WORK AREA
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered
benches and dark areas Invite accidents,

Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry
the charger. Keep cord away from heat, off, sharp
edges, or moving pads. Replace damaged cords
immediately. Damaged cords may create afire.
A battery operated tool with Integral batteries or a

the specified charger for the battery. A chargerthat

BATFERY PACK/CHARG ER
If notpurchased as a kit, the battery pack and chargerare
notincluded withyour light. They are both sold sepa-
rately, if you need to purchase the battery pack and
charger, use the following information:

BATTERY PACK
The battery pack for this tight has been shipped In alow
charge condition to prevent possJble problems. Therefore,
you should charge it until light on front of charger changes
from red to green.
Note: Batteries will not reach full charge the first time they
are charged. Allow severalcycles (operetlng light followed
by recharging) for batterles to become fully charged.
CHARGING BATTERY PACK
See Figure 1.
Use onlythe recommendedbatterypack and charger
withthe light.
Make sure power supply is normal household
voltage, 120 Volts, 60 Hz, AC only.
Connect chargerto power supply,
Place battery pack incharger aligning raised rib on
battery back with groovein charger. See F(gure 1.
Preessdo,vnon batterypackto be sumcontactsonbattery
packengageIzoparlywithcontactsIncharger.
Normally, the red LED on charger will come on.This
Indicates charger is in fast chargingmode.
Red LED shouldremain on for apprc0<imately1 hour
then the green LED will come on. Green LED on
indicatesbattery pack is fullychargedand charger is
intrickle charge mode. Note; Green LED will remain
on untilbatterypack is removed from chargeror
charger Is dlsconneeeedfrom power supply.
If b_h yellowand green LED come on, thisIndicatesa
deeply discharged ordefectivebatterypack.
Allow battery packto remain in chargerfor 15 to 30
minutes. When battery pack reaches normal voltage
range, red LED shouldcome on.
Ifred LED does not come on alter 30 minutes,this
indicatesa defective batterypack and shouldbe
replaced.
After normalusage, a minimumof 1 hour of charging
time is required to fully recharge battery pack,
The battery pack will become slightlywarm to the
touch while charging.This is normal and does nee
indicatea problem.
Do not piace charger and battery pack inan area of
extreme heat or cold, Itwill work best at normalroom
temperature.
Note: Charger and battery pack should be placed in a
Icoatlon where the temperature Is more than 50°F but
less than IO0°F.
When batteriesbecomefully charged, unplugcharger
from power supplyand remove the batterypack.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR RECHARGING
HOT BATTERY PACK
When usingthe light continuously, the batteries in the
battery pack will become hot. You should let a hot battery
pack cool down for approximately 30 minutes before
attemptingto recharge. When the battery pack becomes
discharged and Is hot, this will cause the green LED to
come on instead at the red LED, After 30 minutes, reinsert
battery pack In charger. If green LED continues to remain
on, return battery pack to your nearest Sears Repair
Center for checkingor replacing.
Note; This situationonly occurs when continuous use of
your light causes the batteries to become hot. It does not
occur under normal drcumstances. Refer to "CHARGING
BATTERY PACK" for normalrechargingof batteries. If
the charger does no_charge the battery pack under
normalcircumstances,returnboth the battery pack and
chargerto the nearestSears Repair Center for electrical
check.

alignswith groove Inside light. Batterypack is de-
signedto fit only one way Into lighthandle,
Insert batterypack, making sure latcheson each side
of battery pack snap Into place and battery pack is
secure In lightbefore use.
ACAUTION: When placingbattery pack In your light,
be sureraised ribon battery back aligns withgroove
Inside lighthandle and latchessnap Into place
properly.Improper assembly of battery pack can
cause damage to Internal components.
To remove battery pack, locate latches on end of
battery pack and depress to release battery packfrom
your light.

On top of the housingIs ahook Inwhich you can use to
hang the lightup. This Is agood feature for stodnglight

FLUORESCENT TUBE REPLACEMENT
See Figure 4.
When purchasingreplacementfluorescent tube, request
recommendedpart number7819602. See Figure5.
TO REPLACE FLUORESCENT TUBE;
Remove battery pack from workllght. See Page 8.
Remove screwto release lenscover. Remove lens
cover by pullingforwardand lifting from the housing.
To remove old fluorescent tube from spdng, gently
grasp the lower edge of the rubber cushionand sides
of bulb, Carefully worktube in aside-to-side motion
while easingtube forward and up untiltube Is free from
the spnng. Do not pullfluorescent tube straight out
from its center, as this Increases chance of breakage.
Remove rubbercushionfrom oldfluorescenttube and
place on top of new tube, rounded edge facing
outward,
Insert new fluorescenttube in spdng by aligning prongs
on tube withholes Intube socketarea, Gently push
down on base of new tuba untilfully engaged. Do not
forcetube into place.
Replace lenscover by slidinglower edge into housing.
Align screw holes at top, With ahand tool,tighten
screw.Do not use drtllincludedtn kitto tighten screw,
as drilltorque may damage lens cover.
Replace battery pack.

The batterypack for this light is equipped with nickel-
cadmium rechargeable batteries.Length of servicefrom
each chargingwill depend how much the lightIs used.
The batteries In the battery pack have been designed to
provide maximum trouble free life. However, like all
batteries, they will eventually wear out. Do not
disassemble battery pack and attempt to replace the
batteries. Handling of these batteries, especiallywhen
wearing rings and jewelry, could result in a serious bum.
To obtain the longest possible battery life, we suggestthe
following:
Store and charge the battery pack In a cool area.
Temperatures below 50°F or above 100° F will
shorten battery life.
Never store battery pack in a discharged condition.
Recharge battery immediately when it becomes
discharged.
All batteries gradually lose their charge. The higher
the temperature the quicker they losetheir charge. If
you store your lightfor long periodsof time without
usingit, recharge the batteries every monthor two.
This practicewill prolongbattery life.

This productcontainsnickel-cadmium
batteries, Local, state or federal laws

BATTERY PACK REMOVAL AND PREPARATION
FOR RECYCLING

terminals with heavy dutyadhesive tape. Do not
attempt to destroyor disassemble batterypack or
removeany of its components. Nickel-cadmium
batteriesmust be recycled or disposed of properly.
Also, never touch both terminalswith metal objects
and/or body pairs as short clrouitmay result.Keep
away fromchildren. Failure to comply with these
warnings can result infire and/or seriousinjury,
AWARNING: Do not attempt to disassemblethe
