Installing and Using the Noahlink Wireless Upgrader
The Noahlink Wireless Upgrader is a tool for upgrading the firmware in one or more Noahlink Wireless units.
The language of the tool follows the Windows operating system. If the current operating system language is not
supported, English will be shown.
1. Prior to running this program, connect each Noahlink Wireless unit to a USB port with the cable provided.
Install the HIMSA Noahlink Wireless driver if necessary (available on the Noahlink Wireless SDK page).
2. Start the tool. The firmware version contained in the Noahlink Wireless Upgrader tool can be seen in the title
bar.
3. When a Noahlink Wireless unit is found, it will be identified in the list by its serial number (S/N), which is also
written on the bottom of the unit.
4. The status of each connected Noahlink Wireless unit can be seen in the Status field. If the unit needs to be
upgraded, it will show “Ready to Upgrade”. Otherwise it will show “Upgraded”.
5. Click the check box next to each Noahlink Wireless unit entry you want to upgrade. Then click on the
Upgrade button.
WARNING: Do not unplug your Noahlink Wireless unit during the upgrade process! If you do so, the unit
being upgraded will no longer work. The upgrade process may take 2-3 minutes.
6. When the upgrade is complete, the status field for the unit(s) will change to “Upgraded”.

Downgrading Noahlink Wireless firmware

In some cases, software developers or support personal may need to downgrade the firmware in a Noahlink
Wireless unit to the previously released version. Therefore, HIMSA has included a hidden facility, only for use by
development and support personnel.
To use the Firmware Downgrader:
1. Press the [Ctrl] [Alt] [Shift] and [D] keys simultaneously. A Downgrade button will appear at the bottom of
the dialog.
2. Click on the Downgrade button and a console window will open. The downgrade firmware version will
appear at the top of the window.
3. Choose the number of the Noahlink Wireless unit you wish to downgrade. Then choose Y to start the
downgrade.
WARNING: Do not unplug your Noahlink Wireless unit during the downgrade! If you do so, the unit will no
longer work. The downgrade process may take 2-3 minutes.

Known issues:
General: We recommend that you do not use a VMWare image when performing a firmware upgrade or downgrade.
Issue 1: Running the upgrade in VMWare using an Airlink device
1. Plug an Airlink unit into the host PC (GN driver will be automatically installed)
2. Now in VMware, install the HIMSA Noahlink Wireless driver.
3. The upgrader will fail.
Solution: Install the HIMSA Noahlink Wireless driver on the host PC as well.
