11) Power Sources - This product should be operated

operating instructions.

12) Grounding or Polarization - This product may be

equipped with a polarized alternating-current line plug

Discs that have not be finalized cannot be played.

not be accepted or may not be played normally (the

function you selected does not run as desired, refer to the

manual accompanying the disc.

What is Progressive Scanning?

HOWTO CONNECTTO ATV WITHOUT AUDIONIDEO INPUT JACKS

If your TV does not have RCA type audio and video input jacks it is still possible to connect this DVD

player to your TV's 75-ohm coaxial antenna terminal using an optional Stereo Audio/Video RF Modulator, not includ-

ed. Connect the audio and video outputs of the DVD player to the audio end video inputs on the RF Modulator, and

then connect the coaxial output of the RF Modulator (usually marked "TO TV") to the 75 ohm coaxial antenna termi-

nal on your TV. Follow the instruction supplied with the RF Modulator for more details.

If your TV's 75 ohm coaxial antenna terminal is already occupied by an antenna or cable box connection, remove that

cable from your TV's antenna terminal and reconnect it to the coaxial antenna input terminal of the RF Modulator

(usually marked _ANT IN_), then connect the RF modulator to your TV's antenna

terminal as described above

NOTE

• The picture quality from DVD discs will not be as good if the DVD player is connected to the TV's antenna terminal

through an RF Modulator.

This DVD player can reproduce images and sounds from

daa recorded in MP3, JPEG and WMA formats on CD-ROM,

CD-R and CD-RW discs.

The DVDp[ayer can also run JPEG files stored on Kodak

picture CD.

The user can enjoy picture images on the television set by

reproducing picture CDs.

*Picture CD is a service to convert a photograph taken by

conventional film camera into digital data and write the data

on a CD.

For details of Picura CD, contact a shop that deals with

developing service of Kodak Inc.

Information on MP3, JPEG and WMA discs

A Me with an exter_ion of *'.rap3 (MP3)" is celled an '_MP3file",

A file with an extension of _.]og (JPG)" or ".jpeg (JPEG)" is

called a "JPEG file".

The DVD player can run an image file conforming to the

Exif* specification.

This is a file format, Exchangeable Image File format

established by Japanese E[octronic Tndustry Development

Association (JEIDA}.

A file with an extension of _.wma (WMA)" is called a

"WMA file".

Files whose extension is other than ".rap3 (MP3)", ".iPg

(JPG)", ".jpeg (JPEG)" and 'Lwma (WMA)" will not be list-

ed in the MP3, JPEG, or WMA menu.

If the file is not recorded in MP3, JPEG or WMA format, noise

may be produced even if the 5[e extension is either of".mg3

(MP3y, "jpg (JPG)", "jpog (JPEG)" and ".wma (WMA)".

When a disc with MP3,JPEG or WMA files is inserted in the

DVD player, the track menu will appear on the TV screen,

and number of tracks is displayed on the front panel.

select a desired group, then press the 1_, PLAY or ENTER

button to select a track.

If you press the PLAY or ENTER button, reproduction of

Cleaning the Cabinet

• Use a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution, Do not use a solution containing alcohol, spirits,

ammonia or abrasives.

Cleaning Discs

• When a disc becomes dirty, clean it with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc from the center out. Do not wipe in a circular

motion.

• Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners, detergent, adraalve cleaning ogents or

antistatic spray intended for analogue records.

Cleaning the disc lens

• If the player still does not perform properly when it is operated while referring to the relevant sections and to "TROU-

BLESHOOTING GUIDE" in this Operating Instruction, the laser optical pickup unit may be dirb'. Consult your dealer or

an Authorized Service Center for inspection and cleaning of the laser opticat pickup unit.

Disc HandLing

• Use discs which have the following loges on them.

(Optical audio digital discs.)

• Handle the discs so that fingerprints and dust do not adhere to the surfaces of the discs.

• Always store the disc in its protective case when it is not used.

• Note that discs with special shapes (heart-shaped discs, hexagonal discs, etc.) cannot be _

played on the this product. Do not attempt to play such discs, as they may damage the

Manipulacibn de los discos

• Manipula los discos de manera tal que las huellas dactilares y el polvo no se adhieran a la suparficie de los mismos.

• Guarda siampre los discos en sus cajaa protectoras cuando no los est# utilizando.

• Tonga presente qua no as posible reproducir discos con formas espec[aiea (discos con

forma de corazdn, discos hexagona[es, arc.) an este equipo. No intente reprodueir este

tipo de discos, pues podria daffar el raproductor.

Solucibn

-Compruebe si el cable de alimentacidn de CA est_ conectado cor-

reetamente.

-Desconeete la clevija una vez, espere 5 a 10 segundos y vuelva a

conectada.

-Compruebe si el televisor est& encendido.

-Compruebe la cone×idn de vfdeo.

-Compruebe la cone×idn del cable de VIDEO/AUDIO al televisor TV

(consults la seccidn "Conexidn aun televise€').

-No es posible reproducir sonido DTS con una conexidn anai_gica.

-A veces puede producirse una ligera distorsidn de la imagen.

Esto no indica real funcionamiento.

-Conecte el reproductor directamente el televisor.

-Conecte el reproductor de DVD directemente el televisor.

-Aseg_rese de que el disco sea compatible con el reproductor de

DVD.

-Ajuste el volumen,

-Compruebe que los attavoces est_n conectados correctamente.

-Compruebe I_ conexiones digitales.

-Compruebe si el formate de audio del idioms de audio selecciona-

do es compatible con su receptor.

-Este reproduetor no es compatible con audio DTS. Esto no indica

mat funcionemiento.

-Compruebe si el disco tiene huellas dactilares o rayas y llmpielo

con un pa_o suave desde el centre hacia el borde.

-Limpie el disco.

-Limpie el disco.

-Aseg_rese de que el lade de la etiqueta este hacia arriba.

-Compruebe si el disco tiene elgin defecto; pare el!o, intente repro-

ducir otro disco.

-Desactive la funcidn de control paterno o cambie el nivel de ecceso.

-Cargue un disco que pueda reproducirse en este reproductor.

-Apague y vuelva a encender el reproductor pare reinicializado.

-Apunte el control remote directamente hacia el sensor del panel

delantero del reproductor.

-Disminuya la distancia al reproductor.

-Cambie las piles del control remote,

-Vuelva a instelar las piles observando la polafidad corrects (signos

+/-) de les mismas.

-Pare reinicializer completamente el reproductor, desconecte el

cable de CA de la tome de corriente de CA durante 5 a 10 sequndos.

-Puede ser que el disco reproducido no admire ciertas operaciones.

Consulte les instrucciones suministradas con el disco.

-Antes de enviar el reproductor de DVD el servicio t_cnico, use un

CD-DVD de limpieza (disponible en el comercio) pare limpiar la lente
