The Door/Window Sensor detectswhether a door, window, or otherthing is Open or Closed. The sensorhas two parts - a larger part, intowhich the battery is placed, and asmaller part (which is actually amagnet). The Door/Window Sensor isdesigned for use indoors but it can beused on external windows or doors, providing that the larger part isnormally indoors. You can use theDoor/Window Sensor to check whetherground floor exterior doors and largewindows are open or closed (especiallyhelpful when combined with AlertMe'swarning if you leave your home set to"Away" without closing everything!).The larger part of the sensor isusually placed on the door orwindow frame, and the smallerm agnet placed on the door orwindow itself; the two parts m ust beparallel to each other, and as closeto touching as you can place them ,without stopping the m oving partfrom opening smoothly. Each part ofthe sensor has a pair of little lines onone side; you should install the sensorwith those sides with the little linesnext to each other .
