TOOLS REQUIRED Allen wrench (included) Phillips head screwdriver COMPONENTS 1 - back panel 1 - side panel 2 - shelf end panels 1 - base end panel 1 - kick plate 6 - shelves Bottom 1 Place side panel on the floor with the holes facing up, oriented as shown. The bottom of the panel has 2 metal inserts on the edge. Insert 12 cam screws into the inner holes and secure with a phillips head screwdriver. Insert 6 wood dowels into each of the 6 shelves. B. Insert 4 cams per shelf, making sure the arrow on each cam points towards the shelf edge. 3 Align dowels with holes in side panel and fit shelves into position. Note: All shelf holes should face down except for the top shelf. A x 12 Cam in unlocked position Cam in locked position B 4 Secure 6 shelves to the side panel by turning each cam 90 degrees clockwise with a screwdriver. Turn the cam until the arrow is in the position shown in the illustration. 5 A. Insert 4 wood dowels into the ends of the kick plate. B. Place kick plate into position and fit dowels into corresponding holes in the side panel. Fasten 4 cam screws to the inner holes of the 2 shelf end panels. B. Fasten 4 cam screws to the inner holes of the base end panel. 7 Fit shelf and base end panels into positon, aligning corresponding holes of cam screws and dowels. Secure all 12 cams by turning each clockwise 90 degrees. These holes will not be used 8 With the assistance of another adult, place the bookcase assembly face down. Using the included allen wrench, fasten 12 wood screws through the back panel into the corresponding holes on the back of the shelves as indicated. NOTE: There will be 1 unused hole on each shelf. 9 Insert 4 levellers into the threaded holes on the underside of the assembly. The included hardware is for mounting the unit to drywall. Use hardware appropriate to your wall type. With the assistance of another adult, lift the assembly into a standing position. Conceal all exposed cams with cam/screw covers. B. Conceal all exposed screw heads on back panel with cam/screw covers. C. Conceal all holes on shelf edges with hole covers. Assembly is now complete. CONFIGURATION SUGGESTIONS 11 A. Drill a hole in the wall slightly smaller than the diameter of the plastic wall anchor. Lightly tap with a hammer until the face is flush with the wall. B. Insert long wood screw through wall anchor strap and into the wall anchor. C. Insert short wood screw through wall anchor strap & into holes on top of unit. Shown using 1 right facing bookcase, 1 left facing bookcase and 1 set of 2 connector units (sold seperately). CLEANING AND CARE Clean surfaces with a dry or damp soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not use furniture wax or polish. The following instructions are for building a single unit, so these instructions will need to be repeated for assembly of the 2nd unit. 4 - short panels (2 left, 2 right) 4 - long panels (2 top, 2 bottom) 2 - back panels 1 Place 2 short panels on the floor with the holes facing up. Insert 4 cam screws per panel into the inner holes and secure with a phillips head screwdriver. Insert 4 cams into each long panel, making sure the arrow on the cam points out towards the edge with the holes. B. Insert 4 wood dowels into the outer holes of each long panel. A B 3 A. Align dowels of the 2 long panels with holes in 1 short panel and fit into position. Make sure the slot of each panel is at the rear of the assembly. B. Slide back panel into the slot at the rear of the assembly. x8 Cam in unlocked position 4 Place other short panel into postion, aligning dowels, cam screws and back panel with corresponding holes and slot. Cam in locked position 5 Secure the assembly by turning each cam 90 degrees clockwise with a screwdriver. Turn the cam until the arrow points away from the edge of the panel. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not use furniture wax or polish. 6 Remove adhesive backer from the 4 felt pads and attach to the long panels, covering the cam holes. Assembly is now complete.
