Retain instructions - The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference. Heed Warnings - All warnings on the product and in the operating Instructions shouldbe adhered to. Follow Instructions - All operating and use instructions should be followed. Cleaning - Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. 6. Attachments - Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer as they may cause hazards. 7. Water and Moisture - Do not use this product near water - for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub; in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool; and the like. 8. A product and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn. 9. Ventilation - Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure reliable operationof the product and to protect it from overheating, and these openings must not be blocked or covered, The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface.This product should not be placed in a built - in installation such as a bookcase orrack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions have been adhered to. 10. Power Sources - This product should be operated only from the type of power sourceindicated on the marking label, if you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home. Consult your product dealer or local power company. For products intended tooperate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions. 11. Grounding or Polarization - This product may be equipped with a polarized alternating-current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet try reversing the plug, If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug. 12. Power - Cord Protection - Power - supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the product. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. 16. Object and Liquid Entry - Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short - out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product. 17. Servicing - Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. 18. Damage Requiring Service - Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions; a. When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged. b. If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product. c. If the product has been exposed to rain or water. d. If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal operation. e. If the product has been dropped or damaged in any way. f. When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance - this indicates a need for service. 19. Replacement Parts - When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. POWER SOURCE Connect the AC adaptor between the unit and the power outlet UNPACKING THE TURNTABLE 1. 2. 3. 4. Carefully remove unit from it's package and take it out of the plastic bag. Open lid and remove black tie-wrap by untwisting and gently sliding out from under tone arm. Remove cardboard shipper. Remove white protective needle cover by gently pulling towards front of unit. TURNTABLE OPERATION Press the unit on by switching the POWER (13) located on the front panel to the ON position. 1. Press the PHONO (2) to set the PHONO mode. 2. Set the SPEED CONTROL SWITCH(29) to desire speed (331/3 ,45 or 78 rpm). Place the record on the turntable. 3. Adjust the Volume switch (21/22) set at the mid range. 4. Pull the TONE ARM (28) slightly to the right side until hear the click sound to activate the turntable. 5. Move the tone arm by hand out over the record and slowly lower it. Re adjust the VOLUME control (21/22) to the desire level. 6. At the end of the record, the tone arm will stop automatically by the center and return to the armrest manually. Accessory: ADAPTER FOR 45RPM TO PLAY THE 45RPM RECORD, PLACE THE ADAPTER (27) ON THE SPINDLE(26). BASIC OPERATION ELectronic volume control display ELECTRONIC VOLUME CONTROL a) Press VOL-DOWN(21) to reduce the volume, the volume level will be shown in the LCD panel. b) Holding down the button will result in continuous decrease of the volume. c) Press VOL-UP(22) will have an opposite result, it is similar to the case of pressing VOL-DOWN(21). USE THE FUNCTION BUTTON TO SELECT THE DESIRED MODE. CD TOC reading display a) Pressing CD (1) key to set the CD mode, the TOC reading starts and will be displayed after finish. TRACK Receiving tuning frequency display b) Pressing TUNER(3) key to set the tuner mode, and the receiving tuning frequency will be shown. FM MHz Phono display c) Pressing PHONO key to set the PHONO mode. The LINE will be displayed. PHONO EQUALIZER FUNCTION Manual or Preset Equalizer can be selected by proper Jumper Setting mentioned on section 5. If Preset Equalizer is selected, press EQ (16) key results in the following changes. Equalizer ROCK FLAT ROCK CLASSIC POP CD FUNCTION POWER ON Switch on the power and press the CD (1) key to select the CD mode. When the lid or tray is closed, reading TOC will start. If there is no CD inside, a DISC display will appear. If this equipment does cause harmful intereference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on , the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: - Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. - Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. - Connect the equipment into an circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. - Consult the dealer or an experienced radio TV technician for help. After reading display B) DRAWER TYPE Press the OPEN/CLOSE (18) key one time to open the tray. Tray open Jazz ROCK TACK Put a disc inside and then press the OPEN/CLOSE (18) key one time to close the tray. After that, reading TOC will start. Reading TOC After reading TOC TRACK Program input complete c) Pressing MEMORY (10) one time, then track 4 is stored into the program 1 position. Step (a) to (C) can be used to store up to 16 tracks into the program or modified the existing program. TRACK MEMORY Play operation d) Pressing PLAY/PAUSE(19) key to play the program. TRACK TO PLAY THE DISC Press PLAY/PAUSE(19) to play the CD e) Press STOP (20) when you wish to stop the play. Searching track 1 Playing track 1 TRACK (After reading TOC, the disc can start to play anytime.) TO PAUSE THE PLAYING Press PLAY/PAUSE (19) during the disc is playing, the playing time will flash. One more press the PLAY/PAUSE (19) key will cancel the pause condition. TO STOP THE DISC CLEAR THE PROGRAM Pressing the MEMORY(10) key one time and then press the STOP (20) key, the preset programs will be cancelled. While paused a) Press UP/F-SKIP(7) or DOWN/B-SKIP(6) to choose a desired track.