FFIS PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Family Radio Service (FFIS) is the newest general m in
personal two-way communications. FRS radios operaln in a
licenseviree radio hand (no FCC license is needed for FFlS
operation), on any 01 the 14 license-tree channels.
The FRSZSOSLV is a lightweight. compact two~way radii) that
can be used up to about two miles wrth tamrly or lner ds at
parks, shopping malls. sporting events, concerts- any indoor or
outdoor activityl
The FR825OSLV is compatible with other two-way radios
using the FFlS trequency band (operating in the lrequency
range from 462.5625 MHz to 467.7125 MHz).
The FRSZSOSLV is a 14-channel 38 CTCSS/ SCAN/ UHF two-
way radio. featuring a multi-Iunctronal LCD panel (which
indicates the current channel and various radio status icons).
Other leatures also include electronic volume control and
battery save circuitry.
Please read this user's manual thoroughly to get the most out
of your FRSZSOSLV two-way radio.
Nola: The maximum transmission range will vary depending
on terrain and environment, Hart 9 will be greater in open
fields, while the range is shorter wit in and around buildings or
large structures.

THE BELT CLIP
To remove the belt clip, pull the tab and slide the belt clip down,
To reattach the belt clip, slide it up until it locks into place,
BATTERY INSTALLATION '

Function Mode
1. Lock lunction-to lock buttons to avoid accidental operation.
a. Press and Hold the Function button to engage the Lock lunction.
hr The UP/DOWN buttons will lock and do not operate under Lock
function.
c. To Unlock. press and hold the function button again untill Lock
indicator on LCD disapperarst
2 Select CTCSS Subchannel (0038)
a. Press and Release the Function button twice to select CTCSS
subchannel and then, press and release Up! Down button to
move your desired CTCSS subchannel.
b. When desired code is displayed. press and release PTI' button.
c, To return to operational mode and not save your 1m setting. just
press and release the CALL button,
Note: The CTCSS (Code Tone Controlled Squelch system)
Subchannel allows the user to utilize a less used channel range
(0038) within a main channel.
3. Talk confirmation tone (ON/ OFFl- You listener will hear an
audible tone you release the PTT button, This alerts the other

a. Press and Release the FUNCTtON_button until ROGER BEEP
TONE icon flashes.
1). Press and Release the Up/ Down button to turn Roger beep
tone ON/ OFF.

Changing Channels- The FRSZSOSLV has 14 available
channels. To change channels:
1. Press and the FUNCTION button shortlyt
2. While the channel number is flashing:
~ Press the UP(A) button lor higher channel, ‘
- Press the DOWN(V) button for lower channel.
- The channel changes lrorn 1 to 14. or Irom 14 to 1. repeatedly.
3. Press PTT button to select your desired channel and then,
the radio will return to normal mode.
Note: Reter to the “FRS Channel Table" section of this
manual tor detailed lrequency listings.
Monttor- You can use the MONITOR Ieature to listen in lor
weak srgnals in the current channel, ,
~ Press and Hold the MONITOR button for at least one second

OPERATION
Turning the Radio ON- Press and‘Hold the power button. The
radio wrtt beep and LCD panel will display.
Turning the Radio OFF- Press and Hold the power button.
Adjusting the Speaker Volume
. Press the UPtA) button to increase volume.
~ Press the DOWN(v) button to decrease volume.
- When adjusu'ng the speaker volume, the number of icon bars
Will be increased or decreased accordingly,
Receivlng a CALL(RX)- The radio is continuously in
RECEIVING mode when the radio ON, When you receive a
call on the current channel you are using, the LCD panel will
llash the Receive symbol (see “LCD PANEL DISPLAY" (or
details),
Transmitting a CALL (TX)
1. Push and Hold the PTT button to transmit. The TX LED will
light up in red and the LCD transmit symbol will flash (see
“LCD PANEL DISPLAY” for details).
2. While holding the PTT button. speak in a normal voice about
2 to 3 inches away Irom the mtcrophone.
3. Release the PIT button when you have Iinished transmitting.

Note: In order tor other people to receive your transmission,
they must also be on the same channel you are currently using.
