CS4106 - INSTRUCTIONS for project presentations
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
PRESENTATION PURPOSE
The purpose of the presentations is to have a chance for the class to hear about all kinds of AI problems,
AI challenges, AI applications, etc, which we did not have time to cover during the semester. Each
group’s purpose IS NOT to present all the information you have gathered. The presentation does not
have the same content as the report. The presentation should be just a HIGHLIGHT, by which I mean an
overview of your topic. Your goal as a presenter is to show the class that your topic is interesting. Tell
the class why you think it’s interesting.
PRESENTATION EVALUATION
Overall the presentation is worth 10% of your project mark. Your presentation will be evaluated by your
peers. The presentation is evaluated on 30 points.
1. Coming to class and evaluating other groups is worth 10 points.
2. How well you are prepared is worth 10 points.
3. How you deliver your presentation in front of the class, is worth another 10 points.
Everyone will be provided an evaluation sheet at the beginning of the presentations. I’ve put an example
of such sheet below.
PRESENTATION CONTENT
Each group should prepare 3-4 slides. The presentation should last 4 minutes. Rehearse and time
yourself to make sure you have 4 minutes. During your presentation, you will be timed and stopped when
the 4 minutes is up. I will be in charge of changing the slides to avoid computer manipulation.
Everyone in the group should participate in the presentation (there cannot be just one designated
speaker).
The first slide should contain: Project Title, Project type, Group number, Student names.
In the other slides, you should provide an overview of the project, talk of the challenges, give preliminary
results, say what you’ve learned, etc. Depending on the project type you choose, your content might
change. Your PURPOSE should be to interest the audience to your topic, tell them why it is interesting.
PRESENTATION ORGANIZATION
1. Your group has been assigned to a section. Find in which section you are. The sections A, B, C
are given in the tables below.
2. Find the deadline date to submit your pdf of your presentation. Depending on the section you are
assigned to, the deadline changes. If the PDF is NOT RECEIVED BY THE DEADLINE, YOU
WILL EITHER NOT PRESENT, OR PRESENT WITH NO MATERIAL IN FRONT OF THE
CLASS.
3. The submission of your PDF should be done in BRIGHTSPACE. There is a link in the Project
Module to do your submission.
