,
Check the AC Adapter to see that it is connected correctly.
Place the handset in the base unit The CHARGING/LINE IN USE/MODEM MONITOFE‘"I
INDICATOR on the base unit lights to indicate the T0925 is charging.
HANDSET LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
When the battery pack needs recharging, the LO BA'I'I' INDICATOR (LOW BATTERY) on the
handset will flash. You may also notice a reduction in the quality of your cordless handset
communications Return the cordless handset to the base unit when the LO BATT INDICATOR is
flashing,

BATTERIES — The TC-925 is shipped with the handset battery pack
installed. If it becomes necessary to remove or replace the batteries

STANDBY MODE
When the handset is in the Talk Mode and is returned to the base unit, it will automatically return
to the Standby Mode and disconnect the cell. It is not necessary to press TALK to disconnect the
call. In the Standby Mode, INDICATORS Will not be lit.
HANDSET VOLUME CONTROL
Press VOLUME (+ or -) to change the volume level of the handset during a conversation or
during message playback
Press VOLUME (+ or -) to increase or decrease the sound level to one of three levels: Normal,
Middle or High The volume automatically stays at the last programmed setting.
ALARM
The TC—925 cordless handset operates like any other telephone handset. You can use it in the
yard. at the mailbox orany place within the operating range of the base unit.
1. Ifyou move out of the base unit's operating range, you will heara waming tone. Move closer to
the base unit to deactivate the alarm, lryou remain out of range for too long, the T0925 will
disconnect from the line.
2. If the handset loses its security code you erI also hear an alarm tone To reset this security
code place the handset in the base unit for a few seconds. Pick up the handset and try your
call again
3 Interference from other appliances may also cause the alarm to sound. To prevent
interference, move the base unit to another location and fully extend the base unit antenna.
AUTO HANG UP
When the handset is in the Talk Mode and is returned to the base unit, it will automatically return
to the Standby Mode and disconnect the call. It is not necessary to press TALK on the handset
to disconnect the call.
PLACING A CALL
Pick up the handset and press TALK.
Wait fordial tone and dial the phone number
NOTE.

FLASH/CALL WAITING
If you subscribe to a call walling service and you receive another call while using the phone, press
FLASH (on the handset) to answer the second call. Press FLASH again to return to the first
call. Flash may also be used on a business phone system (CENTREX‘ PBX) for transferring calls
You can use Remote Operation from most touchtone or cellular phones to retrieve, replay‘ erase
and save messages, Your 3-dlgit access code is labeled on the bottom of the unit.

You may store up to 10 of your most frequently dialed numbers in autodial memory. Autodial
station numbers can be up to 32 digits in the Tone Mode and is digits in the Pulse Mode. It you
exceed the allotted autodial station numbers, you will hear an error beep.
Press MEMORYon the handset You will hear a beep.
Enter one of the telephone numbers you want to store in the autodial memory by dialing it on the
keypad. You will hear a beep alter entering each digit.
Press MEMORY.
Press a keypad number (0-9) as the autodial location for that number. You will hear a beep.
Repeat steps 1-4 to store up to 10 autodial numbers.
Write the names and telephone numbers of the people whose numbers you have stored on the
709255 autodial index card (located in the handset cradle).

USING AUTODIAL
Press MEMORY(on the handset).
Press the autodial station number you wish to dial (0-9 on the keypad) The TC-925 will dial your

TONE/PULSE MIXED DIALING
The TC-925 should be set to “TONE“ (see page x). If you live in a pulse or rotary dialing area, you
can use Tone to access a long distance service (i e Sprint or MCI). bank by phone or any other
servrce that requires touchtone dialing.
Press 5? TONE to temporarily change from Pulse to Tone Mode after the line is connected,
Dial your local telephone number and wait for the line to connect (You dialed your call in pulse
mode.)
Press xfl‘ TONE on the handset or base keypad
Dial the tone numbers. This could be a special service or access number
Hang up and the T0925 automatically returns to the Pulse Mode.
PROGRAMMABLE PAUSE
Pause is convenient for use on a business telephone system (i.e,; PBX) when an 8 or 9 must be
dialed to reach an outside phone line. This feature can also be used for a long distance service
(i.e . MCI) where you have to wait for a second dial tone before you continue dialing
Follow instructions on page xx for storing autodial numbers,

To use the intercom from the base unit, send a paging signal to the handset. When the handset
user presses PAGE/INTERCOM, you Will be connected via the intercom channel.
To page the handset from the base unit. the HANDSET RINGER SWITCH must be turned “on", or
the page tone WlI| not be heard.
Press PAGE/INTERCOM to send a paging signal to the handset The handset Will beep
intermittently for 15 seconds.
When the handset user presses PAGE/INTERCOM, within 15 seconds of the base user
pressing PAGEIINTERCOM, the handset and the base unit Wlll be connected by the intercom and
“IC” (intercom) Will appear in the display
To terminate the intercom call, press PAGE/INTERCOM on either the handset or the base

