• Beforeeachusecheckallnutsandboltsfortightness.
• Lubricatewheelsatleastonceayearorasneeded.
• Ifrustappearsontheshieldorspringtines,sand
lightly and coat with enamel paint.
• Alwaysstoreinadryarea,andcoatexposedmetal
with light oil when not in use.
Regular removal of thatch is critical to maintenance of a
healthylawn.Excessivethatchpreventsair,waterand
fertilizerfromreachingtheroots.Toeffectivelydislodge
excessivethatchfromyourlawn,readtheseinstructions
forproperadjustmentandoperationofthedethatcher.
ADJUSTMENT OF TINE SHIELD
• Movethetowingvehicleontoalevelsurface,such
asadrivewayorgarageoorandattachthetine
dethatchertothevehiclehitch.Seegure7.
• Lowerthedethatcherintooperatingpositionusingthe
lifthandle.Loosenthetwonylocknutsandcarriage
boltswhichfastenthehitchmountarmstothehitch
armmountbracketsattherearofthetineshield.
Adjustthetineshielduntilitislevelandboththefront
and rear spring tines are in contact with the ground.

• Varythevehicle'sforwardspeeduntilthebest
dethatching action is achieved.
• Forbestresults,useacrisscrosspatternonyour
lawn.
• Ifthedethatcherappearstobe"jumping"during
use,thenextraweightshouldbeaddedtothetine
shield.Inmostconditionsextraweightwillbeneeded.
Concretepatioblocksarerecommendedforweight
becauseoftheirlowprole;howeveranytypeof
weightissuitableifitcanbetieddowntotheshield.
Secureweightbyusingsuitablebindingmaterialsuch
asrubbertiedownstrapsorwire,fasteningtothe
