WORK HOURS: 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. / Rotating Schedule
(8.0 hours/day; 40 hours/week)
SALARY: Pay Range ST08
Minimum $2,538.40 Biweekly/$66,201 Annually
Maximum $3,162.40 Biweekly/$82,475 Annually
TYPE EMPLOYMENT: This vacancy is a civil service position subject to provisions of a collective
bargaining agreement. It will be filled as a regular, full-time appointment.
APPOINTMENT OPTIONS: Options available to fill this position include transfer, reassignment,
reinstatement, demotion, or selection from Civil Service lists. Employees affected by furlough actions may
have preference for this position.
**The starting salary for a Registered Nurse at the Southeastern Veterans Center is Pay Range 8, Step 10
because the Commonwealth has experienced significant recruitment difficulties at this institution compared with
other institutions within the Commonwealth. If you receive a pay increase as a result of a transfer to this
institution, it may not be possible for you to transfer to other Commonwealth institutions in the future at the
same salary. Such transfers will be decided on a case-by-case basis.” **

ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must --
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a current licensure to practice as a
Registered Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing; or possession of a non-
renewable temporary practice permit issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Employees possessing a non-renewable temporary
practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period
defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Be appointable on a Civil Service eligible list for the job title or other list deemed comparable by
the State Civil Service Commission; or currently be a Civil Service employee in the job title; or
be certifiable based on prior service; or meet all the requirements and currently be in a classified
service position at the same or higher pay range.
** PENNSYLVANIA RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT WAIVED.
