Labtec warrants that any hardware product accompanying this documentation shall be free from significant defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase. Labtecís limited warranty is nontransferable and is limited to the original purchaser. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary under local laws.Remedies. Labtecís entire liability and your exclusive remedy for any breach of warranty shall be, at Labtecís option, to: (a) repair or replace the hardware, or (b) refund the price paid, provided that the hardware is returned to the point of purchase or such other place as Labtec may direct, with a copy of the sales receipt. If Labtec chooses to repair or replace the hardware, Labtec may use new or refurbished parts, or comparable products. Any replacement hardware will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer. These remedies are void if failure of the hardware has resulted from accident, abuse, misapplication, or any unauthorized repair, modification or disassembly.  Further, for cordless devices, these remedies are void if you use battery types other than those recommended by Labtec.  Upon request from Labtec, you must prove the date of the original purchase of the hardware by a dated bill of sale or dated itemized receipt.DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY. They work over an effective range of one meter (three feet). The receiver has an LED to indicate that the mouse and receiver are properly communicating with each other. 1Hardware Installation1. Remove the USB end cap on the receiver cable. 2. Plug the receiver cable into a USB port on the computer.3. Install the batteries in the mouse.4. Turn on your computer.2Connecting the Mouse with the Receiver1. Press the button on top of the receiver. The receiverís LED blinks to indicate that it is searching for the mouse.2. Press the connect button on the bottom of the mouse.3. When the mouse and receiver are connected, the LED on top of the receiver is illuminated. Your mouse should work. If not, refer to ì Troubleshooting.î  3Software InstallationTo enable the side-to-side scrolling feature of the mouse or to change button programming, install the mouse software. Insert the software CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive, and then follow the on-screen instructions.If the software auto-install feature does not work, do the following:1. Click Start to open the Start Menu.2. Click Run to open a comand dialog box. 3. Type D:\setup (where ìD î  designates your computerís CD-ROM drive). Click OK to start the Installation Program.4. Restart your computer after the software installation is finished.Software FeaturesAfter you have installed the software and your computer has restarted, a LabtecÆ icon appears on the WindowsÆ taskbar. Right-click this icon to use these options:  Active Mouse Properties ó opens the mouse control panel.  Settings ó opens a dialog box tha t allows you to change the behavior of the mouse wheel and wheel button. Bydefault the buttons on top of the mouse are programmed for side-to-side scrolling.Maintaining the Mouse    Y ou may clean the surface of the mouse with a damp cloth.    Do not use an y harsh or abrasive cleaners.TroubleshootingIf your Wireless Mouse does not function properly, try these troubleshooting tips:1. Check the receiverís USB cable connection to the computer. Try another USB port on the computer. 2. Place the receiver closer to the mouse. Keep the mouse within one meter (three feet) of the receiver. 3. Some objects may affect the operating distance or completely block the wireless signal.4. Metallic surfaces will shorten transmission distances.5. Check the power level of the mouse batteries.6. Try connecting the mouse with the receiver.
