Q. How do I program the SMKT3?
A. The SMKT3 is programmed differently than the SMKT2. For step-by-step instructions on how to program the SMKT3, please
refer to the Guides and Manuals portion of the dealer website: Wireless Smoke, Heat Alarm Install Instructions
Q. On what loop should I set the SMKT3?
A. The SMKT3 was designed to separate the smoke, heat, and freeze features on three loops. This allows you to configure the
SMKT3 to be any combination of a smoke, heat, and freeze detector.
Loop 1 – Smoke
Loop 2 – Heat
Loop 3 – Freeze
If you want the device to detect all three, configure the SMKT3 on three separate loops. For additional details on how to program

Q. Why is the SMKT3 reporting a loss of supervision soon after installation?
A. This is most likely caused by a failure to properly test the SMKT3 with the panel after installation. If not properly tested, the panel
will report a loss of supervision after four (4) hours. To ensure this does not happen or to fix it if it already has, properly test the
SMKT3 as outlined in the Wireless Smoke, Heat Alarm Install Instructions under the heading “Testing.”
Q. What are the differences between the SMKT2 and the SMKT3?
A. The primary differences are that the SMKT3 incorporates freeze detection and that each feature (heat, smoke, and freeze) can
be separated if desired. Additionally the SMKT3 incorporates a new design that gives it a more uniform appearance with the rest
of the 2GIG product family.
Q. How large of an area can one SMKT3 cover?
A. The 2GIG SMKT3 has a spacing rating of 70 ft.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The Wireless Smoke/Heat Alarm (SMKT3) works with any Go!Control security panel. If using firmware prior to 1.8,
installers can select SMKT2 as the equipment code for the new SMKT3 and the system will function properly. If running
firmware 1.8 or newer, the SMKT3 equipment code is available in system programming.
Orders for the SMKT2 (2GIG-SMKT2-345) are expected to begin transitioning to SMKT3s (2GIG-SMKT3-345) this week.
Please note that SMKT3 has a new SKU to reflect the additional features. Any order for the 2GIG-SMKT2-345 will
automatically be filled with 2GIG-SMKT3-345 once shipping commences.

SMKT3, 2GIG’s next generation in fire and freeze protection, offers the same reliable
functionality and features as the SMKT2 but with the added benefit of freeze detec-
tion. It is more customizable than previous models by allowing separation of the
smoke, heat, and freeze features enabling the alarm to detect one, two, or all three.
