installing batteries 12-468 AM/FM/TV/WX pocket radio Thank you for purchasing your AM/FM/TV/WX Pocket Radio from RadioShack. TUNING Rotate to select radio station. AM/FM/TV1/TV2/WX switch Your RadioShack AM/FM Pocket Radio requires three AA batteries (not supplied, available at RadioShack or online at www.radioshack.com) for power. 1. Remove the battery compartment cover. Replace when finished. 2. Place batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside. MONO/STEREO switch battery notes • Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury them. • Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type. • Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types, capacities, or chemistries. • If you do not plan to use your radio for a month or longer, remove the batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that may destroy electronic parts. • Keep batteries out of reach of children. After you begin listening, set the volume to a comfortable level. • Do not listen at extremely high volume levels. Extended high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss. • Once you set the volume do not increase it. Over time, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing. retractable antenna ON/OFF/VOL Rotate to turn the radio on or off and adjust volume.
