v9.A draft Garage Sentry“
Installation and Operation Manual
Congratulations on your purchase of DesignTech's Garage Sentry“.
This product communicates via radio signals to a receiver in your home
to give you the status of yourgarage door -- Open or Closed.
This product is quality designed, engineered and built in the USA to
provide years of sen/ice. ‘
Garage Door Sensor/Transmitter:
Batteg: The Garage Sentry‘m is powered by a long-life lithium battery
which should last about 1 year.
Replace the battery when the unit stops transmitting or it transmits -- at
which time you will notice the receiver led lights blink quickly once ev-
ery few seconds.
Batteg Installation:
1. Insert a small coin or screw driver blade
into the slot at the side of the case and
twist to open the case.
2. Slide the battery into the battery clip
with the "+" side face up.
3. Make sure the mercury switch is off the
board at an angle (40 degrees).
4, Close the case back together.
Indoor Receiver Unit:
Power: Plug the wall adaptor into a standard wall outlet. Plug the
other end into the jack on the receiver unit.
Antenna: Plug the 8-inch white antenna into the RCA jack at the back
of the receiver and turn to a vertical position.
Setting up the System
The sensor and receiver are factory set to a particular, unique code.
To test the unit move the sensor (or if attached to the garage door at
this time -- open the door). When the garage door changes orienta-
tion -- i.e. open to closed —- it sends a radio signal to the receiver
which will light up the corresponding red or green LED light to tell you
the status of the door.
if the receiver does not respond to the sensor, and is showing both led
lights blinking quickly everfew seconds, make sure to follow the steps
below:
Transmitter Code Leaming (perform only if unit does not respond):
1. Plug in the receiver power jack - and
within a few seconds push the little red
push button with a pen at the back of the
case for a second. You are now in code
learning mode forthe next 60 seconds.
2. Move the sensor around. The re-
ceiver green led light will come on solid
when it learns the sensor / transmitter
code. The green light will go off.
3. Wait 60 seconds for the unit to exit
this code learning mode. You could teach the unit an additional
sensor at this time if you have more than one sensor -- up to four.
When a new sensor is taught, the previously taught ones are erased.
