Exercise caution at all times, when using equipment. 1. Read the towing vehicle owners manual, and safety rules before using the broadcast spreader attachment. 2. Never operate vehicle and broadcast spreader attachment without wearing substantial footwear. 3. Never allow children to ride or sit on broadcast spreader attachment, and do not allow adults to operate without proper instruction. 4. Always begin with transmission in low gear and gradually increase speed as conditions permit. (Recommended towing speed - 3 M.P.H.) 5. When towing broadcast spreader, do not d_ive too close to a creek or ditch which could cause you to lose control. 6. Before operating vehicle on any grade (hill) refer to the safety rules in the vehicle owners manual concerning safe operation on slopes. Stay off steep slopes. 7. Read instructions and caution notes for handlinglspreading of materials purchased for spreading. 8. (Figure ,_ Attach upper control arm using the 1/2" screw and Iocknut. Tighten the screw and Iocknut and then back off the Iocknut 1/4 turn. INSTALL AGITATOR WIRE Hex Screw • Loosenhex screwlocatedat end of the impeller shaft insidethe hopperand insertagitatorwire throughholein shaft. • Centerthe agitatorwire in the shaft and make sure that the ends of the wire are an equal distanceabovethe hopperbottom.Thentighten the screw, usingcareto avoiddisturbingthe agitatorwire position. NOTE:TIGHTENALLATTACHINGNUTS SECURELY, WITHOUT CAUSINGDISTORTIONOR BINDINGOF PARTS, Agitator Wire Impeller Shaft HOWTO USEYOURSPREADER APPLICATION TIPS 1. Set cam dial on #1 positionandpushcontrolarmto the "OFF" position.. Recommendedtowing speed: 3 MPH (Reduce flow settingfor slowerspeed,and increasetothigherspeed). 2. Move tractoronto flat surfaceand attach spreader. NOTE: Always move flow controlarm to the "OFF" position while filling spreaderand when STOPPINGor TURNING,to preventexcessfertilizerbeing released. 3. If this Craftsman Broadcast Spreader is used for commercial or rental purposes, this warranty applies for only 90 days from the date of purchase.
