Table 1 SGI Support Differences From Switch Features as Documented in Brocade Manuals Discrepancy 2800 2400 Fabric OS Zoning Web Tools SilkWorm 2400 is the SGI 8-port fibre channel switch. SilkWorm 2800 is the SGI 16-port fibre channel switch. Throughout Throughout Throughout Throughout Throughout 1-1, 2-2 4-1, 4-2 v, 3-12, 3-45 through 3-47 The SGI 8-port and 16-port switches are shipped 1-1, 2-3 with one power supply; an optional second power supply must be ordered separately (FC-SWITCH-PWR). 1-1, 2-3 SGI does not support SES, QuickLoop, multicast, 1-2, 3-2, 3-5, 1-2 or remote switch. 3-6, 3-8, 3-14, 3-16 Only 62.5 µm optical cable is available from SGI 1-3, 2-5 (see Table 3 in this note); 50 µm must be ordered from another supplier. 1-3, 2-6 The 62.5 µm optical cable available from SGI (see 2-5, A-1 Table 3 in this note) supports distances up to 175 m only. 2-6, A-1 SGI supplies copper cabling up to 12 m, not 13 m. 1-4, 2-5, A-3 1-4, 2-6, A-3 SGI does not include GBICs in the switch packaging; GBICs must be ordered separately (see Table 2). 2-2 2-2 2-4 SGI rackmounting hardware differs from that documented; installing a switch in an SGI rack is performed by a qualified Systems Support Engineer (SSE) only. 2-4 through 2-5 For license upgrades, contact your authorized SGI service provider. 3-74, 3-77 2-1 SGI does not support software or firmware downloaded directly from Brocade Communications Systems, including utilities for nonsupported platforms.
