TheXbox360consoleonlyallowsmemoryunitsupto512MBtobeused.SinceyournewMAX
MemorycardallowsanysizeofSDcard,including2,4,8&16GigabyteMicroSDcards,these
cardswillbeusedasmultiple512MBcardsonyourXbox360.Forexamplea2GBSDcardwill
becomeupto4x512MBcards,an8GBSDcardwillbecomeupto16cards.That’slikeaseparate
memorycardforeverymemberofthefamily!
BecauseeachSDcardmanufacturermaycalculateaGigabyteinaslightlydifferentwayitmaybe

WhenyoufirstuseyourMAXMemorycardinyourXbox360itwillbeoncard1.Ifyouareusinga
microSDwhichis1GBormorethenyouwillhavemorethanone512MBcardavailable.Tochange
toadifferentcardsimplypressthepagebuttononthefrontoftheMAXMemorycard.Whenusing
the360Dashboard‘Memory’screens,thememorycardwilldisappearforamomentandwillre‐
appearasMemoryCard2.
Repeatthisprocessto‘Page’throughthemultiplememorycards.
Followthesestepstoaccessthe360Dashboard‘Memory’screens:
1.TurnontheXbox360andgotothe360
dashboard/Nextinterface
2.Select‘MyXbox’
3.Select‘SystemSettings’
4.Select‘Memory’
Usingthe360Dashboard‘Memory’screensyouareabletoconfirmthememorycardwhichyou
havechosenbyeitherconfirmingthememorycardnameorcontents.
WhenyouswitchoffyourconsoleorremoveyourMAXMemorycarditwillrememberwhichpage
youwereonandstartonthatcard.
WARNING:
Donotattempttopagethoughthemultiplememorycardswhennotsettothe360Dashboard.
ThefollowingsituationonlyappliestouserswhodoNOTgoonlineorconnecttoLIVEwith
theirconsoleandareusingMAXMemorytoholdtheirprofile:
ThereisaminorbugintheXbox360dashboard(asofthecurrentversionNovember2009)where
ifyouareloggedintoaprofilefromthecard,ifyouremovethecardthenre‐insertit,eventhough
youareusingthesamecardyouwillneedtologoutandlogbackintogetfullaccesstoyour
profile.
ThiseffecthappensinexactlythesamewaywhenyouchangecardsontheMAXMemory.For
exampleifyoulogintoaprofilefromcard1,thenchangetocard2andthenbacktocard1–to
regainfullaccesstoyourprofileyouneedtologoutandbackin.
ThefollowingsituationonlyappliestopeoplewhoDOgoonlinewiththeirXbox360(those
whoconnecttoLIVE)andareusingMAXMemorytoholdtheirprofile:
Asyouwillbeaware,ifyougoonlinewithyourXbox360consoleyouwillberequiredtodownload
anXbox360LIVEupdate.IfyoukeeptheupdateonyourMAXmemorycardandyouhave8cards
ona4GBmicroSD,ifyouwanttousetheupdatewitheachcardthenyouwillneedtochange
cardsanddownloadtoeachcardinturn.
Ifyouareusingtheupdateandyouchangecards,theXbox360willtellyouthatitisgoingtoreset
–whichisnormal.
Ifyouintendtouseoneormoreofyour512MBcardsoftheMAXMemorywithouttheupdate(for
example–touseaprofilethatyounevergoonlinewith);rememberthatifyouchangefromacard
whichdoesNOThavetheupdatetoonewhichDOES–youwillneedtorestartyourconsolein
ordertoloadtheupdate.
MAXMemoryCardManagerisaPCsoftwareapplicationdesignedtomakebackingupand
restoringyourMAXMemorycardaseasyaspossible.

