MOSA, founded in 1963, is specialized in the production of high quality, professional engine

driven welders and generating sets. Over the years MOSA has supplied several hundred

thousand engine driven welders and generators to customers all over the world and the

name MOSA has become synonymous with quality and reliability. MOSA is the industrial

division of BCS-Ferrari Group (www.bcs-ferrari.it), leader in the agricultural and green

maintenance sector (motor mowers, tractors,...).

ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES

In the engineering department new ideas and new products are evaluated and

developed following the ISO 9001 procedures. Their facilities include a CAD/CAM system;

electronic and mechanical workshops to produce prototypes; test cells for evaluating

performance under various operating conditions; and a noise testing area. This extensive

testing is done to assure that our products comply with the CE regulations and meet or

stay below all existing noise limits while still providing adequate cooling for the engine.

Once the product has been thoroughly tested the engineering drawings are completed and

passed to the production department.

PRODUCTION FACILITIES

The modern well equipped production facilities and the highly

qualified personnel assure a high quality, reliable product. MOSA

produces all the welding alternators and some generator alternators.

Sheet metal parts such as the base, housing, etc. are produced in

house and painted in our powder paint facility.

QUALITY CONTROL

MOSA has ISO 9001 certification, which covers both the

development and the production activities. All purchased

components are checked before going to the production lines,

and the completed machine is run-in for 1-2 hours before being

checked under operating conditions in special test rooms. The

final test report, signed by the assembler and by the QC operator,

confirms the quality of the machine.

THE DISTRIBUTION

The BCS group includes three factories in Italy and the

following subsidiaries:

• BCS Iberica, Terrassa (Spain)

• BCS Portugal, Benavente (Portugal)

• BCS India, Punjab (India)

• XI’AN MOSA Electric, XI’AN (China)

The latter being a joint-venture formed to sell to the chinese

and asiatic markets. In addition to these branches, the BCS

Group sales network is made up of independent importers,

distributors and dealers, strategically located in all corners of

the world to provide sales and service support to customers.

MOSA distribution is part of this network in Europe and all over

the world, in order to assure quick and professional support.

Training courses are held in the factory at regular intervals.

Launched in 2005 the New Magic Weld is a compact

professional welder-generator which is easy to transport.

The entire machine weighs only 34kg and is powered

by a Honda petrol engine with an innovative permanent

magnet alternator giving a 150 A DC welding output

with “power on demand” auto idle control to reduce

fuel consumption and engine wear. The New Magic

Weld is able to weld any kind of electrodes (basic,

rutile, cellulosic) up to 3,25 mm thanks to Mosa

The Magic Weld 200 welding generator from Mosa is a

compact, lightweight professional welding generator

with an output of 200 A @ 60% duty cycle.

The Magic Weld 200 is powered by a Honda petrol engine

and an innovative permanent magnet alternator giving a

200 A DC welding output with “power on demand” auto

idle control to reduce fuel consumption and engine wear.

The Magic Weld 200 is able to weld any kind of electrodes

Multipurpose professional welding

Engine driven welders designated with the acronym “DSP” - Digital Signal Processor -

represent a new generation of engine driven machines, which operate at high frequency.

The control of the welding processes is done by a microcomputer (DSP) using patented MOSA

software, which controls the welding current or welding voltage cycle by cycle.

The high speed of the DSP allows almost instantaneous control of welding parameters,

translating into a highly stable output current or welding voltage.

DSP engine driven welders have only four main components: a chopper diode bridge, the

Digital Welding Control, which controls the chopper and is enclosed in a metal box, a small

reactance and a HALL sensor for a very precise measurement of the welding current.

The optional polarity change consists of a power change-over switch and of a special program

for the polarity change-over.

The simplicity of this solution reduces the connections between the few essential welding

components to the minimum, thus improving the already high efficiency of the machine.
