Skylight Quick Start Guide
Contents of Box
Your Skylight package contains the following:
Skylight Frame
Plastic support stand
Power adapter
Instructions for setting up your personal Skylight
email address (see Step 4)
1) Attach the support stand
Screw the plastic support stand into the hole on the
lower right on the back of Skylight.
If you prefer to mount Skylight on the wall, you can
use the hole on the upper back of Skylight.
2) Turn on the device
Connect the adapter to Skylight – it plugs into the
small hole on the back that says DC IN.
Connect the adapter to an outlet to turn it on.
In about 30 seconds, the home screen appears.
3) Connect to Wi-Fi
A list of available WiFi networks will appear on the
right side of the screen. Tap to choose your network
from the list. Swipe up and down if the list is long.
If the name of your network does not appear, wait
for 30 seconds and check again.
If your WiFi requires a password, a prompt will
appear. Type in your network’s password using the
on-screen keyboard. Don’t make any typos!
Skylight will let you know once it has successfully
connected.
4) Create your personal Skylight email address
Loved ones send photos to Skylight by emailing
them to your unique Skylight address. These have
the format
@ourskylight.com, e.g.
johnsmith@ourskylight.com.
Here’s how you get your Skylight address:
a. Visit www.ourskylight.com/finalstep and
follow the instructions there to pick your
unique Skylight email address.
b. Once you create your Skylight email, our
online system gives you a 6-digit code.
c. Just tap that code into your Skylight device
after turning it on the first time, using
Skylight’s onscreen keypad.
d. Skylight will automatically retrieve your
unique Skylight email address, and display it
on the screen.
5) Now, ask loved ones to send pictures!
Everyone in your family can email photos (as
attachments) to your Skylight email address.
The subject and contents of the email don’t matter –
Skylight just grabs photo attachments.
Loved ones can send photos from phone or
computer.
About 60 seconds after photos get sent, they
appear on your Skylight!
6) Tap the screen for lots more features
When photos arrive, they’ll play on a slideshow. You
can swipe to scroll through photos.
Tap the screen to see the Settings Bar. From here
you can:
o Delete photos
o Pause on a favorite photo
o View a Gallery of all your photos and
navigate to a specific photo quickly
o Tap “How It Works” to check your Skylight
email address if you forget it
o Reset your WiFi
If you love a photo, you can tap the Heart button in
the lower right of the screen, and we’ll email the
sender to tell them you loved it!
7) Put your Skylight to sleep at night
To turn off Skylight’s screen at night, press the
power button (the top round button on the back of
Skylight) one time. The screen takes 2 seconds to
power down.
To turn the screen back on, simply touch the power
button on the back again.
