With ve people sitting comfortably and all seats up, there’s
300 litres of boot space. To increase the volume, just pop
down the 1/3–2/3 split/folding rear seat for the ideal
conguration. With all seats folded at you’re looking at
a load length of 1.19 metres. The removable parcel shelf
can be neatly stowed at the bottom of the boot. It’s called
modularity and it’s made for living.

petrol engine offers more power with less weight, better fuel

Standard on VTR+ and Exclusive versions, the cruise control
with speed limiter ensures that you never exceed your chosen
preset speed, so you’re always inside the safe and legal limits.
Choose the Visibility Pack option on Exclusive versions and
you can also benet from automatic lights and windscreen
wipers that respond to changes in the weather and light levels
instantly and automatically.
SAFE SMOOTH PARKING
Optional rear parking sensors and eMyWay satellite
navigation system with colour reversing camera makes light
work of even the tightest city parking spaces.
ACTIVE ELECTRONICS
A whole range of active safety technology is ready for any
crisis. Powerful ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
(EBD), plus Emergency Braking Assistance are standard

If you do have to brake heavily or suddenly change

The Visibility Pack features automatic rain-sensitive windscreen
wipers, automatic illumination of headlights and an
electrochrome rear view mirror.
REAR PARKING SENSORS
With the rear parking sensors, the audible warning
increases in frequency the nearer you get to an obstacle,
making it a breeze to park in the tightest of spaces.
EMYWAY AND REVERSING CAMERA
The eMyWay colour satellite navigation system includes
live trafc information for maximum convenience. It
also features a 7” 16:9 ratio screen, and integrated
European mapping brings you voice guidance and
graphics in 2D or aerial perspective. The reversing
camera uses the system’s large screen to ensure
pinpoint manoeuvres every time. This option also
includes an MP3 compatible CD player with six speakers.
EPIC VIEWS
The panoramic Zenith windscreen transforms the interior of
the Citroën C3, bathing everything and everyone in light and
offering a peerless view. 1,350mm from top to bottom, it
gives the driver up to 108 degrees of vertical vision. To avoid
glare, the upper section is dark tinted and there’s also an
adjustable sliding blind with integral sun visors.

DIMENSIONSGLOSSARY
e-HDi DIESEL ENGINE
The e-HDi 70 ETG engine is capable of 83.1mpg
and CO2 emissions of just 87g/km combined
with the EGS gearbox. It has a reversible starter-
alternator that works in tandem with an e-booster
to provide a seamless Stop & Start function.
Going further than other similar systems, the
e-HDi’s Stop & Start puts the engine into idle
mode while decelerating before coming to a
complete standstill. This reduces consumption by
15% in urban driving.
HIGH-PRESSURE DIRECT INJECTION
DIESEL ENGINE
Citroën’s HDi diesel engines operate with the
fuel under extremely high pressure, enabling
microscopically precise injection control. With
this level of management it’s possible to inject
at different times during the same engine stroke
allowing total control over the combustion
process. This has allowed our engineers to
reduce carbon monoxide emissions by 40%,
unburned hydrocarbons by 50% and engine
particulates by 60%. Fuel consumption is 20%
lower than a prechamber diesel engine, resulting
in an equivalent reduction in CO2 emissions
and thanks to the torque available at low engine
speed it could be argued that driveability is now
better than in petrol engined cars.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS)
Computer-controlled braking assistance designed
to prevent the wheels from locking under extreme
braking. This enables the car to continue being
steered and therefore controlled during this
braking incident. The Citroën C3’s ABS system
is further enhanced with EBA and EBD.
ELECTRONIC BRAKEFORCE
DISTRIBUTION (EBD)
A conventional ABS system cannot account for
any of the four wheels wanting to lock more quickly
than the others (for example, two of the wheels
may be on snow and two on tarmac). EBD reads
the deceleration rate of each wheel individually
and applies the ABS principles accordingly.
EMERGENCY BRAKING ASSISTANCE (EBA)
As drivers we nd it difcult to instinctively brake
very hard, but this is often what is needed in
those rare emergency situations. The EBA
system recognises our ‘attempt’ to brake hard
and in combination with the ABS and EBD
systems instantly applies the maximum stopping
power possible.
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)
This is computer-controlled traction assistance and
is provided primarily through the braking systems.
The ESC’s control unit constantly compares where
the driver intends going (through the position of
the steering wheel) with where the vehicle is actually
going and, if necessary, makes speed corrections
to each wheel individually through braking or
engine torque to keep the vehicle ‘in line’.
ON-BOARD TRIP COMPUTER
The Citroën C3’s multi-function on-board trip
computer provides you with information at your
ngertips. At the touch of a button you can view a
range of data like fuel consumption, average speed
and mileage possible at your current fuel level.
RADIO DATA SYSTEM (RDS)
Trafc information on FM radio, allowing the
station name and other information to be
transmitted alongside audio information.
EMYWAY SATELLITE NAVIGATION SYSTEM
The eMyWay satellite navigation system
features a 7” screen and covers UK and Europe.
Its in-built memory provides information about
speed limits and lets you know which lane to use
when reaching complex intersections. The system
also lets you adapt your route based on trafc
conditions, with data provided by Trafcmaster
and ViaMichelin in the UK and France.
VARIABLE POWER ASSISTED STEERING
A system that provides extra power assistance
for a vehicle’s steering at low speeds (such as
turning a sharp corner) and less assistance
during high-speed situations.
FRONT SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONERS
In the event of a crash, a pre-tensioner will tighten
the seat belt almost instantaneously. This reduces
the load on the occupant in a violent crash. Like
airbags, pre-tensioners are triggered by sensors in
the car’s body, and use explosively expanding gas
to drive a piston that retracts the belt. Seat belt
pre-tensioners also lower the risk of “submarining”,
which is when a passenger slides forward under
a loosely worn seat belt.
ISOFIX
A standardised and more simple method for
installing child seats, each seat is ‘clicked’ into
place via a three point system. On the Citroën
C3, Isox is installed on the outer rear seats.
