Service Information
The Rover Puck 4G device is designed to work exclusively with the Rover 4G Service. Rover wireless signal
speed derived from IEEE standard 802.16 specifications. Upload and download speeds are capped under
certain Rover service plans. Actual device performance on the Rover network may vary and is not guaranteed.
Coverage areas of Rover network are limited. Rover rate plans, coverage maps, and additional important
information are available at www.rover.com.
Important Regulatory Notice Regarding Radio Frequency Exposure (SAR Information)
The Rover Puck 4G device contains radio transmitter and receivers. The design of the Rover Puck 4G device
complies with U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) guidelines respecting safety levels of radio
frequency (RF) exposure for Portable devices, which in turn are consistent with the following safety standards
previously set by U.S. and international regulatory bodies:

ANSI / IEEE C95.1‐1999, IEEE Standard for Safety Levels with Respect to Human Exposure to Radio
Frequency Electromagnetic Fields, 3kHz to 300 GHz
•
National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) Report 86, 1986, Biological Effects and
Exposure Criteria for Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Fields
•
International Commission on Non‐Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) 1998, Guidelines for limiting
exposure to time‐varying electric, magnetic, and electromagnetic fields (up to 300 GHz)

This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. End
users must follow the specific operating instructions for satisfying RF exposure compliance. To maintain
compliance with FCC RF exposure compliance requirements, please follow operation instruction as
documented in this manual.
If you are still concerned about exposure to RF energy, you can further limit your exposure by limiting the
amount of time using the Rover Puck 4G, since time is a factor in how much exposure a person receives. You
can also place more distance between your body and the device as exposure level drops off with distance.
WARNING (EMI) ‐ United States FCC Information – The Rover Puck 4G device has been tested and found to
comply with the limits for a Class B computing device peripheral, pursuant to Parts 15 and 27 of the FCC rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection to the user against harmful interference in a
residential installation
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1)
This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received,
including interference that may cause undesired operation.
The Rover Puck 4G device generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and
used in accordance with the instructions for the Rover Puck 4G device, may cause harmful interference to
radio communications. However, Rover, Clearwire and its affiliates are unable to guarantee that such
interference will not occur in a particular installation.
If the Rover Puck 4G device does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be
determined by turning the Rover Puck 4G device off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the
interference by one or more of the following measures:
•
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
•
Increase the separation between the Rover Puck 4G device and the receiver.
•
Connect the Rover Puck 4G device and the receiver into separate outlets that are not part of the same
circuit.
•
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for professional assistance.
IEEE 802.11b, 802.11g operation of this product in the U.S.A. is firmware‐limited to channels 1 through 11.
This transmitter must not be co‐located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
Due to the essential high output power natural of WiMAX device, use of this device with other transmitter at
the same time may exceed the FCC RF exposure limit and such usage must be prohibited (except the built‐in
WiFi co‐transmitting)

Notwithstanding the foregoing, in no event shall the aggregate liability of ROVER, CLEARWIRE and/or its
affiliates arising under or in connection with the Rover Puck 4G device, regardless of the number of events,
occurrences, or claims giving rise to liability, exceed the price paid by the original purchaser of the Rover Puck
4G device.
Important Notice Regarding Data Transmission
Because the nature of wireless communications, transmission and reception of data can never be guaranteed,
and it is possible that data communicated or transmitted wirelessly may be delayed, corrupted (i.e., contain
errors), or totally lost. Although significant delays or losses of data are rare when wireless products such as
the Rover Puck 4G device are used in a normal manner with a well‐constructed network, the user is strongly
encouraged never to use the Rover Puck 4G device in any situation(s) where failure to transmit or receive data
could result in property damage or loss or personal injury of any kind (including death) to the user or to any
other party. ROVER, CLEARWIRE and its affiliates accept no responsibility whatsoever for damages of any kind
resulting from: (a) any delays or errors in, or any losses of, data transmitted or received using the Rover Puck
4G device; or (b) any failure of the Rover Puck 4G device to transmit or receive such data.
Important Notice Regarding Safety and Hazards
Under no circumstances should the Rover Puck 4G device be used in any areas (a) where blasting is in progress,
(b) where explosive atmospheres may be present, or (c) that are near (i) medical or life support equipment or
(ii) any equipment which may be susceptible to any form of radio interference. In such areas, the Rover Puck
4G device MUST BE POWERED OFF AT ALL TIMES (since the Rover Puck 4G device otherwise could transmit
signals that might interfere with such equipment).
In addition, under no circumstances should the Rover Puck 4G device be used in any aircraft, regardless of
whether the aircraft is on the ground or in flight. In any aircraft, the Rover Puck 4G device MUST BE POWERED
OFF AT ALL TIMES (since the Rover Puck 4G device otherwise could transmit signals that might interfere with
various onboard systems on such aircraft).
Furthermore, under no circumstances should the Rover Puck 4G device be used by the driver or operator of
any vehicle. Such use of the Rover Puck 4G device will detract from the driver’s or operator's control of that
vehicle. In some jurisdictions, use of the Rover Puck 4G device while driving or operating a vehicle constitutes
a civil and/or criminal offense.

By activating or using your Rover Puck 4G device, you agree to be bound by Rover’s Terms of Service,
Acceptable Use Policy, and other Legal Policies, all as posted at www.rover.com/legal. Please read these
documents carefully. In particular, Rover’s Terms of Service sets forth, among other things, Rover’s 14‐day
return policy, your liability for equipment that you purchase or lease from Rover, any minimum contractual
term for your Rover service (including any Early Termination Fee(s) or restocking fee(s) for which you may be
held responsible if you do not fulfill that full contractual term), and procedures for resolving any disputes
between you and Rover or Clearwire. Please also see the additional important information, including the
