4TARGUS WIRELESS REMOTE PRESENTERIntroductionCongratulations on your purchase of the Targus WirelessRemote Presenter. This presenter is a combinationremote control mouse and laser pointer. With thispresenter you can control cursor movement anywherewithin 50 feet (15 m) of its receiver and project a redlaser pointer beam.NOTE: The actual effective distance may increase ordecrease depending on the surrounding environment.The Targus Wireless Remote Presenter also features acursor control pad and four (4) control buttons that emulatemouse controls and command keys in PowerPoint®.Contents• Wireless presenter• USB receiver• USB extension cable• 1 x AAA alkaline battery•User guide• Carrying pouch
5Targus Wireless Remote PresenterConnecting the Receiver andInstalling the Default DriverTo connect the receiver to your computer, plug the standardUSB end of the receiver into an available USB port on yourcomputer. Alternatively, you can use the supplied USBextension cable to connect the receiver to your computerfor additional length.Your computer’s operating system identifies the receiver asa “USB Human Interface Device” and begins installing thedefault driver. Follow any on-screen procedures tocomplete the default driver installation.NOTE: If you are running the Windows® Me operatingsystem, you may be prompted to insert the installationCD-ROM that came with your computer.You are now ready to begin using the presenter.Using the Targus WirelessRemote PresenterChanging ModesTo maximize its features, the presenter has two modes ofoperation: Mouse mode and Presenter mode. Thepresenter’s default setting is Mouse mode. To change

Use the USB extension cable if necessary.› Make sure that the presenter is within 50 feet (15 m) of its receiver.› Increase the distance between the presenter’s receiver and the base units of other wireless devices.› Turn off any wireless devices and their base units that are near the presenter’s receiver.› Replace the battery.
