Jan 6, Registration for ‘The Ethics of Water Security’ course, Bethesda, MD The environmental task force at RRUUC has put together a discussion curriculum on Dying of Thirst: The Ethics of Water Security is an original discussion course coordinated by RRUUC Environmental Task Force. Readings and discussion will explore the world's diminishing supply of clean water, its usage and equitable distribution, privileged consumption, laws governing water, and its use in energy production. The class will be from Monday January 13 thru to March 10, 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm at River Road UU Congregation in Bethesda meeting alternate weeks. Murphy Court of Appeals steps, 361 Rowe Blvd. in Annapolis, where Sierra Club lawyers are presenting arguments against the polluting exports of natural gas from the Cove Point LNG station in Calvert County. You can park at the Navy Stadium parking lot, then take the short walk across Taylor Ave., past the Dept. of Natural Resources building to the courthouse. From there, we will march along Rowe Blvd. to the Maryland Statehouse (less than 1/2 mile) to welcome the legislators back for the first day of the General Assembly session and urge them to place a moratorium on fracking. We'll be finished by noon, and the event is free (although you will need to pay for parking at the Stadium lot and most other places around Annapolis).
