ATTENTION
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. In
the event of an electrical short circuit,
grounding reduces the risk of eleclrtcal
shock by providing an escape wire for the
electrical current. This appliance is
equipped with a cord having a grounding
wire with a grounding plug,, The plug must
be plugged Into an outlet that is properly
lnstafled and grounded.
WARNING -improper use of the
grounding plug can resultin arisk of electric
shock. Consult a qualified electrician or
serviceman if the grounding instructions are
not completely understood, or II the doubt
exists as to whether the appliance is
properly grounded,
DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD
Use an exclusive wall outlet. Do not connect
your refrlgeralor to extension cords or
together wllh any other appliance In the
same wall outlet. Do not splice Ihe cord.
IMPORTANT WARNING
An empty refrigerator is a very dangerous
attraclion to children Remove either the
gasket, latches, lids or doors from unused
appliances, or take some other action thai
will guarantee it harmless.

Location
1. Select a place wIIh a strong, level floor,,
2, Aliow 5 inches of space between Ihe back of
the refrigerator and any adjacent wall..
3, Avoid direct sunlight and heat. Direct
sunlight may affect the acrylic coating°
Heat sources nearby will cause higher
electricily consumption
4. Avoid very moist places. Too much moislure
inthe air will cause frost to form very quickly
on the evaporator, and your refrigerator will
have to be defrosted very frequently,
To avoid vibration, the cabinet must be set level.
To start the refrigerator, turn the temperature
control to the position corresponding to the
desired cooling. The refrigerator temperature
will vary depending on the quantity of the food
stored and on the frequency with which the door
is opened.
Turn the controlto the "O" position to.
temporarily disconnect the cooling cycle_ After
defrosling and if the refrigerator has been left out
of use for some lime, set the control to maximum
lot 2 to 3 hours before turning to the desired
posilien. When the refrigerator is not to be used
for along period of time, disconnect Ihe plug and
leave the door padtal[y open,,
Note: Wait 3 to 5 minutes before reslarting if
operation has been Interrupted
Ice Cube Trey
Ice cube tray Is flexible. Twist tray to remove
ice cubes,, It the Ice cube tray is frozen hard to
the evaporator surface, run a little water over the
tray° Never use a knife or other metal instrument
to remove ice cube tray because this may
damage the evaporator (Fig. C)
Remove the exterior and interior packings, wipe
the oulstde thoroughlywith a soft dry clolh and
the Inside wilh awet, lukewarm cloth. Avoid
placing the cabinet in a narrow recess or near
any heat source, direct suniighi, or moisture,.
Let air circulate freely around the cabinet. Keep
the rear of the refrigerator 5 inches away from
lhe wall
Fig. C
Cleaning
To clean the inside, use a soft clothand a solution
01a tablespoon of bakfng soda to one quart of
water, ora mild soap suds so]uUon, or some mild
detergent. Wash ice cube tray, drip tray, and
glide out shelves in amlld detergent solution,
then dry and wipe wllh a soft cloth. Clean the
outside with a soft damp cloth and some mild
detergent or appliance cleaner
Defrosting
Fig.B
Thisrefrigeratoris equipped witha "Push Button"
(semi-automatic)defrost thermostatsystem. To
activatethe defrost cycle, simply push( in ) the
red defrost button located inthecenter of the
controlknob/diaL (do notlure the control
knob/dlal to zero=off ) The defrost cycle is
initiated rmmedlelely.Whendefrosting iscomplete,
the "PushButton"wilt release(pop.out)
automaticallyandresume normal operating
conditionsat the sametemperaturesetting.
NOTE:If the "push Button" is activated (pushed-in)
acctdenlally, it will not be possible to "manually"
pult-out the push button. (deactivate the defrost
cycle) You must either let the defrost cycle run it's
course or,
* Apply (hold) a dishcloth soaked In hot water
against the thermoslat capillary line and bracket,
located on the underside of the freezer
compadment. The heat transfer from the dish cloth
wilt cause a temperafure rise on the thermostat
capillary, (sensing tlne) causing the internal
contacts to close This wi}l resume normal
operating conditions, II may take several minutes
and/or repeat applications before the push button
wtllrelease
Defrosting of your refrigerator should take place
whenever ice build-up inside the freezer
compartment reaches 1/4" (dmm) thick. Defrosting
may take a few hours, depending on the amount
of accumu]atedice and ambient indoor
temperature. To speed-up the defrosting process,
remove all frozen foods from the freezer section°
Leaving the door partlalty ajar for a "shod" period of
time will also speed-up the process.
IMPORTANT.' You must remember to close the
refrigerator door belore the defrost cycle
terminates and normal operating conditions
resume automatically. The drip tray should be in
position directly be_ow the freezer compartment to
catch evaporated water during defrosting.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Never use sharp or pointed
instruments to defrost/remove Ice from the
evaporator/freezer compartment The
evaporator/freezer compartment contains
refrigerated gas lines and ifaccidentlly
punchedtpterced,will render the refrigerator
inoperable and "void" the manufacturers warranty.
DO NO ALLOW THE REFRIGERATOR TO
CONTINUE OPERATION IF THE FREEZER
COMPARTMENT IS PIERCED.
After defrosting is complete, setthe control to
maximum for2to 3 hours beforeturning to the
desiredposition.Whenthe refrigeratorIs notto be
usedfora long period of time, disconnect the
applianceItem the electrical supplyand leave the
door partially open,This will help to reduce mold
and mildew build-up
NOTE: Wail 3 to 5minutes before attempting to
restart the r_dgerator if operation has been
interrupted
Vacation Time
For short vacation psr[Qds, leave the control
knobs at their usual settings. During longer
absences, (a) remove eli foods, (b) disconnect
from electdcal curie!, (c) clean the refrigeralor
thoroughly, including defrost pan, (d) leave door
open to avoid possible formations of condensate,
mold or odors,
Power Failure
Most power failures are corrected within an hour
or two and wilt not affect your refrigerator
temperatures However, you should minimize the
number of door openings while the power is off.
During power failures of longer duration, take
steps to protect your food by placing dry ice on
lop'of packages.
tfYou Move
Remove or securely fasten down all loose items
inside the refrigerator. To avoid damaging the
leveling screws, turn them sit the way into the
base,,
Some Important Rules for the Correct
Use of the Refrigerator
Never place hot leeds in the refrigerator.
• Beverages should be stored in
sealed containers.
,Foods to be stored for along lime should be
wrapped in cellophane or potyelhylene, or kept
in glass containers. Never place spoiled foods
in the cabinet°
Don't overload the cabinet.
- Don't open the doer unless necessary.
Should the refrigerator be stored without use
for' long periods it ts suggested, after a careful
cleaning, to leave the door ajar to allow the air
to circulate insidethe cabinet In order to avoid
possible formations of condensale, mold
or odors.
Food Storage Suggestions
Fresh Food Compartment
,, Never cover food compartment shelves with
aluminum foilor any ether shelf covedng
material which may prevent air circulation.

Item meats, poultryand fish. Meats should be
wrapped Individually and placed in adish for
storage, Wrap fish and poultry in foilor heavy