REMOTE OPERATION
You can use Remote Operation from most touchtone or cellular phones to retrieve, replay, erase

LOW BATTERY INDICATOR ON THE BASE UNIT

if there is a power failure and a 9(v) base battery is iiisiaueu, your greeting. incoming messages
and time/day setting will be saved until the battery power is depleted,
If battery power is low in the base, "Lb" (low battery) will flash in the display for about two seconds
after the base or handset is used.
INSTALLING A 9V BATTERY
To protect your messages and programmed intormation during a power failure or to replace the
battery when “Lb” appears in the display:
Turn the TC-925 over and remove the battery cover
Install a 9V alkaline battery. Make sure the battery is connected correctly.
Replace the cover The battery connection will not be activated until the cover is replaced.
POWER FAILURE
if a power failure occurs, "PF" (power failure) will appear in the display when the power is
restored.
TWO-LINE INSTALLATION
Two-line installations may require a two-line T-Adapter for your machine to operate correctly, The
T-Adapter allows you to connect your machine to Line 1 or Line 2. The TC-925 will only answer
one line See the accessory order form on the last page of the Owner's Guide to order the T-
Adapter
MULTI-LINE INSTALLATION
Installations With more than two lines, such as a business phone system, may require a separate
RJ11 Jack for answering machines Please contact your telephone equipment provider for
additional information.
You can use the TC-925 as an extension phone on a business phone system, but some systems
will require that you install an A+A1 Adapter to light the nose indicator on the receptionist’s
console, See the accessory order form on the last page of this owner's guide to order an A+A1
Adapter.
CLEANING THE TC-925
CAUTION: Disconnect the TC-925 from the power outlet before cleaning.
Clean the battery charging contacts on the base unit and the handset with a soft cloth once a
month Clean the antenna, and the plastic cabinet of the base unit and the handset, with a soft
cloth only Do not use excess water or cleaning liquid ofany kind.
HANDSET BATTERY INSTALLATION
If it becomes necessary to replace the battery pack:
Press down on the battery compartment cover and slide it toward the bottom of the handset.
Install the new battery pack with the red wire on the right side of the black Wire (see drawing).
Replace the battery cover by sliding it up from the bottom.
Place the handset in the base unit and charge the battery pack for 12—15 hours.
NOTE
I Autodial memory will be kept for about one minute after removing the battery pack.
WALL MOUNTING

The TC-925 can easily wall mounted. If you have a standard telephone wall plate, follow steps 3»
9. ltyou do not have a standard telephone wall plate. you will have to install two screws into the
wall on which you will be mounting the unit. The screws and washers are included with your unit.
1 Slide the washers over the screws
2 Mount the screws into the wall. Use the Template (to the right) to space the screws correctly
(If you have a standard wall plate. place the unit over the screws on the wall.)
Snap the base onto the back of the unit. The cord should come out at the top of the base.
Plug the telephone cord into a wall Jack,
Plug the AC Adapter into the wall outlet.
Place the unit over the screws so they fit into the slots on the bottom of the unlt and sl|de the
unit down.
7. Plck up the handset and press TALK. You should hear a dial tone

WARNING: Use only NiCd Rechargeable Battery Pack
(3.6 volts 600 mAh.)
Recorded messages are cut off.
The TC-925 is designed to disconnect from the "he after a caller stops talking. Calls may be cut
off if a four second pause is detected, if the caller does not speak loud enough, or if the message
is less than four seconds.
The TC-925 does not respond when you enter your remote access code during the
greeting.
Try re-enterlng the correct code after the beep.
Between messages there Is an operator recording or a beep and dial tone.
The caller has hung up without leaving a message A shorter greeting will reduce the frequency of
these recordings
You have more than one telephone number and are experiencing difficulty.
See MULTI-LINE INSTALLATION. page xx,
There Is no sound during playback.
Check and adjust the volume control.
“Lb” flashes in the display or L0 BATT INDICATOR on the handset Ilghts.
It "Lb" (low power) appears in the base display, you should replace the 9(V) base battery. When
the LO BATT INDICATOR flashes on the handset. the handset needs to be charged.
The unit does not automatically stop playing the greeting or recording a message when an
extension phone is picked up.
Briefly press and release the HOOK-SVI/ITCH on the extension phone
After several attempts the TC-925 wlII not operate properly.
Reset the T0925 by unplugging the AC ADAPTER PLUG from the back of the unit form
seconds and remove the battery (lf one is installed). The greetings, incoming messages and
time/day stamp will be lost. Re—record the greeting and set the time and day.
If this action does not fix the problem, call the CASIO PHONEMATE Helpline CASIO
PHONEMATE’S helpline staff can often resolve problems or recommend repair service when
needed.
Unless you live close to a CASIO PHONEMATE Seerce Center, you may be required to mail a
product to CASIO PHONEMATE for repair To mail the product to the service center you should
1. Package the unit in its original box or a comparable package.
2. Include a clear and specific explanation of the problem.
3 Include your name, address, and phone number.
4. Provide a legible photocopy of the dated store receipt for warranty purposes
