TheXbox360consoleonlyallowsmemoryunitsupto512MBtobeused.SinceyournewMAX

MemorycardallowsanysizeofSDcard,including2,4,8&16GigabyteMicroSDcards,these

cardswillbeusedasmultiple512MBcardsonyourXbox360.Forexamplea2GBSDcardwill

becomeupto4x512MBcards,an8GBSDcardwillbecomeupto16cards.That’slikeaseparate

BecauseeachSDcardmanufacturermaycalculateaGigabyteinaslightlydifferentwayitmaybe

WhenyoufirstuseyourMAXMemorycardinyourXbox360itwillbeoncard1.Ifyouareusinga

microSDwhichis1GBormorethenyouwillhavemorethanone512MBcardavailable.Tochange

toadifferentcardsimplypressthepagebuttononthefrontoftheMAXMemorycard.Whenusing

the360Dashboard‘Memory’screens,thememorycardwilldisappearforamomentandwillre‐

appearasMemoryCard2.

Repeatthisprocessto‘Page’throughthemultiplememorycards.

Followthesestepstoaccessthe360Dashboard‘Memory’screens:

1.TurnontheXbox360andgotothe360

dashboard/Nextinterface

2.Select‘MyXbox’

3.Select‘SystemSettings’

4.Select‘Memory’

Usingthe360Dashboard‘Memory’screensyouareabletoconfirmthememorycardwhichyou

havechosenbyeitherconfirmingthememorycardnameorcontents.

WhenyouswitchoffyourconsoleorremoveyourMAXMemorycarditwillrememberwhichpage

youwereonandstartonthatcard.

WARNING:

Donotattempttopagethoughthemultiplememorycardswhennotsettothe360Dashboard.



ThefollowingsituationonlyappliestouserswhodoNOTgoonlineorconnecttoLIVEwith

theirconsoleandareusingMAXMemorytoholdtheirprofile:

ThereisaminorbugintheXbox360dashboard(asofthecurrentversionNovember2009)where

ifyouareloggedintoaprofilefromthecard,ifyouremovethecardthenre‐insertit,eventhough

youareusingthesamecardyouwillneedtologoutandlogbackintogetfullaccesstoyour

profile.

ThiseffecthappensinexactlythesamewaywhenyouchangecardsontheMAXMemory.For

exampleifyoulogintoaprofilefromcard1,thenchangetocard2andthenbacktocard1–to

regainfullaccesstoyourprofileyouneedtologoutandbackin.

ThefollowingsituationonlyappliestopeoplewhoDOgoonlinewiththeirXbox360(those

whoconnecttoLIVE)andareusingMAXMemorytoholdtheirprofile:

Asyouwillbeaware,ifyougoonlinewithyourXbox360consoleyouwillberequiredtodownload

anXbox360LIVEupdate.IfyoukeeptheupdateonyourMAXmemorycardandyouhave8cards

ona4GBmicroSD,ifyouwanttousetheupdatewitheachcardthenyouwillneedtochange

cardsanddownloadtoeachcardinturn.

Ifyouareusingtheupdateandyouchangecards,theXbox360willtellyouthatitisgoingtoreset

–whichisnormal.

Ifyouintendtouseoneormoreofyour512MBcardsoftheMAXMemorywithouttheupdate(for

example–touseaprofilethatyounevergoonlinewith);rememberthatifyouchangefromacard

whichdoesNOThavetheupdatetoonewhichDOES–youwillneedtorestartyourconsolein

ordertoloadtheupdate.



MAXMemoryCardManagerisaPCsoftwareapplicationdesignedtomakebackingupand

restoringyourMAXMemorycardaseasyaspossible.



InserttheMAXMemoryCardManagersoftwareCDROMintoyourPC.Ifsetupdoesnotrun

automatically,browsetoyourCDdriveanddoubleclicktheSETUPprogram.Followtheon‐screen

promptsuntilthesoftwarehassuccessfullyinstalledonyourcomputer.



1.InsertyourMAXMemoryCardintotheUSBadaptorsuppliedensuringthatthecontacts

arecorrectlyaligned.

2.PlugtheadaptorintoanavailableUSBportonyourPC.

WhenyouconnectMAXMemorytoyourPCsome

versionsofWindowswillreportthatthecardneeds

formatting.ThisisbecausetheXbox360usesaspecial

filesystemthatWindowsdoesnotrecognize.