( Example: The 3rd track) Each press will change the track number by one. b) If the CD is stop and the PLAY/PAUSE(19) key is pressed, the CD will start to play from track 3. If the CD is playing, several seconds after UP/F-SKIP (7) or DOWN/B-SKIP (6) is released, the CD will start to play from track 3. INTRO PLAY FUNCTION TRACK a) During the stop condition, pressing the INTRO(8) key to start the into playing. After that the first 10 seconds of each song will be played. Intro setting (Stop condition) INTRO b) If the INTRO (8) key is pressed again, the CD will change to the normal playing mode. Stop condition (TOC display) Press STOP(20) key TO SPECIFY A TRACK TO PLAY TRACK NOTE: If the program is already exist, press the MEMORY and then press the PLAY/PAUSE(19) key, the program play will start. The program will be cleared when the tray is opened or when the lid is opened. TRACK TRACK Intro playing TRACK INTRO RANDOM PLAY FUNCTION Searching track 3 A) Press RANDOM (17) key during CD playing or stop condition. (Press once again will cancel the function) Random setting (stop condition) B) If the CD is under stop condition, press the PLAY/PAUSE (19) key to start the random playing. During random search C) If the CD is playing, the random playing will start in next song. Random playing start RANDOM TRACK TRACK Play track 3 TRACK RANDOM TRACK (During the CD playing condition, holding down the button will result in fast forward search or fast backward search.) FAST FORWARD AND FAST BACKWARD RANDOM TRACK Hold down the UP/F-SKIP (7) or DOWN/B-SKIP (6) button during play. When the button is held down, there will be a continuous change of CD tracks position. This change of position can be performed even during pause. TO CHECK THE REMAINING TIME OF THE DISC Press REMAIN (12) one time during the disc is playing, then the display will show the remaining time of the entire disc. Note: Once the CD program is set, the random function can not be activated before the program is cleared. Display of the remaining time REMAIN TRACK If press two more times of the keys, the display will return to the original condition. TUNER FUNCTION REPEAT PLAYING AUTO SEARCHING A STATION Note: The type of reception bands, the frequency step, and the upper and lower limits of the receiving frequency are depended on the specifications of different area. Press REPEAT(9) key one time,ONE-TRACK REPEAT will be active. With one more, ALL-TRACK REPEAT will be active. All track repeat One track repeat (flashing) REPEAT TRACK REPEAT AM KHz TRACK With one further press, the repeat mode is cancelled. PROGRAM PLAYING AM band selection During the tuner mode, press TUNER(3) to select the desired reception band. Broadcasting station in AM Press UP/F-SKIP(7) or DOWN/B-SKIP(6) key, and then release the button when the fast scanning start.The frequency will continue to change and will automatically stop when a broadcast station is received. Program input mode a) In CD mode, Press MEMORY(10) key one time. AM KHz TRACK MEMORY b) Specify a track to play with UP/F-SKIP(7) or DOWN/B-SKIP(6) . (This can also be done with the numerical keypad in the remote control.) NOTE: If the UP/F-SKIP(7)or DOWN/B-SKIP(6) key is pressed during auto searching, the searching will stop at that point. When the frequency display pass through the upper limit or the lower limit, it will automatically changes to the lower or the upper limit, respectively. Choose track 4 TRACK MEMORY MANUAL SEARCH A STATION TO RECEIVE A WEAK BROADCAST SIGNAL Press the UP/F-SKIP(7)or DOWN/B-SKIP(6) button by one press at a time to adjust the frequency that you wish to receive. FM STEREO BROADCAST RECEPTION STEREO display will light when a stereo broadcasting station is receiver. Stereo reception STEREO FM MHz PRESETTING METHOD 20 broadcast stations of FM band and 12 stations of AM band can be stored to the preset memory. a) During tuner mode, by using the auto search or manual search methods to find a desired broadcasting station or any desired frequency. b) Press MEMORY(10) key to make the channel display _ appear. Search a desired station AM KHz Memory display CH AM KHz Choose Channel 1 c) Press REPEAT=(PRESET) key to choose the desired channel CH AM KHz d) press MEMORY(10) again, then the desired station is stored in channel 1. Channel 1 presetting finish CH AM KHz e) Repeat steps (a) to (d) for storing the various broadcast station to other channels or modifying the present channel. f) To change the broadcast station of a certain channel to a different channel (Example; Change the 1422 kHZ broadcast station from channel 6 to channel 8) Press the REPEAT=(PRESET) key or the numerical key to call the broadcast station of the channel that you wish to change. (EXAMPLE: Channel 6) Press MEMORY (10) key to the presetting mode and the channel display __ appear. Before change of channel CH AM KHz Presetting mode CH AM KHz Press REPEAT=(PRESET) to change the channel (EXAMPLE: Channel 6 to Channel 8) Press the MEMORY(10) once more, 1422kHZ is set to channel 8.
