Rigidizer bars can vary from one wheelchair to the next. To ensure
compatibility of the Invacare Matrx MX1 Mono Mount back with your
wheelchair, a few initial measurements are recommended. To assure
compatibility with all available sizes of the Matrx Mx1 back, the standard
height for the rigidizer bar is 8” to 8.5” (measured from the top of the seat
upholstery/seat rail to the underside of the rigidizer bar); The standard
depth for the rigidizer bar is 3.25” (measured from the center of the back
canes to the center of the rigidizer bar).
While these standard dimensions work for all back sizes, the versatility
of the Mono Mount hardware also allows the Matrx Mx1 Back to remain
compatible with rigidizer bars that fall outside these dimensions.
Limitations may occur for certain Matrx MX1 back heights if the rigidizer
bar is located below the optimal height (less than 8”). To calculate which
back heights are compatible with your particular wheelchair, please
refer to the Invacare Matrx MX1 Mono Mount Hardware Installation
guide (Form 12-069)