ConnectivityAvailableUSBport
InserttheMAXMemoryCardManagersoftwareCDROMintoyourPC.Ifsetupdoesnotrun
automatically,browsetoyourCDdriveanddoubleclicktheSETUPprogram.Followtheon‐screen
promptsuntilthesoftwarehassuccessfullyinstalledonyourcomputer.

follows:
1.InsertyourMAXMemoryCardintotheUSBadaptorsuppliedensuringthatthecontacts
arecorrectlyaligned.
2.PlugtheadaptorintoanavailableUSBportonyourPC.
WhenyouconnectMAXMemorytoyourPCsome
versionsofWindowswillreportthatthecardneeds
formatting.ThisisbecausetheXbox360usesaspecial
filesystemthatWindowsdoesnotrecognize.
YoumustNEVERallowWindowstoformatthe
memorycardotherwiseyouwillloseyourdata.Ifyou
seethismessage,justclickCANCEL.MAXMemory
CardManagerwillstillbeabletoworkwiththecard
perfectly.
IfyoudoaccidentallyallowWindowstoformatyour
MicroSDcard,followtheinstructionsinSection7to
reformatthecardforusewithyourXbox360.
UseMAXMemoryCardManagertocreateabackupofapageonyourmemorycardinonesimple
process.Shouldanythinghappentoyourmemorycard,orshouldyouwishtoroll‐backallofyour
filesforsomereasonthenyoucanrestorethebackupatanytime.
1.ConnecttheMemorycardtoyourcomputerasdescribedinSection4.
DONOTallowWindows®toformatthememorycard.
2.Clickonthe‘BACKUP/RESTORE’tabinthetopleftcorneroftheapplication.
3.Clickonthe‘BACKUP’buttonontherighthandsideofthescreen.
4.GivethebackupanameandclickOK.
5.WaitafewminuteswhilstthesetpageisbackedupontoyourPC.
6.Repeattheprocesstobackeachpage.
HINT:Ifyouwishtobackuptheentirememorycardatonce,useaMicroSDcardreaderinplace
oftheUSBadapter.DONOTallowWindows®toformatthememorycard.
Youcanchangethelocationwherethebackupsarestoredbyclickingon‘OPTIONS’inthetop
menubarandthenon‘FOLDERS’ontheoptionsdialogue.
Compressingyourbackups
Enablethe‘COMPRESSBACKUPS’optionbytickingtheappropriateboxonthebackupdialogue
boxtohaveyourbackupscompressed.Compressingyourbackupswilltypicallyreducetheirsize
byupto90%butwillincreasethetimetakentobackupamemorycard.
1.ConnecttheMemorycardtoyourcomputerasdescribedinSection4.DONOTallow
Windows®toformatthememorycard.
2.Clickonthe‘BACKUP/RESTORE’tabinthetopleftcorneroftheapplication.
3.Selectthebackupwhichyouwouldliketorestore.
4.Clickonthe‘Restore’buttonlocatedtowardsthebottomleftofthescreen.
5.Afterreadingtheshownwarningmessageclick‘OK’,ifyouwishtocancelatthispoint
click‘CANCEL’.
6.Waitafewminuteswhilstthepageisrestored

UseMAXMemoryCardManagertobackupandrestoreindividualfiles.
Foranyactionscopyingfilestoorfromyourmemorycard,ensureyouhavethememorycard
connectedtoyourPC(seeSection4)thenfollowthesesteps:
• Clickthe‘CONTENT–CARD’tabtoviewthefilesstoredonyourmemorycard.
• ClickonafilethatyouwouldliketocopytoyourPC.Youcanselectmultiplefilesby
holdingthe‘CTRL’keywhilstmakingyourselections.
• Clickthe‘TOPC’buttontocopytheselectedfilestoyourPC.
• OnceafilehasbeencopiedtoyourPC,youcanrestoreittoyourmemorycardatany
time(seenextsection).
AnyfilethathasbeencopiedtoyourPCcanberestoredtoyourmemorycard.Ifyouhaven’t
copiedanyfilestoyourPCfirstdosobyfollowingtheinstructionsintheprevioussection.

somesimplestepsthefirsttimeyouuseanewMicroSDcardwithMAXMemory:

OncetheformatiscompleteyourMicroSDcardwillnowbecorrectlyformattedasasingle512MB
cardforusewithMAXMemoryandyourXbox360.NotethatifyouareusinganSDcardwhichis
largerthan512MByouwillneedtochangecards(seeSection2ofthismanual“ChangingCards”).
Whenyouchangetoadifferentcardyouwillinitiallyfindthatcardisalsounformattedandyouwill
needtoformateachcardinthesameway.
