TV.
Mounting the DTA to a TV with Optional Hook-and-Loop
Squares
1. Remove one of the two optional hook-and-loop mounting squares from the carton
in which your DTA unit was shipped.
Note: Mounting the DTA to your television may be easier if the loop tape remains
attached to the hook fastener.
Connecting an Optional IR Extender
The IR Extender, if packaged with your DTA, allows you to install your DTA in an
unobtrusive location, such as a cabinet, and control your DTA with a remote control.

POWER SUPPLY WARNING: Only the supply that came with
your system may be safely used to power the DTA.
Safety First
Before using this DTA, read the IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS section of
this guide.
Avoid Screen Burn-In
Images such as letterbox bars or side bars, bright closed-captioning backgrounds, station
logos, or any other stationary images may cause the TV screen to age unevenly and cause
damage to your TV. Refer to the user guide that came with your TV for more information
about screen burn-in.
Performance Tips
If the DTA does not perform as expected, the following tips may help.
No picture
Verify that the power to your TV is turned on.
If the DTA is plugged into a wall switch, verify the switch is in the ON position.
(Avoid plugging into an outlet that is controlled by a wall switch.)
Verify that all cables are properly connected.
The current channel may not be available in your service package. Try selecting
another channel to see if a picture appears.
No color
Verify the current TV program is broadcast in color.
Adjust the TV color controls.
No sound
Verify the volume is turned up.
Verify the mute function is not on.
2. Peel the paper backing from the loop tape on the mounting square you selected.
3. Press and hold the mounting square against the bottom of the DTA until the square
forms a secure bond.
4. Repeat steps 2 – 3 for the other mounting square.
5. Peel the paper backing from the hook fastener on each of the mounting squares.
6. Press and hold the mounting squares to the top or back of your television until the
squares form a secure bond.
1. Plug the connector into the IR port on the back of the DTA.
2. Peel the paper backing from the adhesive pad on the bottom of the receiver.
Then, mount the IR Extender receiver in an inconspicuous place, but make
certain that nothing blocks the sensor on the front of the receiver. You must
be able to point the remote control at this sensor.
To control the DTA, press the keys on the remote control while aiming the
remote control at the sensor on the receiver.
Note: If you encounter problems, make sure that all connections are secure and
that nothing blocks the path between the receiver and your remote control.
For further assistance, contact your service provider.
Important: Do not block
the sensor on the front
of the receiver, or you
cannot control the DTA
with your remote control.
Place the sensor away
from compact  uorescent
light, plasma TV displays,
or LCD HDTVs. The
sensor signal may be
blocked when placed too
close to these types
of devices, and the
remote control will no
longer function properly.
Installing the DTA
WARNING: Electric shock hazard! Unplug all electronic devices
before connecting or disconnecting any device cables to the DTA.
TVs with an HDMI Connector
1. Connect the DTA to the coaxial cable coming from the wall.
2. Connect an HDMI cable from the DTA to your TV.
Note: This illustration may vary from the actual product.
Other TVs
1. Connect the DTA to the coaxial cable coming from the wall.
2. Connect a coaxial cable from the DTA to your TV.
3. Slide the switch to channel 3 or channel 4 based on the channel your service
provider uses.
All TVs
After connecting your TV to the DTA:
1. Plug the power cord from the external power supply into the DTA.
2. If you received an IR Extender from your service provider, read and follow the
installation instructions in Connecting an Optional IR Extender.
3. Plug the DTA’s external power supply and the TV into an AC power source.
4. The DTA will power on once plugged in (indicated by a green light on its front panel).
Follow the on-screen steps or instructions provided by your Service Provider for
