Connecting and Charging the Battery Pack 1
This telephone comes with a rechargeable Nickel-Cadmium battery pack in the
handset but not connected, Before using your phone, you must connect the battery
pack and then charge it for about 24 hours
> Press down and slide ol't'the compartment cover as shown,
> Plug the battery pack‘s plastic connector into its socket. The connector tits only
! one way.
> Replace the cover.
To charge the battery pack, simply place the handset on the base. TheCHARGE
indicator on tlte base lights.

> lfthe CHARGEIIMSE indicator doesn’t light when you place the handset on
the base, he sure the battery pack and AC adapter are correctly and securely
connected.
> Also, check the charging contacts on the handset and the ase. lt'tlie contacts
are dirty or tarnished, clean them with a pencil eraser.
> When you first use the phone after charging or recharging the battery pack, the
phone might not work and you might hear an errortone. lfthis happens, return
the handset to the base for a few seconds. v
> About once a month, fully discharge the battery pack by keeping the handset
off the base until the KAI'LLQW indicator flashes. Otherwise, the battery pack
loses its ability to hilly recharge,

To reset the security code, place the handset on the base. If it was the handset
that lost power, leave the handset on the base to charge the battery pack.
> The supplied battery pack should last for about a year. When the battery pack
loses its ability to fully recharge, order a replacement battery pack from the store
which you bought the phone.
0 Setting the Dialing Mode :
Set T/l’ on the back olthe base for the type olservice you have. Ifyou aren’t sure
which type you have, once the battery is charged, do this test, I

You can turn your telephone’s ringer on and off. Sct RlNGER on the side of the
handset to ON to hear an incoming call or a page from the base. Set RINGER to
OFF to silence the ringer.

display messages in French or Spanish, Follow below steps.

3.Setting the Area Code 1
When you return a call from a Caller ID record, your phone automatically dials l,
the area code, and the number. However, ifyou store your area code into memory and
the number you call has the same area code, the telephone only dials the 7-digit local
number.
