Welcome to Bear Country! First of all, thank you to the dealers who share our commitment to bringing the
finest hunting equipment to hunters around the world! e dealers make it possible for all of us to continue
pursuing our passion.
And thank you to the hunters who support both Bear® Archery and the dealers. Some of you are new to Bear
Archery. Others of you have been with our legendary company for years. Whatever the case, please know that
you can contact me personally with any comment or question you may have about our company and
product (be it positive, negative, or otherwise). More importantly, Bear Archery welcomes your feedback
as we work daily to provide you the best in products and service.
2008 is a very special year for Bear. In our opinion, Bear Archery and Team Primos® did it again. e all new
Truth® 2 is the result of our second year of collaboration with Team Primos. e result: a bow so dynamic in
all areas of performance, delivered at such a value, it will change everything. And as Will Primos says, “you
have to get your hands on one to know how smooth this bow is.” I must say we’re proud of e TRUTH 2,
but we didn’t stop there. Wait until you see the developments from e TRUTH 2 that made their way
through the entire product line for 2008. e enhancements and innovation you will see are made possible
by adding key staff members to our team and investing capital within our company, such as we did this year.
With this being said, I think you’ll have to get your hands on ALL of the new bows to truly believe where we
have come to in 2008!
I am also very proud to report that the Fred Bear Sportsman’s Club (developed in the community-
minded spirit of Fred himself) raised enough money again this past year to provide several
thousands of meals for hungry families in need around the country.

“What’s the one new characteristic of the Bear® line in 2008?”
The Objective:
An even smoother, quieter bow – beginning with draw cycle and through release –
yet without a compromise in speed.
The result:
A bow design so inherently smooth and quiet that few, if any, additional vibration dampeners will be desired. A bow so
energy-packed that it reaches speeds of 318 fps (IBO). And, along the way, a sturdy and more efficient bow system was
developed, transmitting more energy to the arrow and delivering more consistent accuracy – shot after shot.
AND A BEAR ESSENTIAL –

Bear limbs continue to be made
with PATENTED compression-
molding technology – continuous,
long fibers that deliver the most
energy-packed and durable limbs
in the industry.
BRACE HEIGHT. e TRUTH 2 is
designed with a brace height of
7". Shots are forgiving yet benefit
from maximum stored energy to
the limbs during draw. Maximum
stored energy – combined with
an even and efficient transfer of
energy – equals speed.
DUAL, ARC STRING SUPPRESSORS are integrated into the riser. ese
dual string suppressors were designed and optimized using high-speed
photography to counter the greatest amount of string vibration.
MACHINED ALUMINUM PIVOTING LIMB CUPS are built with a side-locking tang on
e TRUTH 2 to create a rigid, “zero tolerance” fit – increasing sturdiness and consistency
while reducing vibration. Pivoting limb cups maintain a tight limb-to-cup-to-riser fit,
regardless of draw weight adjustment. And rubber isolation boots mean that the limb
never touches the limb cup (avoiding any direct transference of vibration from limb to riser).
ONE-PIECE, SLIM SYNTHETIC GRIP reduces vibration, minimizes hand torque and provides the
warmest feel in cold weather.
The details of ‘how’:
e dramatic advances mentioned below are found on e TRUTH® 2. e process of developing
the new TRUTH 2 system created benefits across the entire Bear® compound bow line in 2008.
MINIMIZED RISER REFLEX. e less the riser reflex, the more forgiving and accurate the shot. Plus, the
smaller overall profile improves maneuverability in the field or treestand.
AXLE-MOUNTED WEIGHTED DAMPENERS. Four dampeners are positioned optimally at the
far end of the limbs where energy release occurs – for the optimal absorption of vibration.
THE PERIMETER-WEIGHTED MODULAR SINGLE CAM. e powerful
single cam proves it is an engine for speed when e TRUTH 2 reaches
318 fps. Yet, the cam’s shape sets the stage for a smooth draw – including
an asymmetric power track that reduces friction and increases cable life.
Further, the cam quietly rotates during draw and release on a sealed,
stainless steel ball bearing. Likewise, the idler wheel pivots on stainless steel
sealed ball bearings. Smooth is built in to every part of e Truth 2. And this
cam has 1" modular increments and 1/2" post increments, including a large
segment of the draw length range that does not require a bow press.
FLARE QUAD LIMBS. Ultra-short, flared limbs flex well beyond
parallel. Bear perfected the limb design through FEA (finite element analysis)
to evenly distribute stress during draw and release. Even stress distribution in
a short, lighter limb creates these advantages. 1) “SMOOTH” is the natural
result of lighter limbs accelerating and decelerating during release. 2) Beyond
parallel limb position creates a short, vertical travel where opposing limb
movements cancel each other, rather than a forward thrust of conventional
limbs. 3) Even stress distribution allows for a more efficient transfer of energy
to the arrow; maximizing the reduction of vibration or noise.
