The Low Frequency (LF) Monitor is a signaling unit used with LFenabled tags to segment zones or designate egress points. The LF
Monitors create a detection “sphere”. When a tag enters the LF
Monitor sphere, the tag’s LF sensor is triggered and the tag
immediately reports this event to the CenTrak Location Engine.
The LF Monitors are typically used to segment zones/areas and for
egress detection. The LF Monitors may be strategically placed on the
floor to define zonal areas. When a tag passes the LF Monitor, the
system knows it passed from one zone to another zone. In the same
manner, the LF Monitors may be placed in elevator banks and
stairwells to determine if a tag passed from one floor to another. An
additional use for the LF Monitors involves attaching the devices
under beds and/or chairs to enable bed-/chair-level location accuracy.
