Intelligent home security1AlertMe in your homeQuick start guideThe Intruder alarm monitors the Motion Sensors andDoor/Window Sensors when you are away from home andalerts you if anything happens.Door/Window Sensors (x3) inform your AlertMe system whether doorsor windows are open or closed. Each sensor has two parts, and you stickone on the door or window and one on the frame, sothat they are close together when the door or windowis shut. These are useful for checking that doors andwindows are closed when you leave home.Motion Sensors (x2) watch for people moving aroundin a room or area of your home. They arebest positioned towards the top of awall, pointing out into the room.They are the best way ofdetecting any intruder inyour home.The Intruder AlarmThe hub (x 1) is the heart of AlertMe inyour home. It connects to AlertMe 24/7 viayour broadband (with abackup GPRS link). If yourmains power goes out, itkeeps working on backupbatteries. It checks theAccessories in your homeare working at all timesand lets you know, via oursecure servers, if anythinghappens.The HubThe Emergency Alarm service uses AlarmDetectors (x2) to listen to your existing smoke alarms(or carbon monoxide alarms, or any other homealarms which make a loud siren or beeping). With anAlarm Detector installed next toeach alarm in your home,your alarms become partof the AlertMe system,and you will be alertedif any of them go off.TheEmergency AlarmThe KeyfobsEach Keyfob (x 3) has two buttons:Home(the big one) andAway(the little one), to blipyour home when you leave and returnhome, just like blipping a car. Thiscontrols the Intruder Alarm (letting itknow when to secure your home),and can also be used to cancel theEmergency Alarm if it goes offbecause you’ve burnt the toast.AlertMe also uses Keyfobs to keep track of who isat home, and who is out. You can alwayscheck who is at home using thesecure website.As well as the serious home safety and securityservice offered by AlertMe you also get a button and alamp in your kit. New features using these accessories will bereleased over time. Check the website to find out what is availableat the moment!The Lamp (x1) makes the AlertMe wirelessnetwork in your home even more reliable. Inaddition, it’s a funky, multi-coloured light whichcan be used for all kinds of things.The Button (x1) is an internet-connected button,which like the Lamp, can be used in allkinds of ways. You will also need accessto your broadband router and computerPlug in the lamp and insert batteries into theother accessoriesTest your AlertMe system Following the web instructions, placeaccessories around your home3Plug your hub into your broadband routerand follow the web instructions at alertme.com5Attach sticky pads to your accessories11/2Please leave at least 1 1/2hours for installationPress for 5secondsHold for 5secondsSome accessories may require 2 sticky pads!Squeeze the tabs on the side of the accessory to open!Once the battery is in place, carefully push together thetwo sides of the accessory!Insert the keyfob tool into the slot by the keyring and slidethe top of the accessory back.!Distance between alarm and sensor - max 5cm!Distance between sensors - max 5mm!Make sure the indentations on both sensors are facingeach other!To remove the sticky pads, pull the exposed tabs awaywhile holding the accessory firmly in place.!Point me so the only movement I seeis people, not pets!!Connect your hub to your broadband router with the ethernet cableprovided.
