Usmg a screw driver. loosen the screw and remove the case cover. 7. Insert 4 x 1.5V MA alkaline batteries. folowing polarity markings. 3. Replace case cover and replace screw. Al Drone charging The Drone is charged using the USB charging cable provided. no not use any other means to charge the Drone. 1. Press the Drone ONIUFF Button (17) to OFF position. 2. Connect the charging cable into the Drone charging Port (15). and the other end to a USB power port. This can be plugged into a computer or via the adapter or a suitable USB plug. 3.While charging. the charging LED (16) will be OFF. 4. charging is complete (and Drone tully charged) when the charging LED (16) is ON. 5. charging takes around 30 minutes. for approximately 5 minutes at flying time. -- LIJI'IEI'E ID FILI the Hi DI'DI'IE The Ai Drone is best tlown indoors. though in calm weather conditions it can also be rlown outside. Note that the proximity sensor wil not perform outdoors in sunlight. See Flying the Ai Drone section. When ttying indoors choose a spacious. tlat. obstacle hee area. away from strong drafts, fans or air conditioners. as these can attest airflow and make controlling nights very ditticutt. Only attempt to tly outdoors on a very calm day (wind less than Emph) with no rain. snow or water on the ground. Never tly near cmwds of people. pets or other animak. near ponds. or any other water. and keep well away from any high voltage power lines. fienlacinq the PI'DDEEI' Protectors The Propeller Protectors (1 9). can be removed and replaced as required (it broken or damaged). There are two spare propeller protectors. 1.Tum over the Drone so underside is upwards 2. Gently remove each arm of the Removable Propeller Protectors (15) all the base at the Drone 3. Gently pull oft the Removable Propeller Protectors (19) trom the corner of the Drone 4. When learning to tly It is highly recommended you use the Juice Buthtn method to tly the Dmne, as the patented sensor technology will allow for much easier flights. Mung Md MIDI the Juice lullanl Note. tlte Juice Button llight uses patented proximity sensors that will not operate in sunlight. This tlight mode is theretore not recommended outdoors or in bright direct sunlight. Hovering heights will vary as wel on different surlaces. being especialy low on non-reflective surfaces (such as black carpet) and high on surfaces such as shiny white gloss paint. (in highly variable or changing surfaces it is recommended not to use the Juice Button start option. 1. Make sure that the Throttle Joystick (1) Is positloned downwards (no ductile Is glven). Switch the handset Power Switch (1) to ON. The Power Indicator LED (2) wil start to tlash. 2. Swimh the Drone's DN/DFF Butmn (17) to ON. the Drone LED (18) wil be illuminated. 3. Place the Drone on a flat surface. as detailed above and lacing away from you (red Drone LED (16) closest). 4. Move the Throttle Joystick (5) up and then back down again until the Power hdicator LED (2) stops flashing. The handset is now paired with the Drone. 5. Press the Juice Button (7). The Drone will Auto Take—0ft and Auto-Hover by itsell at a height of around 1m. It is now over to you to take control! You can press the Juice Bunon at any time tor the Drone to Auto-Land 6. it Is highly recommended that oh Inltial lllghts you do not use the Throttle Joystick (5). Simply move and control the Drone around using the Directional Joystick (6). Press the Directional Joystick (6) forward and backwards and the Drone wil move in that direction. Move to the left and right and the Drone will turn in that direction. The Drone will always stay at approximately the same distance from the ground (Auto-Hover). so the novice pllot does not need to worry about the height. This is the massive benefit the At Drone has over any other Drones on the market! 7. When you become a more experlenced pilot, then you can use the Throttle Joystick (5) to move to your preferred helght. The Throttle Joystick (5) can also be used to rotate the Drone around Its axls. it. There are two speed options on the Al Drone. Using the Speed Mode (20) button. the speed at the Al Drone can he switched between slow and last modes (slow/last). 5. The Ai Drone can perionn ilips using the Left Hip (3) and Backward Flip (4) buttons. Duly pertorm llips when the Drone is settled stationary In the air or ascending gently. otherwise the Drone wil be dllflcult to controL 1|]. Press the Juice Button (7) at any time and the Drone will Autirland. Emergency Stop press and hold down the Juice Button (7) it you loose control of the Drone at any time. To land the Al Drone press and release the Juice Button (7). Auto-stunt Operation The Auto-Stunt Operation can only be activated when tlight was started with the Juice Button. Press Auto-Stunt Button (8), while the Drone Is settled stationary in the air or gentle ascending, atter taking on with the Juice Button. It Is important that there are no objects within 2m of the Drone In any direction and It has at least 1m above Its hovering height. Press the Auto-Smut Button (B). the Drone turns around, moves slowly upwards. does a 360 degree tlip. betore moving back down to its resting height (appmximately 1m). Press Auto-Stunt Button only when Drone Is very sill. ll Drone Is moving. It wll become dllflcult to control after the tllp. Practice makes pertect! Advanced Flying The Drone can also be tlown without any proximity sensors. Follow steps 1-5 In section Getting Stoned with the Juice Btntou (1) then push the Throttle Joystick (5) lorward and the Drone will take to the skies! Not using the Juice Button (and hence deactived proxlm‘rty sensors durlng lllghts) does make tlylng more dllflcult. as you need to control helgirt (with Throttle Joystlck (5)). as well as Direction (with Directional Joystick (6)). However there are dso advantages to this mode: - The Drone can be used on un-even coloured or textured ground. - The Drone can be llown outside in tul sunlight. - You can move the Drone very close to the ground (below the 1m height determined by the sensors In Julce Button mode). - You can start tlights by throwing the Drone into the air betore immediately taking oontroL A spectacuhr trick. but only recommended by experienced and highly sklhrl plots! To do this you must use the Throttle Joystick (5) straight away once you have thrown the Drone into the air. Press and hold down for Emergency Stop. Trimming the prone To get best pertormance tor the Ai Drone, It Is important to trim It. To adjust trimming we recommend: - When the Drone is flying forward. push the Backward Trim (14) - When the Drone is lying backward, push the Forward Trim (13) - When the Drone is tlying to the left side, push the Right Trim (12) - When the Drone is lying to the right side. push the Lelt Trim (11) - When the Drone is mtating to the lelt. push the Right Turn Trim (to) - When the Drone is rotating to the right side. push the Lett Turn Trim (9) for Auto Take Auto-Hover! Never use chemicals to clean the product. ~ Long operation time may generate high heat levels causing wear and tear. To extend product life. operators are recommended to allow a 10-15 minute cool down period before recharging batteries. 0 Keep this Instmction manual for hrture use. Attention! Before operating: Switch the handset on first, then the Drone. When finished: First switch oil the DroneI then the handset. Emergency Stop press and hold down the Juice Button (7) If you loose control of the Drone at any time. To land tlleAi Drone press and release the Juice Button (7). Replacing the pI'DDEIEI'S It is recommended to use tweezers in order to replace the propelers. Use the tweezers to remove the propellers from the centre axle by pulling it upwards. Then use a new propeller and insert this by pushing onto the axis. Each propeler is engraved with a code to identity its location on the Drone. Using the engraved code on the propeller, the propellers should match the below format Front (blue LED) left Is 81/2, right is A1/2. Back (red LED) left is Al/Z, right Is 31/2.
