Starting Your VehicleThe remote control start function is activated by pressingthe START (key icon) button twice within 3 seconds onyour remote control transmitter.  The system will checkcertain pre-conditions before starting, and if all safetyparameters are correct, the engine will start within 5seconds.   If the vehicle’s starter cranks but does not startor starts and stalls, the remote engine start system willpower off then attempt to start the vehicle an additionalfour times.WARNING: TO AVOID DANGER OF CARBON MONOXIDE,NEVER REMOTE START A VEHICLE IN A CLOSED SPACESUCH AS A CLOSED GARAGE.Turning Your Vehicle OffPress and hold the START (key icon) button again to turnthe vehicle off.  If the vehicle is left running the remote startsystem will allow the vehicle to run for a total of 15 minutesand then automatically turn off.Entering the Vehicle While it is Running via Remote Start1. Unlock the vehicle doors using the factory keylessremote.  If the vehicle’s doors are unlocked manuallyusing the key, the vehicle’s security system will triggerand the remote start system will turn off.  Insertingthe ignition key into the ignition cylinder andturning it to the ON or RUN position will disarm thesecurity system.2. Enter the vehicle. Do not press the brake pedal.3. Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the ON positi-ion. If the ignition key is accidently turned to the startposition, the system’s “starter anti-grind” feature willprevent the starter from re-cranking.4. Press the brake pedal. The remote starter disenga-ges, the vehicle’s power window features are re-ena-bled and the vehicle will operate normally.Remote StartActivation2 TimesRemote StartShutdownFor 2 SecondsPress PressREMOTE START QUICK REFERENCE
To engage the service mode, turn the ignition key to the ON orRUN position, depress and hold the brake pedal then, press andrelease the START (key icon) button on the remote controltransmitter three (3) times. The system will pause for one secondand then flash the parking lights three (3) times indicating that thesystem is in service mode.  When attempting to activate the remotestart system while in service mode, the parking lights will flashthree (3) times and will not start.To disengage the service mode, turn the ignition key to the ONor RUN position, depress and hold the brake pedal, then press andrelease the START (key icon) button on the remote controltransmitter three (3) times. The system will pause for one secondand flash the parking lights one (1) time indicating that the systemhas exited service mode.Important Note: When taking your vehicle in for service, it isrecommended that you inform the service personnel that yourvehicle is equipped with a remote start system.Remote Transmitter Programming Mode1. Open the driver’s door (the driver’s door must remain openedthroughout the entire process).2. Insert the ignition key into the vehicle’s ignition cylinder and  turnto the ON or RUN position.3. Locate the small black programming button behind the fuseboxcover on the left side of the driver’s side lower dashboard.4. Press and hold the black programming button for 10-15 seconds.The horn will honk and the parking lights will flash three times toindicate that the system has entered transmitter programmingmode.5. Press and release the START (key icon) button on each trans-mitter.  The horn will honk and the parking lights will flash onetime to indicate a successful transmitter learn each time theSTART (key icon) button is pressed.6. To exit transmitter programming mode, turn the Ignition key tothe OFF position, remove the  ignition key from the ignition cyl-linder and test operation of the remote transmitter(s).Enabling / Disabling Confirmation Horn Honks1. Follow steps 1-4 in “Remote Transmitter Programming Mode”above.2. Pressing the vehicle’s brake pedal will enable the confirmationhorn honk feature.  The vehicle’s horn will honk 1 time to indicatethat confirmation horn honks have been disabled and honk 2times to indicate that confirmation horn honks have been enabled.3. To exit programming mode, turn the ignition key to the OFF pos-ition, remove the  ignition key from the ignition cylinder and testoperation of the remote transmitter(s).See your owner’s manual for additional information on the remoteengine start system.
