Introduction
This document IS related to a 14” CRT color monitor TM454 to be used with
various kind ofgraphic adapters, including [BMVGA‘ VESAVGA‘ERGOVGA
SVGA, UVGA, and XGA modes. it 15 intended as a mutisync monitor type
based on microprocessor unit. capable to support all the Video standards. Other
graphic standards can be supported by this monitor, simply adjusting image
size and centering by means ofthe user controls gathered on the from panel.
The monitor is used with SOKHZ to 54KHZ frequency in horizontal sweep
while vertical refresh rate is from SOHZ to lZOHZ.
Moreover it offers Power Management and DDCl and DDCZB features
according to VESA recommendations,

Getting Started The 14 ” Monitor
Connecting the Monitor and Stand
0 Align the stand’s four tabs with the slots on the bottom ofthe moni-
tor. '
0 Insert the tabs into the slots.
0 Slide the stand towards the front ofthe monitor,

Choosing A Workstation
When choosing an appropriate workspace. keep these few things in mind:
0 A sturdy, level surface.
0 An electrical wall outlet and a telephone Wall jack near the com—
puter.
0 At least 3—inch clearance at the back ofthe computer to allow for the
required airflow.
0 Do not place near a window. Exposing the Monitor to direct sunlight
for extended periods may damage the unit.
0 You may want to use a desk lamp to adjust the ambient lighting for
your viewing comfort.
A viewing filter is recommended to reduce eye stress and fatigue.

standard iS-pin mini D-sub (VGA) connectore if you are having
trouble locating the VGA port. please refer to the documentation
which came with your PC

2 Monitor Adjustments
The monitor is capable ofboth till and swivel adjustments. ,

The swivel feature allows for horizontal monitor adjustments of
+45° to 45°.

Brightness: This control allows you to fine tune the
display brightness level
H-Widlh: This control allows you to stretch or Squeeze
the display area horizontally
H-Phase: This control allows you to adjust the display to
the right or to the left
V—Height: This control allows you to stretch or squeeze
the display area vertically.
V-Center: This control allows you to adjust the display up
or down on the screen.
Pincushion: This control allows you to alter the image
geometry of the display area to prevent the image from
curving either inwardly or outwardly.
TRAPEZOID: This control allows you to adjust the
trapezoid ofthe display.

5 Trouble Shooting
This section will try to anticipate potential problems that you may encounter in . '
the day-to—day use of your monitor. lncluded in this section is information
which should help solve these problems for you. If afler trying the suggested
solutions, your monitor’s symptom remains the same, contact your authorized
service center.
Power
Symptom: The monitor is switched on but the power LED is
not in
Solution: Check to make sure that the power cord and Video
cable are properly connected. it the monitor is
plugged into a powered e‘flensmn cord or a Surge
protector, make sure that exiensmn cord or the
surge protector is turned on (Note When the
monitor is power saving on off mode , [hc power

LED
Symptom: The tea light is on but there is no display on the
monitor's screen.
Solution: Make sure {hill the computer's switch is in the
"On" pusttion. Make sure that the video cable's
D—shuped connectcir is properly connected to the
video adapter port on the back erthe PC
Display
Symptom: The display image is either not centered. too
small, or [on large.
Solution: Adjust the size and phase controls
Symptom: The display image is either dangling or unstable
Solution: Make sure that the video cable‘s D-shaped
connector is properly connected to the Video
adapter port on the back of the PC
Symptom: The picture is bounctng ur a wave pattern IS
present in the display.
Solution: Mme an) electrical devtces may fram the

6 Caring For Your Monitor '
Cleaning the screen
To clean your screen follow these stepS'
0 Never spray liquid cleaners on or around the Monitor.
- Spray the liquid cleaner on a rag While standing away from the
computer. Avoid excessive dampening.
- Clean the screen with slightly damp rag
Ventilation slots
The ventllation slots allow air to flow through the Monitor. They protect the
unit from overheating Therefore, do not cover or obstruct the ventilation slotsi
Likewise, do not place the Monitor on or near a heater.
Power Cord
It is best to place the power cord out ofthe way. If it must be exposed to traffic,
tape it to the floor or use a cord shield
Grounding
Grounding protects the Monitor from static discharge. Do not defeat the
purpose of the plug by cutting off the third prong and Jamming it into a two
prong outlet.
