n About the Safety Symbols
Various symbols are used in this User’s Guide and on the product itself to ensure safe operation and to prevent injury to you and others,
and to prevent physical damage. The meanings of the symbols are explained below.

Warning
Do not lean against or climb up on the Signage Unit or screen. Doing so can cause the item to tip over, creating the risk of fire,
electric shock, and personal injury.
Be sure to locate the Signage Unit on a flat, stable surface. Locating the Signage Unit on an unstable surface can cause it to
fall, creating the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.
Make sure that insects do not get into the Signage Unit case. Insects inside the case can cause malfunction.
●● Fire, odor, heat generation, and other abnormalities
Should you ever notice fire, strange odor, or any other abnormality, immediately stop using the Signage Unit. Continued use
creates the risk of fire and electric shock. Immediately perform the steps below.

●● Do not use a malfunctioning product
Immediately stop using the Signage Unit if the screen appears abnormal, or if any other abnormal operation occurs even
though you are operating the Signage Unit correctly. Continued use creates the risk of fire and electric shock. Immediately
perform the steps below.
1. Turn off power.
2. Unplug the power plug.
3. Request servicing and repair from your original dealer or authorized CASIO service center.
●● Battery
Misuse of batteries can cause them to leak and stain the area around them, or to explode, creating the risk of fire and personal injury.
Make sure that you always observe the following precautions.
•• Never try to take batteries apart and do not allow them to become shorted.
•• Never expose batteries to heat or throw them into fire.
•• Never try to charge batteries.
•• Take care that the battery is oriented correctly when you load it.
●● Button batteries

•• Keep button batteries out of the reach of small children to make sure they are not swallowed accidentally. Should a button
battery ever be swallowed, contact a physician immediately.

Misuse of the AC adapter creates the risk of fire and electric shock. Make sure that you always observe the precautions below.
•• Make sure that you use a power source with the same voltage as that specified for the AC adapter.
•• Use only the power cord that comes with the Signage Unit.
•• Use only the AC adapter that comes with the Signage Unit.
•• Do not use the power cord that comes with the Signage Unit to power another device.
•• Use only the battery type specified for the remote controller.
•• Remove the battery from the remote controller as soon as possible after it goes dead.
•• Remove the battery from the remote controller if you do not plan to use it for a long time.
•• Do not use the AC adapter that comes with the Signage Unit to power another device.
●● Disposing of batteries
•• Do not overload a single electrical outlet with too many devices.
Make sure that you dispose of used batteries in accordance with the rules and regulations in your local area.
Misuse of the AC adapter can damage it and create the risk of fire and electric shock. Make sure that you always observe the
precautions below.
●● Cleaning the interior of the Signage Unit
•• Never place heavy objects on the AC adapter and never expose it to heat.
Allowing dust to build up inside the Signage Unit by not cleaning it for long periods creates the risk of fire and accident, and can cause
loss of projection luminosity. Periodically clean the interior of the Signage Unit.
•• Never try to modify the AC adapter or subject it to excessive bending.
•• Do not twist the power cord or pull on it.
•• Should the power cord become damaged, Contact your original dealer or authorized CASIO service center.
Laser Precautions
The projector built into the Signage Unit is a Class 1 laser device that conforms to IEC 60825-1.
The Signage Unit has a built-in laser module. Disassembly or modification is very dangerous and should never be attempted.
Never touch the AC adapter while your hands are wet. Doing so creates the risk of electric shock.
Operating Precautions
Never use the AC adapter while it is wet. Water creates the risk of fire and electric shock.
●● Do not use or store the Signage Unit in any one of the locations described below. Such locations create the risk of malfunction of and
damage to the Signage Unit.
Never place a vase or any other container of liquid on top of the AC adapter. Water creates the risk of fire and electric shock.
•• Locations exposed to direct sunlight
•• Outdoors or locations where there are large amounts of dust
●● Water and foreign matter
•• Locations subjected to large amounts of oil smoke or other smoke
•• Locations subjected to vibration
Never allow the Signage Unit to become wet. Water creates the risk of fire and electric shock.
•• Near water (fountains, etc.) or other locations where there is risk of wetting
•• Near heating equipment or other sources of high temperatures
Never place a vase or any other container of water on top of the Signage Unit. Water creates the risk of fire and electric shock.
•• Near shop entrances or stairways
●● Note the precautions below when selecting a location for the Signage Unit.
Water or other liquid, or foreign matter (metal, etc.) getting into the Signage Unit creates the risk of fire and electric shock. If
the Signage Unit becomes wet, immediately perform the steps below.
•• Avoid locations where the Signage Unit could be tripped over or otherwise interfere with foot traffic.
•• When routing cables, take care to select locations where there is no chance of their being tripped over.
•• Take care to locate the Signage Unit and screen where individuals (especially children) cannot touch them or hang from them.