YoumustNEVERallowWindowstoformatthe

memorycardotherwiseyouwillloseyourdata.Ifyou

seethismessage,justclickCANCEL.MAXMemory

CardManagerwillstillbeabletoworkwiththecard

perfectly.

IfyoudoaccidentallyallowWindowstoformatyour

MicroSDcard,followtheinstructionsinSection7to

reformatthecardforusewithyourXbox360.



UseMAXMemoryCardManagertocreateabackupofapageonyourmemorycardinonesimple

process.Shouldanythinghappentoyourmemorycard,orshouldyouwishtoroll‐backallofyour

filesforsomereasonthenyoucanrestorethebackupatanytime.



1.ConnecttheMemorycardtoyourcomputerasdescribedinSection4.

DONOTallowWindows®toformatthememorycard.

2.Clickonthe‘BACKUP/RESTORE’tabinthetopleftcorneroftheapplication.

3.Clickonthe‘BACKUP’buttonontherighthandsideofthescreen.

4.GivethebackupanameandclickOK.

5.WaitafewminuteswhilstthesetpageisbackedupontoyourPC.

6.Repeattheprocesstobackeachpage.

HINT:Ifyouwishtobackuptheentirememorycardatonce,useaMicroSDcardreaderinplace

oftheUSBadapter.DONOTallowWindows®toformatthememorycard.

Youcanchangethelocationwherethebackupsarestoredbyclickingon‘OPTIONS’inthetop

menubarandthenon‘FOLDERS’ontheoptionsdialogue.

Compressingyourbackups

Enablethe‘COMPRESSBACKUPS’optionbytickingtheappropriateboxonthebackupdialogue

boxtohaveyourbackupscompressed.Compressingyourbackupswilltypicallyreducetheirsize

byupto90%butwillincreasethetimetakentobackupamemorycard.



1.ConnecttheMemorycardtoyourcomputerasdescribedinSection4.DONOTallow

Windows®toformatthememorycard.

2.Clickonthe‘BACKUP/RESTORE’tabinthetopleftcorneroftheapplication.

3.Selectthebackupwhichyouwouldliketorestore.

4.Clickonthe‘Restore’buttonlocatedtowardsthebottomleftofthescreen.

5.Afterreadingtheshownwarningmessageclick‘OK’,ifyouwishtocancelatthispoint

click‘CANCEL’.

6.Waitafewminuteswhilstthepageisrestored

UseMAXMemoryCardManagertobackupandrestoreindividualfiles.

Foranyactionscopyingfilestoorfromyourmemorycard,ensureyouhavethememorycard

connectedtoyourPC(seeSection4)thenfollowthesesteps:



• Clickthe‘CONTENT–CARD’tabtoviewthefilesstoredonyourmemorycard.

• ClickonafilethatyouwouldliketocopytoyourPC.Youcanselectmultiplefilesby

holdingthe‘CTRL’keywhilstmakingyourselections.

• Clickthe‘TOPC’buttontocopytheselectedfilestoyourPC.

• OnceafilehasbeencopiedtoyourPC,youcanrestoreittoyourmemorycardatany

time(seenextsection).



AnyfilethathasbeencopiedtoyourPCcanberestoredtoyourmemorycard.Ifyouhaven’t

copiedanyfilestoyourPCfirstdosobyfollowingtheinstructionsintheprevioussection.

BecausetheXbox360requiresitsmemorycardstouseaspecialfilesystemyouneedtofollow

somesimplestepsthefirsttimeyouuseanewMicroSDcardwithMAXMemory:

1.SlotthenewMicroSDcardintotheMAXMemorycard

2.PlugtheMAXMemorycardintotheXbox360

3.TurnontheXbox360andgotothe360Dashboard/Nextinterface

4.Select‘MyXbox’

OncetheformatiscompleteyourMicroSDcardwillnowbecorrectlyformattedasasingle512MB

cardforusewithMAXMemoryandyourXbox360.NotethatifyouareusinganSDcardwhichis

largerthan512MByouwillneedtochangecards(seeSection2ofthismanual“ChangingCards”).

Whenyouchangetoadifferentcardyouwillinitiallyfindthatcardisalsounformattedandyouwill

needtoformateachcardinthesameway.