Getting Ready
Use the touch panel to configure date and
time settings.
(1) On the date setting screen, specify the current year,
month, and day, and then tap [Set].
(2) On the time setting screen that appears, specify the
current hour and minute and then tap [Set].

●● Be sure to keep all surrounding objects at least 30cm (11.8
inches) from the Signage Unit. Particular care is required to
keep objects away from the intake and exhaust vents on either
side of the Signage Unit.
●● Airflow from air conditioning equipment redirecting heat being

cause heat ripples to appear in the projected image. If this
happens, adjust the airflow of the air conditioning equipment
or move the Signage Unit.

After you are finished using the Signage Unit,
perform the steps below to turn it off.
(1) Hold down the power button until a menu like the one
shown below appears on the touch panel.
●● Do not use or store the Signage Unit in any one of the

(2) On the menu, tap [Power off].
(3) On the confirmation dialog box that appears, tap [OK].
(3) Remove the protective paper from the adhesive surface
inside the battery cover.
(4) Orienting the cable of the Ni-MH battery so it can exit
through the slot provided on the battery cover, affix the
side of the battery to the adhesive surface inside the
battery cover.
•• Press down firmly on the battery to ensure that it is
secured on the adhesive surface.
■■To use the Signage Unit on a network
Visit the CASIO website for information about using the Signage
Unit on a network.
■■Ad Sticker
(1) Use the included hex wrench to remove the center
screw from the screen support.
•• You do not need to remove the two screws on either
side of the screen support.
(2) With the gray surface of the screen facing forward,
insert it into the screen support as shown in the
illustration.
•• Grasp both sides of the screen as you insert it. Take
care not to press down on the screen with excessive
force, etc.
(3) Use the hex wrench to tighten the three screen support
screws and secure the screen in place.

The illustration below shows the location on the Signage Unit
where you can affix a sticker* for an ad, etc.

Do not turn on the Signage Unit without the screen attached.
Doing so creates the risk of strong light from the Signage Unit

Hooks
Note
It may take some time for auto play of content starts after the
Signage Unit is turned on. How much time it takes depends on
the network where the Signage Unit is connected, the current
Signage Unit setup, the volume of new data (when updated data
is downloaded automatically over the network), and other factors.
■■To load an SD card

Find the small cover on the front of the
Signage Unit, and press at the point indicated
by the arrow, below.
If the Signage Unit does not have an SD card
loaded, load a card into the card slot.
•• For more information, see “To load an SD card”.

(5) Insert the Ni-MH battery’s plug into the Signage Unit’s
connector.
(6) Insert the two hooks of the battery cover into the cover
slots, attach the battery cover, and then tighten the two
screws to secure it in place.

Use a LAN cable to connect the Signage Unit
to a network.

Signage Unit to an AC outlet.

Lay the Signage Unit back down in its normal
position, and place it on a firm level surface
for use.
•• This will automatically turn on the Signage Unit and
display the startup screen on the touch panel.
•• If the Signage Unit’s time and date settings have already
been configured, advance to step 8.
•• If time and date settings need to be configured, display
the date setting screen on the touch panel. Advance to
step 7.
•• See “Location Precautions” for information about suitable
locations.
(1) Stand the Signage Unit up on its side.
(2) Loosen the two battery cover screws on the bottom of
the Signage Unit and then remove the cover.

Normal Operation
■■To turn on the Signage Unit
Perform either of the operations below.
•• If the Signage Unit is already connected to a power supply,
press the power button on the front of the Signage Unit.
•• If the Signage Unit is not connected to a power supply, plug its
AC adapter into a power outlet.
Turning on the Signage Unit will display a startup screen on the
touch panel. The startup screen indicates that the Signage Unit is
performing internal processes required to start content play.
The “Play Mode” screen will appear on the touch panel and
content play will start automatically after the internal processes
are complete.

Cleaning
The intake and exhaust vents of the Signage Unit are prone to
dust buildup. Use a vacuum cleaner to periodically clean the vents
and keep them clear of dust. Continued use of the Signage Unit
after dust has accumulated around the intake and/or exhaust
vents can cause excessive heat build up inside the case and lead
to malfunction.
